If you are a licensed airplane pilot, what non-commercial airplane(s) would you say best exemplifies driving the Lucid Air? I have a couple of out-of-town pilot friends and want to give them a comparison, but I don't fly myself. What might be some options?

For older airplanes, I would suggest the Comanche 260. For newer airplanes, I would suggest the Cirrus or Columbia.

Cirrus...

SR22t for the Pure...

I'm not a pilot, so I knew I didn't know the answer to whatever the question was, but with a thread title like that, I just had to read it. 😀

My first thought: What the heck does an airplane have to do with this forum other than the first three letters. 😀

Looking for a way to convey the Lucid driving experience to some pilot friends who do not have access to the Air. The suggestions are awesome and beautiful!

I'm surprised the member here with the Piaggio Avanti photo didn't chime in--that's the plane I would have suggested.

Certainly cool looking, but I considered that to be more of a commercial aircraft...

I

Also, before I went there, I would want to pay homage to the 1980's Beechcraft Starship...

Have we gotten far enough off track for this forum yet?

I think you opened to the door to the Piaggio by suggesting the Vision Jet ....

I love this stream. I respectfully disagree with the SR22 as the proper analog to the Air. The best thing about the AIR is how it handles the road as a pure driving experience combined with the cutting-edge technology that makes it a joy. While the SR22 and VisionJet have the tech, they are no fun to hand fly, and most friends that I know usually use autopilot as it is pretty sensitive to control inputs - at least when I fly a SR22. I may suggest that for hand-flying joy combined with top technology, I would nominate the Diamond DA-50.

"Hand-flying joy" -- that's exactly what I was seeking. The joy and exhilaration of driving the "Air" in the Air!

This thread is right on point.

The Diamond DA-50 is a great choice. As far as the SR22's sensitive control inputs, you all must have the plane set on swift or sprint modes!

It must be sprint mode. When I fly the SRs, they seem much less stable in attitudinal control than the couch I usually fly, a King Air C-90.
