Siri Shortcut for estimating range

Hi, everyone.

A suggestion from @xponents during an earlier conversation about calculating a more accurate estimated range got me to thinking: "I could make a Shortcut for that."

For anyone with an iPhone (Sorry, Android and Alexa folks. Someone else will have to make this for your platforms.) you can download one of the files linked below to add a Siri Shortcut to your phone.

Tap the correct corresponding link below ON YOUR PHONE to install the correct shortcut.

Once installed, you can invoke Siri with a "Hey, Siri" and then say "Touring Range." (Or GT Range. Or Dream Range. Whatever trim corresponds to your car.) Siri will prompt you for your current percentage and efficiency (Tap the Trip button on your Pilot Panel to see your current mi/kWh for efficiency.) Then it'll do the math and tell you how far you are estimated to be able to go.

If you are using CarPlay, this will also work while driving. Just hold down the microphone button and say "Dream Range" or whatever your trim is called. If you wish to change the phrase needed to invoke this shortcut, just rename the shortcut in your shortcuts app.

Calculations are based on the simple formula shown in the FAQ section of LucidUpdates.com. (Thanks to @Bobby for posting this info.) I suggest you read up there why this is a better way to go than relying on Lucid's estimated miles.

Perfect! I knew there was a voice assistant that could do this..
I would tweak some aspects of your shortcuts though. First is that considering that users have to install the correct version of their car first, theres no point in making us say "<trim> range," instead this could be tweaked to just "my range."
I will try to make an alexa version of this.(and probably google assistant)

Nicely done, Joe. This will be a great addition to our phones. Perhaps a resourceful android user out there can create the same for that platform. Meanwhile, iPhone users may enter into the Shortcuts app, long press the shortcut downloaded from Joe’s post, click share, and then “add to home screen.” This will create an icon (renamable) that looks just like any other app on your home screen that can be tapped if you don’t wish to use Siri at that moment.

Incorrect. If you invoke the shortcut through Siri (“Hey Siri, [name of shortcut]”) you will use your voice to enter the information. Good while driving. If you tap the shortcut on your home screen, you will be able to type the information in using your phone. Good for making calculations when silent phone usage is perferred (in church, for example). Two completely different uses of the same same shortcut.

Ah, I had thought that even tapping it would be the same function. I would say though, that would only be appropriate for when you are at a rest stop or something, because it is obviously unsafe to type while driving!

Hmmmm, for GT Range it says my range is 20,032 miles when I say my percentage is 48% and efficiency is 3.9 mi/kWh. Edit: I think I just didn’t say “point” clearly enough in 3.9 haha

Same thing is happening with me too. ( i said “point”) . I guess it doesnt the calculation correct
