Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

Confirmed Order: May 17, 2022
VIN: September 23, 2022
Picked up: Oct 12, 2022

Quantum Grey
Santa Cruz
19" Wheels

Originally ordered Cosmos Silver and 20" wheels. Switched both in July to get faster delivery.

Been lurking here for many months and figured it's time I started contributing to the community. I had one of the early Model X's which I just sold with this car being delivered. We also have a Model 3 and previously had a Model S.

So far, love the car. Definitely some software glitches but for those that remember, the early Tesla interface was pretty clunky. The media screen was pretty bad. I was pretty happy with the updates on the X until the most recent UI update which started burying some controls.

I'll start sharing my experiences in the appropriate threads.
Welcome. The big 2.0 update will hopefully take care of your software glitches. Once it is released across the entire fleet.

Very much looking forward to the 2.0 software release. Based on everything being reports, it's going to be great.

I had originally through I was going to get the car at the end of this year so was expecting the software to be much improved by then. Pleasant surprise to have gotten the car a few months earlier and then for this release to happen about the same time.

The current glitches don't bother me that much. My point above was that my early Tesla had its fair share of glitches so it comes with the territory of buying a car this new. Boot is slow. Switching screens are slow. Switching profiles are painfully slow. Tidal keeps crashing.

My major gripe on the software besides slow and crashing some is what many have said. Need to be able to have some partial music screen while Nav and/ or Maps are up. I rely on the maps for traffic updates. But still want to be able to change my music.

But as many have said, car drives like a dream. Glad they got the hardware right. They can fix the software. So I'll just keep looking forward to updates and improvements and the car getting better and better.

Picked up my Air GT today, our fifth EV. A big girl but pretty. March 28 confirmation, White, 19", Santa Cruz.
Lucid is home.webp

Congrats, and it was really nice to randomly run into you!!! :)
Thank you, and a nice surprise meeting you. Haven't had anyone say "random" to me as a mutually-understood single word sentence since Caltech days.

Got my purchase agreement and signed today. I haven’t heard that delivery of the car is imminent so I’m gonna hold off on making the payment until that is the case.

Best is to keep on checking with DA, calling Service Center, mine is Seattle, and Service Center DA. I just got my agt thu. I got ambivalent info across tbe board and noone knew where my car was and even less so estimated delivery date(s). What i encountered was like nothing else you take for granted year 2022. I was as if not even the phone had been invented. You should pay as soon as you can. Theyll unlikely even talk delivery until youve paid -- yes i know is unusual.

Well my DA told me on Monday when I got the VIN that it would be 2-4 weeks before my car arrived at the Chicago delivery center so I assume he’ll call when that happens.

Picked up my GT yesterday! Originally reserved a pure on 9/17/22, but upgraded to a GT reservation on 10/1/22 and converted to an order on that day. A few days later, Lucid let me know that a car had become available. Originally had ordered Quantum Grey, mostly because I didn’t want to wait for Silver, but a silver car became available.

For tracking purposes:
Cosmos Silver / Mojave interior / 19” aero wheels
Confirmation date: 10/1/22
VIN date: N/A (reassignment on 10/3/22)
Delivery date: 10/15/22

Can’t wait for the software update to become available!

Sandytoes, they didn't deliver it with the latest software? Would have thought that would have been part of the prep.

It’s worth reminding folks that 1.2.21 is the latest software. 2.0.x has not been released yet.

An expanded beta is not a release. No one outside of Lucid, the OG chosen beta testers, and the ”golden 100” folks from this forum have 2.0 yet. From all appearances, Lucid is still tweaking it and taking feedback from those folks before widely distributing it.

Even after 2.0 is released, it still might be a few weeks before any cars coming off the line would have it preinstalled.

Am I the only one that wants to have mine delivered with v1.x? Id like to experience the vehicle on the old software for a few weeks, then see the improvements of 2.0 first hand.

My AGT was delivered on Oct 13 without the updated software. VIN on Sept 26. I understand those who have commented on the various problems with the software, but after only a few days and about 250 miles, it is not a problem for me. Perhaps it is because the car is such a pleasure to drive that the software-related concerns are not an impediment to the experience. Drove some amazing VT secondary roads yesterday, not unlike the canyon roads in the recent Out of Spec YT review. It would be nice if the navigation maps included elevation.
