New Bugs Since 3.5.1

The car "trapped" me inside twice so far. After getting in it would just randomly lock and turn off all screens. First time I opened the door with manual door latch release which ended with car alarm going off. When it happened 2nd time I spammed unlock button on the key fob and once it finally unlocked everything was fine. Reported this issue to SWFeedback back in February.

Yep, my screens went black, too, when the door froze shut.

Everything about the Gravity door operation and car start-up was and remains a hot mess.

There is literally a loose bolt rolling around inside the passenger door in this Gravity. I cannot believe how bad the QA is on these.

I took the newer Gravity to the grocery store today. When I went to the garage it took the car 36 seconds to recognize the key fob and unlock (I timed it this time.). But at least I was then able to get underway.

When I came out of the grocery store there was again a lengthy delay before the car would unlock. But I loaded the rear cargo area, closed it using the button on the hatch, and got into the car. Even though the car had opened the door from the key fob, I had the "key fob not detected" message. As always, shaking the fob as instructed did nothing. Then the car wouldn't go into gear (same as yesterday). So I had to get out of the car and start over. This time everything seemed okay until I tried to back out and found I the backup camera display frozen. I "x'ed" it out and now had a warning that the rear hatch was open. I had heard it click shut when it closed, but I got back out of the car, anyway, and pressed the hatch hard with both hands. I got back into the car, but now it was again showing the "key fob not detected message" and refusing to go into gear. I had to pull out my key card and place it on the phone charger.

I was finally able to head back home, but again only after several minutes of trying to get underway.

This car has now become virtually unusable for running errands.

If this happens, take the battery out of the fob and reinsert in. I have never had that fail.

“Shoulds” aside, I have found that workaround works. Moreover, it still only happens to one of our two fobs. Have you had them replaced?

I thought of you when i was trying to figure out what was rolling around in this loaner gravity. Turns out it something broken off inside the door itself that rolls around every time i turn or accelerate

the faith and patience you have for your Gravity cars is....immeasurable. I would've given up long ago and started lemoning it

hes going through the phase i did, I actually started my lemon claim then decided not to pursue it because I thought "this last time was the last time", but then it came back broken a 3rd time after over 2 months and I decided enough was enough and had to start over. It takes like 4-6 months, and Lucid corporate is not at all cool about it, they go after you too even if you are legally entitled to repurchase they will fight it anyways.

But how can the fob unlock the doors (although it takes a while) but then cause the car not to go into gear? The car is either seeing it or not, right? I was assuming this was a separate bug that sometimes occurs coincidentally. And would it have anything to do with the rear hatch not fully latching?

Really just sounds like a poor connection to me. Weak signal that comes and goes...

Hoping to get an update soon. Bugs starting to reappear…headlight error every time I get in the car, start up screen getting slower, half of the time easy entry exit gets turned off, reduced braking performance alert pops up almost daily, wipers automatically turn on even though I keep them in off, switching screens are noticeably slower.

The put the car in gear, the car needs to detect the fob inside the car.

To unlock the door, you can press the unlock button from a block away. It's probably a different channel than UWB.

Anything that measures distance requires a real time computer and software. It really feels to me they're trying to control this whole thing in a software that's not real time. To open the trunk from the fob, I could measure a delay from 2 to 7 seconds. Anything that's real time would never have this variance.

The software that reads the parking sensors are also ridiculously delayed. I open my garage door and quite a few seconds later, I put the car in gear. The camera app comes alive instantly screaming that I'm too close to the garage door, that's open already. Quite pathetic.

I totally agree with your observation on many many features of this car not being in real time processing, or maybe they just don't know how to do it correctly.....yet.
Also, my software experience is getting worse literally every day, with many issues exactly the same as posted on this thread, which I've not experienced before.
It really feels like Lucid is sending bugs OTA without version update, there must be a reason the car is "phoning home" gigabytes of data every day.
I wonder if it's possible to completely cut it off from the mothership after a next update, just to see what happens.

Not a chance in the world. They are focusing on new features to attract new customers, they don't seem to prioritize existing owners at all.
This will take a major update where the change log will have only one line:
- ROBUSTNESS

Try to watch a single YouTube review that wasn't done 8-9 months ago prior to many of the fixes though.

That's what is out there. Many people considering this car go to YouTube or Reddit to have an idea of what people are talking about. The key fob fiasco is omnipresent. It's so bad that AI models are picking up on that and being trained with that knowledge. How many sales have they lost solely because of that? I'd bet it's a lot!

Folks in this forum paying attention to the latest developments and the nuances are the minority.

If you've been following this thread, you will see that many owners are still having trouble opening, starting, and locking their Gravities. And in many of the cars, such as one of ours, earlier problems that had receded (such as key fob issues) have returned since the 3.5.1 update along with some new problems entirely.

I have been but saying that you can't find a review that doesn't complain about software bugs when those reviews are way out of date software-wise at this point is a bit of a misleading reference for all of this.

I'm still baffled why some cars are seemingly fine while others are a complete mess if we're all running the same software versions.
