October OTA Updates

Is there any way to confirm that the software loaded successfully if you do not have access to the car?

The download said 43% on the app and then when I checked 15 minutes later, it just went to the normal screen in the app, no indication of failure, just 43% to done. It took a little over 2 hours to get to this point, but I am downloading over LTE while car is parked at the body shop.
That is exactly how mine worked this time and other times. A long time to reach 50% and then suddenly it's done. You're likely good

Correct. Also, I would hold off on any feedback until the whole package of updates is pushed. This is only 2/4...
Yes, it would be good to start new thread for any issues / feedback on this & the subsequent connected updates.

Hmm, they eliminated the Average miles/kw on the display? Or am I missing that I have to turn it on somewhere? I always like seeing that
its missing, I do like seeing that readily on that screen. I find it useful while driving.

It is done. Installing is faster than download.

Just got the update notice a couple of minutes ago (7:38 EDT). Estimated load time 115 minutes . . . but there was no instruction to leave the key fob in the car as others have reported. Same download procedures as earlier updates.
On the control panel in the car the instructions tell you to leave the key fobs in the car. In the app I don't think it was as clear. But then again, As soon as the update popped up, I just hit install, didn't read a thing. Was too excited.

Anyone else NOT gotten
Not yet here either.
@milgauss and @DolphinTale - Did you get the first of the updates last week? Did you get an acknowledgment from me that you were 'on the list' (as a reply to your DM)? Everyone who was on the initial list should have received the push by now. I did have to cut things off after I got 100 folks... But if you got a note from me saying you were in I need to do some digging.

Has anyone else who was confirmed to be on the list not seen this latest update?

I’ll race you, Doppelgänger!

What's the indication the update failed? It would be useful to know if this happens to others in the future. Did you ask @Firstto520 and his team to re-send it to you? Thanks.

Certainly this is very disappointing, especially when it happens to a Forum Moderator.
Its a message in the car where you normally see the about information and where you can hit the update button. I sent screen shots to the team.
No other indication that it failed. The screens and such had already changed and the user interface was loads faster. The fix was quick after I sent the info to Lucid.

Make sure your key fob is in the car for this latest update. Mine was not but I’m not sure what the consequences will be. They really need to make the requirements for each update more clear from the app. Like warn you of the things you need to do before you start them. Like “unplug car” and “keep keys in the car” and then make you reconfirm you’re ready for the update. Not bury that info in the “learn more” link

Id be very surprised if there wasn’t a way to update the keyfob post the car updating… (even if it’s just a silent update with no user interaction).

Key doesn’t need to be in car. The next time you drive after the update ( I think for over 10 minutes or so ) , the key will update also .

it will update after the fact once its in the car for at least 10 minutes. If you read the thread, several people made the same comments and several answered the concern.

No Lucid dream but I woke up and found that wonderful little dot and a pushed notification on my phone. Update started at 6:27 AM PST while my car is at the detailer getting its PPF installed. His shop is usually closed on Sundays so I hope he is not comiing in today to do any touchup work since I am supposed to pick it up tomorrow. The update is via LTE. Fingers crossed!
1:45 later, I am up to 37% using LTE at my detailer's shop. Fingers still crossed....

I initiated the download from the Pilot Panel, not from the app. As I had read earlier posts about leaving the key fob in the car, I read each instruction screen carefully to see what was said about the key fob. There was no mention of leaving the fob in the car in my download instructions.

I initiated mine from the app, when clicking “learn more” before initiating it was in there for me. Interesting about the pilot panel. Hopefully your screen freezes cease!

My 2.0.5 download was successful, and I've had a chance to try out some of the changes. My observations / questions:

  • The screens came up faster.
  • Having the icons moved from the right side to the left side of the Glass Cockpit right panel improves their access considerably.
  • There were no music dropouts on the stretches of roads where we were seeing consistent dropouts earlier.
  • Alexa actually found the addresses I asked for in the Nav system and programmed the routes correctly. However, I was not presented with alternate routes.
  • Having turn instructions displayed in the center binnacle is very helpful.
  • I miss the m/kWh display and hope it returns with subsequent updates.
  • The satellite map displays are much dimmer than before, and I cannot find a way to brighten them without using the slider bar on the main menu that will make the other screens too bright. Can the maps be independently brightened?
  • I drove the car on major 6-lane surface streets with clear lane markings but could not get Highway Assist (self-steering) to engage. Is it geo-fenced to work only on major highways such as interstates?
  • The Homelink menu still doesn't come up automatically when backing out of the garage (as it does in our Tesla), requiring several button pushes to lower the garage door when leaving the house.
  • And no screen freezes so far . . . although they were usually happening only every few days before.
