It appears that the issue that I was experiencing is that there are 'certain states' that the referral program 'is not available in' and that is why the links don't work properly. Um, yeah... Ok...

Virginia and Ohio do not allow referral programs, if you happen to live in either of those states.

Well yeah. There are many states that outlaw such programs.

Apple can’t sell AppleCare in Florida, for instance.

Having said that, the links should probably still go somewhere, I’m guessing.

Ah! That's definitely a good bug; while Lucid fixes that, go lobby your lawmakers to allow referral programs.
