Lucid Air Pure
Could I get some perspective on the issues with my 2024 Lucid Air Pure? I am 7 months into an 18 month lease and right now counting down the days to the end of my lease.

I have had 6 mobile service visits (my only car, so I need to be home) and am about to have my 3rd service center visit in mid-March, meaning I wont have my car for most of the week. I have not been offered a Lucid loaner on any of my service center visits despite asking every time.

Addressed in prior visits:
  1. Speaker distortion – speaker in headliner replaced
  2. Rear passenger seatbelt replaced – not properly retracting
  3. Tape fix for speaker rattle – driver side
  4. Tape fix for speaker rattle – passenger side (necessitated separate visit)
  5. Right rear gateway switch - replaced
  6. Subframe harness replacement recall - replaced
  7. Low battery coolant from factory – coolant added
  8. Steering wheel creaking – wheel replaced
  9. Front right radar fault – no fix, still occurring
  10. Both key fobs inoperative - security gateway replaced
  11. Wipers streaking – replaced at owner cost
  12. Driver side door creaking – adjusted, still creaking
To be addressed in my next service center visit:
  1. Both key fobs inoperative - broken again 2 weeks after leaving service center
  2. Front left radar fault – new, intermittent
  3. Front right radar fault – existing, intermittent
  4. Fix passenger wiper – not installed properly in prior visit
  5. External trunk opening button inoperative – to be replaced
  6. Intermittent driver screen blackout – to be diagnosed
This does not include the numerous screen blackouts and software faults which don't receive more than a cursory diagnosis and a statement to run a reset process.

I enjoy the car as a driving experience and as a design exercise it is excellent. Packaging is great and I believe it has great potential. However, I am losing my trust in the product and the company.

I appreciate any of your perspective and / or advice.

I feel your pain, I picked my air pure up 12/2022 and have experienced a lot of the same, mostly minor annoyances for what they are but it’s the volume of them that’s annoying to me too.

I’m so tired of resetting my car, and everyone on here acts like “hey it’s no big deal, takes a few seconds…” well I don’t usually notice until after I’m driving, so now I have to find a place to pull over and then reset in some parking lot or whatever is available, I mean who has time to just stop all time for this nonsense…I’m so annoyed.

This is unusual and excessive IMO.

I’ve had my Pure for over 1 1/2 years and nearly 13,000 miles. I visited the SC once for a minor leather tear to the rear seat back. No mobil visits and no mechanical/electrical issues. Essentially as trouble-free as any car I’ve owned. Occasional software glitches yes, but nothing serious.

Unfortunately your experience is unusually poor. I hope things improve.

Oh man, I am sorry for you. It sounds like you need a new car.

Of course all that in aggregate is a cause of major frustration. Good news is you wisely took on a short-term lease. My 2023 Air Pure has been, so far, as reliable as any new car I’ve ever owned. Seems reliability is hit or miss, ie. your “mileage” may vary.

Seems you got a lemon. Sorry to hear that. My 2024 had no issues. Thank goodness.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your thoughts - this is my first new car lease. I'm glad for the company's sake this is likely atypical. I do believe Lucid has a ton to offer if they get it right.

My next steps are to reach out to customer service to see if there are any remediation / lease exit options that don't involve paying 9 months + termination fee. Based on my own reading I don't qualify for NY lemon law nor do I really relish the thought of going down that route.

I would ask Lucid if they’d let you end your lease early in exchange for leasing a 2025 version. My 2025 AGT has been flawless. There really has been a big step up in quality and even functionality of the cars in the 2025 model year…they did a pretty extensive mid-cycle refresh. By asking for this, I think you’ll potentially be received better. “It’s clear that my car is ‘atypical,’ please give me a shot at having a Lucid Air with all the joy and none of the pain I’ve endured.” That kind of approach likely will have more appeal to the Company then “I want out.”

Plus, the likelihood is you will end up with an outstanding car with little (or no) issues…

wow, it sure appears that you got stuck with a real clunker, they used to call those friday cars. while all those issues are a PIA, I don't think that they rise to a level to get the car lemoned.

I think I would check to see if they could help you get into a 2025, agreeing with @Blue Lectroid. I have one and while it’s still young and new, there’s like zero creaking or rattling in this interior, which accounts for several of those issues you’ve had, granted you do have more going on there. Not to say they’ve solved ALL issues in the ‘25s but the general build quality is partly what has impressed me about my AT.

Didn't you say your GT had the "suspension clunk" problem in that thread and that your Dad's new 2025 had to go back in right after purchase for mobile key issues? While these aren't crazy issues I'm not sure the word "flawless" is appropriate.

Now I love, love my 2025 Air, even though it had to go in twice for "drive system warnings" within the first 3 weeks of ownership (never had any other car I've purchased in decades require immediate service after driving it only a few miles). It does indeed drive spectacularly and is the most can't-wait-to-drive-it-again of any car I've ever owned. I'm willing to cut some slack as stuff happens, and these issues do not diminish my enthusiasm for the car, but flawless is not a word I'd use.

My own 2022 GT has been quite good except for software issues (mostly navigation fails). I've only brought it in for two annual maintenance visits and had a few minor trim issues addressed at each. I know I've been lucky compared to some, including the OP. I hope further work with Lucid resolves their concerns.
