negative feedback

I’m on vacation right now, miss my Lucid….itching to drive it. Even after 2.5 years I have this feeling.

The best sport sedan ever made! Beats the might M5.

If you love driving, this is the car for you. Lucid got the mechanical and electrical engineering spot on. Software can always be improved on, and Lucid is improving it.Once you mess up mechanical engineering, you can’t rectify that.

Short and sweet.....I was an early adopter on the Air and while the car was by no means perfect (tell me what EV is though) I just upgraded to the Gravity. That should say it all.
What did you do with your Air?

When can we see a Negative feedback thread for Gravity? 😆

Congrats man, that car is a spaceship on earth.

It’s inevitable that one will show up in future but compared to what was delivered when the Air was launched the Gravity is in a MUCH better place.

The Air will be compatible with Tesla SCs but will only achieve 50kW speeds due to compatibility issues with the 900v architecture. So it’s more of a safety net than an option.

I’m curious if Air will adopt the architecture from Gravity?

Anyhow if Tesla network is important in your decision be aware of the limitation.

At high speed CCS1 chargers it will obviously do quite well.

Was about to place an order and got an avalanche of negative feedback about the Lucid. people warning me away in the strongest terms. anybody dealt with this or have insight into where all this vitriol is coming from?
Also is it possible to use the Tesla chargers and super chargers. I get different feedback. Thank you very much
Is anyone warning you away in the "strongest terms" a Lucid owner? I suspect not. My Lucid Air GT is a 2022 now with 52,000 miles. It's been great. My favorite I have ever owned. BTW, just for context, I also have 2 Teslas, a Rivian R1S, a gasoline Mercedes and a Porsche Boxster in my garage. The Lucid has had no significant service issues in over 3 years of ownership. Lots of software upgrades which were much needed in the early years. Now, in mid-2025, the software is stable and while different than Rivian and Tesla, it is not overall worse in my view. All three American built EV only companies Lucid, Rivian and Tesla have pros and cons to their software suite. To me, overall, they are about on par with each other. But if you look at driving, accelleration, range, comfort and luxury, Lucid is the easy winner over Tesla and Rivian. Our family has driven all three brands for years.

My advice, if you want the best EV sedan on the planet, get a Lucid Air. If you want the best SUV on the planet, get a Lucid Gravity.

Oh, one more thing... The Lucid Gravity already has access to all Tesla Superchargers and has the same plug (NACS). The Air has the CCS plug but can charge at Tesla with an adapter. Lucid has not yet announced that the Air can charge at Tesla yet, but its coming. The Gravity can charge at Tesla superchargers already. Good luck with your decision.

Older Tesla Superchargers are not available to NACS cars. Only the newer V3 and coming V4 Superchargers can be used by NACS cars.

The Supercharger locator on the Tesla website has a filter that shows which Superchargers are accessible to "NACS Partners" brands:

Here are all the Tesla Superchargers in the U.S.:

If you focus on lower-population areas (such as the Dakotas, Wyoming, Colorado, upper New England), you'll notice significantly fewer NACS-accessible chargers. This is because those are low-use areas where Tesla has not invested in updating the chargers they installed in early years of the network build-out.

My only concern wrt Airs is the number of complaints about unlocking the car with BT or the fob. Has that improved in your view? Do the 2025 vehicles have the same issue?

I have no problem with the key FOB. Open the front door car unfold mirror, handle and greets me with lighting. Close the front door it goes to sleep.

Only sometimes if I approach from the back it would wait til I pass the back pax door to wake up.

I operate frunk and truck with key FOB no issue.

I like the minimal design of FOB which stays in my pocket most of the time, the button is abit stiff if I press at the wrong place but that's understandable to prevent unintended pressing.

The fob works fine for me. I think most of the complaints there are are from people who want a fob with several buttons, rather than a single button you single-click, double-click, hold, or click and hold.

Fob works fine. So does mobile key, if you don’t mind tapping or unlocking your phone to wake Bluetooth up.

If you press the handle, it works even better.

It’s fine. Is it ideal? No. But it’s fine.

My advice is to drive an Air or Gravity then decide for yourself. You may want to inquire of those who have warned you if they own an Air. My AGT is be far the best car I have owned, including Porsche Panamera GTSs, 991 Turbo S, multiple Audis, MBs and a rock solid BME 650i convertible. It has brilliant suspension, space and has been a superior driving experience in all conditions from snow, with winter compound tires, to 100 plus degree weather on mountain roads and flat interstates.

Yes it has improved greatly. Not an issue for me anymore if you carry the fob. My car is a 2022. I think it was all a software issue. But the 2025 may be better than my older car.

Most of what I'd say has already been said. I will simply add that I have owned Audi's, Tesla's, BMW's, Alfa Romeos, Ferrari's, Honda's, Toyota's, Subaru's, Hyundai's and Chevy's. My 2025 Air GT is the best car I have ever owned. Full Stop. Oh, and the customer service I have experienced has been better than what I received from all of the above as well...by a long shot.

Nailed it. Similar car ownership history over the past ~50 years. Same conclusions about Lucid.

And you are by no means a fanboy, have been forthcoming about experiences-yes even the less than perfect ones, and here you are with another launch product from Lucid. That definitely says a lot about Lucid as a company including the staff, the owner experience, and most of all the excellent vehicles they have designed and manufactured from the ground up. All of this and they are only a handful of years in!
