I would like to know what non-Tesla level 2 chargers they have at their homes, Make and Model, and whether they would recommend it. IF not, why.

It depends on what you need, I like the Wallbox because it is nice and small, has smart features and charges fast. Also super easy to get on Amazon.

Here is a review on it but he reviews a lot of them

It also depends if you charge outside and it is cold... The hose might get stiff..

I have a ChargePoint Flex plugged into a 50 amp circuit. I highly recommend it.

I have a Grizzl-e smart and so far it has been excellent as an outdoor charger. I've heard great things about the Wallbox as well.

Tom over at State of Charge has excellent reviews of home chargers. I'd start there.

I bought a Chargepoint Home Flex for our XC40 EV and love it. It's capable of being installed on a 60-amp circuit if hardwired, but small and slim with has a light flexible cable and nice vehicle connector with excellent feel and "click". The phone app does charge cost reporting - you just tell it the name of your electricity provider. Also does charge scheduling.

I also have the ChargePoint but hardwired to a 60 amp breaker so I get a little more KW. Phone app works well too. No problems so far charging the Lucid nor the EQS.

I also have the same ChargePoint.
Incidentally, the last time I looked the price on Amazon was $300 more than at HomeDepot or directly with the company.

I will have a two EV house next month. So I just got a Grizzl-E dual EV charger. It can charge two vehicles at the same time at 16A each. Or one vehicle at 40A.

Seems easier to me than daisy chaining two chargers together.

Could just get this and use the supplied mobile chargers.

Thought about that one as well!

Iirc that one charges one side first and then switches to the other side.

Others charge both together.

And in my situation I needed another charger. My Ipace came with a crappy 10A charger. That was pretty useless.

I've been using a Chargepoint Flex for the past year plus and it's been great. Just installed an Enel X Juicebox now that we'll have 2 cars to charge, but haven't used it yet because I still don't have my car. We would have bought another Chargepoint, but they only allow one charger per account, which I think is stupid. Also, they're not available right now other than with huge mark-ups.

Curious

Did you install the second charger on the same circuit as the first? Or install a second outlet/circuit?

I have two circuits and two outlets for my chargers.

I am the same way. Would buy another ChargePoint EXCEPT for the fact that you can have only one on the account. Will use our current ChargePoint for the Lucid (if it ever gets built) and will plug in our Leaf’s portable for the Leaf.

I thought about getting a second line instslled. But the first one cost 2K! So it wasn’t worth it for me. Even at 16A split charge I can charge the I Pace to full overnight. I usually only use 20% of my range. And when it’s the only one it just charges in 2-3 hrs overnight while I’m sleeping.

I got a second circuit installed. It was under $1k because all the hard work was done when installing the first. I tried it out the other night and it worked just fine.

Yeah. Each situation is unique!

Two other electricians quoted me 3K. Only this guy came up with an easy way to send the wires from the basement to the garage with ripping up half the basement drywall.

Definitely was not expecting that level of expense for a 5 year old house.

I have 2 x 50Amp breakers with NEMA 14-50 outlets. I have a Tesla Wall Connector on one and a Wallbox PuLear Plus on the 2nd. When I eventually get rid of the Tesla, I will swap out the wall connector for a second wallbox unit. There’s no issue having multiple Wallboxes on one account.

I’m going to make my self feel better and say it’s not the number of outlets. But how you use them!
