Starting to regret getting this car...

Last night I went to my GT which is parked in the garage, and listened to music for an hour or so. Tidal ATMOS / Dolby Pro. I do this now that my "dedicated listening room" in the house is now a "living room". This is a feature of the lucid Air that is unknown by car reviewers. It's pretty fn amazing.

Spent some of the day loading my '22 GT for a beach vacation. I've loaded all the beach gear for 4 adults (4 beach chairs, two umbrellas, two tents, a beach cart, 2 skim boards and 2 belly boards = have about used about 16% of the cargo space so far...the funk and back seat are still empty, awaiting luggage and misc supplies. There is still room in the trunk. I'm going to "gas up" overnight to 100% on my home Lucid charger (first time I've gone all the way), even though I have free charging at EA until October. I want to see how the car performs now that it's "broken in". I got 4.40 mi/kWh yesterday doing the 40 mi out and return to Meeting. 21" summer rubber (44-45 psi).

My car battery is "old" now, so it's only good for ~ 460 miles on the summer tires. Darn. 96% capacity.

Calculated that I can drive the 100 miles to the shore, spend a week there, and drive back with about 50% soc.

I haven't had any problems with my car. I don't regret anything.
Yeah last week we drove with family to Cape Cod from Providence, stayed there for a week, drove around out there, then back home and I never needed to charge. I did however use the RangeXChange cable to charge my wife’s Volvo PHEV off my Lucid. And still made it home with 32%.

Carry the fob or phone as a key, not both. If you use the fob, use batteries that do not have a bitterant coating.

Your other door issues should be addressed by service.

In the Air and Gravity, Sirius XM is carries over the car's cellular connection, not Sirius' satellite connection. Lucid's cars do not have a satellite antenna.
But that bitterant coating tastes so good!

Just a few hours ago I did an out-and-return "down the shore" for a few days. It's about 100 miles to Ocean City, NJ from our area, which takes about 2 hrs depending on traffic. We went down to Stoned Harbor for dinner. I don't even know ... the wife wouldn;t let me speed but we left early ... I was cool with CC.

This is the first time I charged to 100% (at home) since i got the car 9/22. Came home with 30% . Speed limit is 65 on Atlantic City Expressway so I set CC for ~75 mph... got 3.75 mi / kWh on the 21" Summer Pirellis. We left at ~ 6:03 AM and I was in the water by 8:20 AM. I love S. Jersey.

There is a bank of 4 Charge Point right on 9st as you crossed the bridge. We stayed at the Flanders (recommended). We usually do day-trips and beach at the 34st bridge. Nicer beach. Hot Showers at 13 St. ,

4 Adults = beach chairs two umbrella two surfboards, all the beach stuff and food for 4 days, luggage. ... etc. ect. It all fit. Fun times!

Back in the day we would visit the Anchorage in Somers Point just by the bridge. 7 beers (pony glasses) for a buck. One night three of us had something like $34 worth of beer. Good times ....

OMG we used to do that decades ago!!

Simple, don’t use key fob and phone key. Pick one.

It’s a brand new car company, what else did you expect? Toyota like reliability? These are easily fixed minor issues.

The problem is that there are people, myself included, who started carrying a fob because the phone connection was unreliable. And even if it works, I frequently get a message that it's not available as a mobile key because I walked past the car too many times. And there's no switch within the app to reenable it. And then there's the problem with the car refusing to wake up, making it impossible to unlock manually using the app.

I should be able to carry a fob, and people who carry a fob most likely have the app. And I doubt that even 1% of owners spend time reading forums, so telling people not to do with they do with any other car with an app is not a satisfying response. Lucid really needs to make things more reliable. Saying that because the app doesn't work reliably, I should disable using it as a key completely, is the last thing I'd want anybody tell anybody if I'm want to promote the car.

If it’s disabled all you need to do is press the door handle to re-enable it. No button in app needed. Helps save fantom drain a lot. Damned if they do damned if they don’,t lol.

App works reliably for me, never bring my key or card with me anymore at all. Mobile key has been flawless across 3 vehicles for me. I think people need to choose one, this is anecdotal, but as soon as I tried to carry the fob and mobile key the car wouldn’t open every time.

Also, pressing the door handle lightly seems to wake the car up for me. Hope this helps.

I'm a previous Tesla owner, got my first Lucid (Air Touring) a couple of months ago. Performance, handling, and overall driving experience is great - as expected. However, it's been one issue after another since day one... not acceptable for a $90K/luxury car in my opinion.

