Even if it has legs, immediate implementation is not to be expected. A lot of practical issues would have to be overcome. For instance, you would have to access each battery cell for this injection, so it takes most existing battery module designs off the table. And before carmakers would re-engineer battery packs, this method would have to prove long-term efficacy. It also might only be practical with large pouch cells, as injecting this chemical during a cell's service life into the thousands of cylindrical cells used in a car such as a Lucid would be quite a trick. And the cells themselves would have to be engineered to accept the injections.

Even if it is a viable technology for extending EV battery life, we're a long way from seeing it in any cars.
