New App

...I thought my car's image was jail-cell bars, but it's actually a black curtain that sort of "moves in the breeze" a little, black-on-black. I'm jealous folks get a car image...
I'd be interested in seeing a screenshot of your car's image (the black curtain) if you have the time.

Can you disconnect your charging cable? I don't think the car displays when the cable is connected.
Interesting! Alright, I'll give it a shot.

WOT?!!!

And it's the right color! WINNER!
Well, well well! The game is afoot! "Heating Surfaces" are still steering-wheel only, however, for now.
I find the pre-heating climate tends to turn on heated seats and steering wheel anyway if it's below 30 deg. F.
Once temp is above 45 deg. F, it tends to shut off on its own. I think that might be the software threshold.

OK, now force stop it and restart the app.
Hopefully you'll get something like this - multiple options for heating surfaces.

No dice. Even restarted device entirely, and powered on/off. I guess I could uninstall and re-install it?

This is a bug specific to DEs. Mine and @hydbob’s is like this too.

@marqie could you get this fixed for those <520 of us for whom its broken? <3

I'm always impressed Lucid performs rapid repairs digitally, truly. I mean, door handle strength to deal with ice? Fixed. Wow. They programmed a LOT into mechanical bits that would otherwise be simply an actuator with a voltage; that they could send increased voltage via the computer, that they accounted for that, is a bit "Lotus" but in a good way. When the 2005-2006 Elise came out, they had a fix for a sticky tachometer that wouldn't drop back to zero by pressing a series of buttons at-once until they could get a new supplier for the binacle. Nice.

It's not lost on me that Peter Rawlinson designed and engineered the Lotus Elise, my other favorite car. That car was heavily inspired by the Imola, which he had built with some friends and which featured a similar bonded-aluminum construction to save weight and boost rigidity.

Basically, any time Peter builds a car, apparently I'm gonna buy it.

That is a great color! Which color is it?

I believe it is Eureka Gold. They do a fantastic job painting, unlike some other electric car manufacturer that rhymes with Snessla.
I think it would benefit Lucid to go the Lotus Elise path and offer 31 flavors. I always wanted a Moonstone SC Elise. I know the guy who has the one but he won't sell.

Am I alone in liking the new features of the updates Android app but generally disliking the UI of it? Some things l liked about the old app that were removed/changed:
- There's no indicator on the main screen of the app saying that it is trying to wake the car. I've only seen that when I click to try and turn on climate or unlock the doors etc
- They removed the external temperature from the climate screen
- If you are in the charging screen, you can't see the current SOC. That's only on the main screen
- In the charging section, the only way to set the charge limit is by moving the slider. There's no quick link or way to press a button for daily or distance. The old app had those presets for 80% and 100% respectively. I don't know if it's my phone screen or my dexterity but I have a tough time getting the slider to stay where I want it. It always moves a few % up or down from where I'm trying to set it when I lift my finger off the slider. I'd love to have the quick links back or be able to type in the % I want to set.

Hm, mine definitely spins a spinner and says 'Waking up' when I load the app. But I'm on iOS and can't confirm anything about Android.

True. They only show the cabin temp now. This seems to have been an intentional choice, as people would only care about the comfort inside the cabin. Not like you can control the weather.

I did kinda like it though, even if it has no actual use to me whatsoever, haha.

True; they should rename that Charging Settings or something, since that's actually what that screen is.

I move the slider slow, and there are six dots at 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, and 100%. You can't click on daily or distance anymore because Daily is a range of 50-80%, and Distance is a range of 80%-100%.

As you move over the 10%-increment dots, the iPhone gives you haptic feedback (vibrates), with extra feedback at 80%, so you know where to stop. It doesn't stop giving you the feedback until you take your finger off. It may still go up a percent or to as you remove your finger, but I haven't actually had that issue more than once or twice, and it's easy to adjust.

I do think the option of a textbox to put in a percentage would also be good, but I do prefer this to the 'tap' version.
