Mismatch in body paint/fascia?

A couple of days ago, my son and I flew to Houston to pick up my Air Touring. It is painted in Quantum Silver Metallic and I noticed that the trunk didn't match the door, mostly on the passenger side. The sparkle/metallic finish was much denser, with more sparkles per inch, and the sparkles seem to have "pooled" in some areas. It looked like it had been sprayed with a heavy hand by a different person, or repainted.

There were also about 10 scratches on the hood, trunk, and a side mirror, plus a tiny chip on the driver's door. After a lot of back and forth between me, the delivery person, the delivery manager (by phone) and the service manager (who only spoke by phone to the on-site delivery person), the detailers came back to work and took out all of the scratches, except one on the front chrome which was added to the Due Bill. The chip on the driver's door was more or less fixed still with a clear-coat chip but much less visible. Since I drive and park the car all over New Orleans, I'm expecting more chips in the future.

However, the service manager texted my delivery person to say that paint mismatching between the body and trunk was normal because the panels were made from different materials‽ He said they wouldn't do anything about it. The delivery person even showed me the text from the service manager. Since we were excited to get the car and didn't have return plane tickets, I kind of let the trunk thing go and accepted the car. Now it's annoying me. I'm wondering if I did the right thing accepting the car.

Am I being unreasonable about the color issue?

Despite the crappy delivery experience, I am liking the car and glad to be out of my Musk-mobile. It out performs my Model S in pretty much every way.
Ahhhh. I'd push back on that one. That mismatch is fairly apparent. And I've seen them match those colors better.

Escalate if you have to. Politely, but firmly.

Thanks, @joec. That's what I plan to do. Fingers crossed!
It’s worth noting that they’re not lying about the material making a massive difference though; if you sprayed the exact same paint on plastic and on aluminum, it would look like a different color.

Color matching like this is a pain, and so often why repainted bumpers and the like are a slightly different shade.

I’d also push back a bit, since this one seems pretty obvious to the naked eye, but it is true that the material would make it look different. That doesn’t make it unnecessary to fix though. :)
