The Press Embargo Has Been Lifted

Has there been any opinions shared on the quality of the air conditioning? I found in the Air it always struggled to cool the cabin relative to my expectations.

Kyle Conner reported that the system was re-engineered for the Gravity and he, too, says it's much more capable. But he didn't specify the conditions in which he experienced it.

We're talking a car well into Mercedes, BMW, and Porsche pricing here.

If Lucid were to bend to your demands and deliver your Gravity in the next couple of weeks, I can only assume we wouldn't be hearing any gripes from you about malfunctioning accessories, inoperable software features, or not being able to get into the car, right?
It you want a flawless car it doesn't exist and even more so in the EV world. Mercedes, BMW, Audi and Porsche have all been getting dinged on issues. None of them major, just like the ones you're pointing out on the Gravity,

I couldn’t care less if the tray table broke or the seat was unusually noisy. That’s what warranties are for, and this is par for the course in a first-year model from any manufacturer. I think you’ll find that while I may be critical of Lucid in certain areas, I’m more than fair and reasonable when they fix or rectify something. Do I have to push the handle on the car every now and then because I can’t be bothered taking my phone out of my pocket for the car to open? Yes, but I certainly don’t come here and complain that I had to press the handle five times out of 100, so the car should be deemed a lemon.

Software aside, my main consistent issues with my Air were the steering wheel creak and the parcel shelf creak, which went in multiple times to be fixed. I don’t take issue with the creaking, but what I do take issue with is that the car went in three or four times over many months to have the same issues fixed. In that regard, Lucid does deserve to be called out because they’re digging their own grave by not fixing the issue properly the first time it went in. People complain about Service Centers being backed up, this sloppy repair work leads to that problem.

Do I want the Gravity tomorrow? Yes, it’s long overdue, and Lucid has informed us that deliveries began in December. However, if they had simply stated, “We’ve encountered some issues, and expect a 3-month delay,” Would I be a little disappointed? Yes, but I I wouldn’t be criticizing their poor communication in here. Cars are supposed to be delivered at the end of this month, yet it’s remarkable that not a SINGLE person here with an order has received a production notification. There are only two possibilities: either people are keeping their mouths shut, or Lucid is once again missing the end-of-month deliveries as promised at the New York Event and simply going to pretend that this is normal and just continue to string people along. It's April 18th and they still haven't seemed to manage getting ONE car in a showroom (even though they're apparently "ready") other than NY (would love to be corrected on this). My primary concern with Lucid lies not in the quality of the cars but in their consistent overpromising and underdelivering on various aspects.

Like you, I was a very early Air owner and some scars run deep but to constantly compare the early Air issues and assuming the Gravity is going to be the same is a mistake. What I've seen in the demo ride, the software and the plethora of reviews is that all the "issues" being called out are minor and in line with what every other car manufacturer deals with. Seriously, 99% positive feedback and because of 1% negative we run with the "delay, delay, delay, until its perfect narrative"? No car would ever be released following that mantra and it's not smart business.

Ugh, according to the reviewer, one flaw is that it doesn't make pizza! Cancel my order! 🤣 😂
Again, another misinformed reviewer. It will make pizza if you plug this into the frunk 😂

I actually had a good idea for SoCal EV Fest this year to show off the capabilities of the frunk but seems no hope in hell of getting my Gravity delivered by then :(

Thanks for posting. IMO the best of the videos thus far. By far the most polished.

My favorite line: "ingress, egress, all the gresses are gonna be really easy . . . ."

It can be the gresses that sometimes matter so much in life.

Tom Mulloughney does this with his Lightning! 🤣 I was thinking the same when the reviewer mentioned no pizza. I was like, Tom would like to disagree and offer you a slice!🤣

I actually had the same idea pop into my head... Lucid's PR people should actually respond with a social media post to that review doing exactly this!

Those pizza ovens get VERY VERY HOT on the outside. Do not set this in the frunk if you try this. Although the cord of the one my son has should be long enough to set the oven on the ground a foot or so away from vehicle.

Interesting that this reviewer found she could not find a comfortable driving position in the Gravity. Kyle Conner had the same complaint about the Air and still brings It up repeatedly. It must be devilishly difficult for carmakers to design things around such an array of sizes and preferences.

What I found a bit confusing was her saying that she thought she could find a suitable position for the seat if she had enough time. It really doesn't take that long, so I wonder how much time pressure these reviewers were under to assess their rides.

There is a piece of me that wonders if the unconventional steering wheel position has something to do with her inability to find a “familiar” seating position.

It took me a couple hours, and now whenever I get in the Air I’m like “why is the wheel so high?!”

That's good news for me. Despite being relatively tall I always like my steering wheel to be very low.

I'm actually wondering if I saw you guys a while back. I was in a shopping center at night in San Jose and I saw a car driving across the lot from a distanct that looks a lot like a Gravity. I wasn't about to run across the lot to check it out despite having the urge to. Haha. I was with my family and some friends.

It’s possible!

I couldn't really tell as I'm not familiar with the wheel, but it looked to my unfamiliar eyes as if she had the wheel fully extended and perhaps adjusting it closer to the dash would make it easier to reach the pedals??