I walked up to my car earlier today, parked in my garage, still plugged-in to the Lucid charger from when I came home last night. Sadly, I'm used to door handles not presenting all the time right away but this time there was no response at all despite my phone being in my pocket and key-fob in my hand. Pushing the key-fob button didn't do anything. Lucid app on my phone stuck with "still waking up" spinner. I also tried using the keycard with no luck. The car/computer is completely unresponsive, despite having EV battery fully charged based on charging notifications I received overnight. Very frustrating not being able to leave the house but at the same time lucky this didn't happen while I was out. It's Sunday and Lucid Customer Service is closed. The roadside politely offered to tow it to the nearest Lucid service 80 miles away (dumb decision on my end to get a Lucid before they open a service shop in my town). The tow truck dispatch said they see this problem often, suggested I wait a few hours as it might miraculously solve itself ("these cars sometimes just decide to take a break"). Waiting now until the morning and if no change, I'll be towing it to service, which I already know is backed up and won't be able to work on it for few weeks. I know this because I have an appointment for a different issue scheduled 3 weeks from now, which was the first available appt when I made it 2 weeks ago.

Few days after picking up the car from a Lucid studio, the driver-side rear door handle didn't present when I walked up to it so I tapped it with my finger, which usually does the trick after a short delay (annoying). This time the handle pulled in and remained in that position for a bit then popped out but I was not able to open the door by pulling the handle like usual. I was not able to open that door for several weeks, until Lucid service tech came out and replaced the faulty lock assembly. The handle remained presented the whole time, even while driving. These problems were successfully fixed during 2nd scheduled service appt at my home, after the service tech obtained the necessary replacement parts.

During the same service appt I've reported how the auto unlocking/locking doesn't work well, how random it is. The tech verified that my Lucid app has location permission set to 'always' on my phone and then told me that my key-fob battery needs to be replaced. I said I already did that, replaced with a brand-new Energizer Max battery. The tech suggested it had to be a Panasonic battery for it to work well and replaced it with one of those. As expected, the problem did not go away - the automatic locking/unlocking is just as bad as before battery replacement suggesting the computer has connectivity problems and/or poor signal processing.

A couple of months ago, the day I drove the car off from the Lucid studio, I noticed that certain songs I played caused a rattle in the area behind the passenger-side rear seat. It makes it sound like a poor-quality system in a cheap car. Somewhat different type of rattle can be heard when the sounds system is not on at all. The service tech said he couldn't reproduce it even though he was able to hear it in videos that I took and played for him. For second service tech visit, I found a song that consistently makes the rattle sound, and the tech was able to hear it in person. He identified the rattle was coming from the rear deck/trim panel or parcel shelf. The rattle can be heard by tapping on the outside cross panel above rear windshield. For this to be fixed, I have a tow-out to Lucid service scheduled in 3 weeks as it cannot be completed at my home.

A smaller issue but also annoying... Lucid floor mats are detaching from floor pins and sliding under my feet - I have to realign and push them back onto the floor pins every time I enter/exit the car. All floor mat corners in this car have been curved up since day one.

Issues with media memory/connectivity - my music favorites often disappear for a while then reappear. Sirius satellite radio connectivity issues are frequent in the same locations in which my previous cars never had issues acquiring signal. Bluetooth/Apple car integration is buggy and sometimes doesn't respond or function properly.

I didn't get a chance to post an update earlier... I got my Lucid AT back after being in service for 30 days.

The lockout issue I experienced that prompted for the car to be towed away to a service center, was due to a malfunctioning uDCDC board which got replaced, along with my keyfob - issues resolved. The auto-unlock sometimes still requires a few seconds of standing by the door (even after tapping the handle) but that's tolerable.

Floor mat issues were also resolved - they replaced the carpets because the mounting points were ripped.

Parcel shelf issue - partially improved, but not resolved. From the service notes, the tech really tried to fix it but no such luck:
"Found rear parcel rattling against rear window when playing customer requested song....New parcel shelf has fitment issues with other trim pieces, replaced new parcel shelf... Attempted to install 2 other parcel shelves, however the new parcel shelves have too much super glue around them and prevent the surrounding trim pieces to clip in and sit flush... Removed and replaced parcel shelf 3 times, attempted cutting super glue from them to see if that would help the fitment but it did not... Reinstalled old parcel shelf."

Now I hear a creaking noise more often when not playing music, rather than panel rattling. It's also coming from the rear passenger corner:

Also, my driver seat has been making this creaking noise ever since I received my car back from service. It occurs even without any substantial body movement in the seat - normal acceleration, breaking, turning, or driving over slightly uneven surfaces will will produce it. A mobile tech came out the other day and made partial improvement by installing a missing seat screw but not fully resolved - it looks like they might be replace the entire seat.

Last but not least, I've been hearing a subtle vibration/rattle noise lately coming from front driver-side wheel area, only when driving over uneven pavement. It sounds like something suspension-related is loose in the driver-side wheel well area. The mobile tech heard it during test drive but wasn't able to diagnose it on the ground (nothing obvious with trim, underbody panels, or suspension contacts). I'm now waiting for next available appointment at the service center in September, where they can lift my car for full inspection.

The saga continues...

That’s some bad luck with the parcel shelf. I had mine fixed, rattle vanished. I think the definitive fix has something to do with torquing panel adjustments and not the shelf itself, which then makes the shelf make less noise. I used to hear a large crack noise when turning into driveways or any turn on which you’re going over a bump, now it’s silent.
