Hi there, we were minutes away from driving a few hours to the nearest Lucid location to pick up our Air, when I got a call saying "they were touching up the paint yesterday and they broke the rear windshield (how?!), sorry I didn't call you sooner". Now, needless to say I'm kind of pissed, seeing as we shuffled around our entire week only to be told minutes before we were supposed to leave, but my main question is, is this normal for Lucid? Should we expect a similar experience to our terrible experiences with Tesla service?

I don't think it is normal. What is normal, for traditional carmakers, is to pretend it never happened. "Oh, it is caught up in the depot, it will be a few more days" etc. Kudos for Lucid for telling its customer what it did and that it is fixing it.

Yeah I'm really impressed! They apologized profusely and will be delivering the car directly to us rather than having us drive to them. :)

I'm in my 70's and have been driving since ~14yo. "Drivin ' every kinda rig that's ever been maaaaadddde" Service indy and dealers from chevy/ford/dodge/lexus/audi/bmw/mercedes, and do-it-myself. Had three mobile service visits and one take-away to a center.
Lucid is without peer in this respect. I always thought Lexus was the best but never needed service on any of the Lexus I owned ~ 22 years so can't really say what Lexus service is like.

I feel like the integrity of Peter Rawlinson imbews throughout the company. At least for now ... before capitalism ruins it.

"...before capitalism ruins it"......no comment.

If there was no capitalism, there would be no Lucid.
