Puddle Lights

The Lucid already has unbranded puddle lights....

I understand that this thread is bordering religion and politics, but I just have to say that people with bear stickers on their cars shouldn't judge those of us with puddle light aspirations. Atleast you can turn off a puddle light, while that bear sticker is like getting a tattoo while drunk. That is all.

Nothing wrong with getting a tattoo while drunk.

Years later -- someone finally gave me a sticker without sticking it on my car. I have one. I like having one and feeling special. This thing will never be put on my car!

FYI: People who put Apple's stickers on macs are monsters.

I love the bear decals as well! I'd never be without them. Now... for bear puddle lights?

At 75 years of age, and after eight months of ownership, I asked the service team to add the bears to my otherwise sedate-looking cosmos silver car with 19" non-aero-cover wheels. Not only do I like the look... I now have further elevated rock star status in the eyes of my twin nine year old granddaughters. Next stop... bright yellow brake calipers!

It would have been cool if Lucid added custom logos to their puddle lights. Lots of other high end manufacturers include that or there are after market options but I cannot find any websites that do aftermarket puddle lights. I did get one from Amazon, but you have to attach it to the bottom of the door storage and then also charge it once a month which is not very convenient

I was just thinking about puddle lights this week as I recoded my BMW to turn on the puddle lights in reverse (can't remember if the car lights on was a condition too). But it's really dark in our area and the side lights help see in the cameras and mirrors what's going on for the side of the car. Super helpful. Our Lucid cameras go a little wacky trying to figure out where the side of the drive (narrow drive) is without the lights on the side.

Oh, Geez. I went out last night and see that I DO have puddle lights! They illuminate quite well, but they are so subtle that I never noticed them. Probably because I usually park in a well-lit home or high-rise garage, and I'm so freakin' old that I'm almost always home before dark.

It took me a year to realize that I have a rear sunscreen!!??

Ha! Nice to know that I'm not alone. They are mounted on the bottom of the doors, and the light is so evenly diffused that it looks more like the car's interior lights are also lighting the floor outside the car.

I'll look for the light next time. Personally, I'd like to see a bear or two when I open the door, but something mellower does kind of fit the Lucid better.

I think the bears or the Lucid logos would be a nice add, even if the prevailing thought is that this makes me a tacky person. What's unusual to me about the Lucid puddle lights is that they don't do a thing until the door is opened. The outline of the door handles light up enough to see them when they unlock, but that's it. I am more used to puddle lights that light up the floor before the doors are opened, but maybe that's just my Bugatii Mistral and Gulfstream G700.
