If you run Home Assistant at home, we built something for you. Lucid Nexus is a free dashboard that shows your Lucid in 3D and keeps it in sync with the real car. We built and tuned it on our own Gravity.

What it does
  • The car mirrors your car. Open a door, the frunk or the trunk and it opens on screen. Windows sit where the car says they are, the mirrors fold when you lock, the handles present when you unlock, and the lamps play the lock and unlock sequence.
  • Wrap Studio. Try factory paints or any colour, in gloss, satin or matte, plus wheels, window tint, ride height and upholstery colour, on your own car. On screen only; it never changes the car.
  • Charging as it happens. Plug in and the camera swings to the port, the flap opens, the cable seats, and you get live charging power, time to full and range added, with a Stop button.
  • Driving view. Shift out of Park and the road moves at your actual speed. Controls that would command the car lock while it's moving.
  • Climate and seats. Cabin temperature and every heated or ventilated seat and the steering wheel, one tap away.
  • Smaller cards for dashboards you already have: battery and range strip, key, charging, driving stats, map and more.

It works on a wall tablet, a desktop or your phone (including the Home Assistant app). Paint, wheels and the Dream Edition badges match what your car reports.

What you need
A setup card finds your car's entities and builds the dashboard for you in one tap.

Models: the Gravity is fully supported. Air and Sapphire support is in early access and hasn't been checked against a real car yet. If you own one, your feedback is what will finish them.

Privacy: everything goes through your own Home Assistant and the Lucid Motors integration; the dashboard never contacts Lucid's servers itself.

Free and MIT-licensed, nothing for sale, not affiliated with Lucid. Questions, bug reports and real-car feedback welcome here or on GitHub.

How often does this query the car (which would wake the car up I think)?

This does not ever directly query the car. It talks to the Lucid cloud servers and gets the latest info from there. If the car is asleep, it keeps reporting the same obsolete info until the car reconnects.

The Lucid Nexus card does not query anything itself, but it is built on top of the Lucid Motors Integration and that does the querying.

Just installed on one of my pi’s
I did have to add early_access_ack: true to get connected after login

Oh and which version will apply the changes from the app? Will it be this year?

So we only tested this against the gravity but if people can let us know which features are missing that are present in the official lucid app we can look into adding them as we polish the air side of things and release future versions, that is as long as it's a feature that the integration and the official lucid api which the integration pulls its data from supports it.

exactly as maractwin says, the card reports as asleep and you can manually wake it but the card itself never automatically disturbs its slumber as to reduce battery drain. what we did is created a staleness timer that counts up to let you know when it last was awake.

Well so far I got a glimpse of an Air but that was quickly replaced by a Gravity.
No 3d view but I see that my car is plugged in and the port is open

eek! we're currently working on at least getting the air 3d model to correctly be sensed and displayed right now, fix is coming hopefully today

As you have time, what I’ve seen so far is pretty interesting. I would suggest a bit stronger contrast, so no grey font on a black background kind of thing.

Update: v0.3.33 is out. Thanks to everyone who tried it and reported back!

Air and Sapphire owners: you no longer need the early_access_ack line. Your car loads straight away, with a small EARLY ACCESS badge in the corner. If you added the line, you can delete it; leaving it in does no harm.

Fair warning: expect some glitches. The Gravity needed a lot of real-car fixes before it looked right, and the Air and Sapphire haven't had those yet. Screenshots of anything that looks off are the most useful thing you can send, here or on GitHub: https://github.com/Terablo/lucid-nexus/issues

  • Fixed: Gravity pictures showing up for Air owners (the preview, the top-down view, the update screen). They now show your own car's name.
  • Changed: the smaller cards default to the black and tan look of the main dashboard.
  • Removed for now: the Map card, which wasn't ready. If you added it, remove it from your dashboard.

Update in HACS and reload your browser.

we can implement a high contrast mode where those pieces of text which are more subtle are no longer as subtle. the original concept for the design was to have certain key and important pieces of information regarding the status' of the car to be "loud" and stand out so the eye is more drawn to them to create less clutter for the eye, but its feedback like this which is great and helps build a great product everyone can enjoy and easily use so we appreciate the feedback.

First legible then highlight
So pick a font (oh oh) and size then enhance with highlights, bold, backlight, etc. But if you can’t read it then users get frustrated and stop being users :-)

Now then excuse me while I put my helmet on.
Serif or sans serif?

Comic sans anyone?

Done! Thank you for pointing us towards that

Well we do currently have an interface size setting (settings are located in the vehicle info panel at the very bottom where the minimap and odometer are) but its overall definitely a work in progress with any ideas and feedback are very welcome, we want it to be the best it can be

We have 4 open PR's for some small improvements, got a few more we can get over to you still. BTW if you want we can push you or you can pull in the nexus-card as an option directly. Not sure if it's a feux-pais to mix integration with cards. We just opened a PR to ask for HACs listing.

@AutoBear I saw your post on Reddit this morning and was waiting until I got off work to install this. Once I got home and looked up the post to find the details I discovered that your account got banned over there. Can you share why it got banned?

EDIT: I was worried that maybe they found something nefarious in the code and that was why your account got banned. I realize now that my assumption was silly. I doubt any of the moderators over there would go so far as to review your code and then ban you afterward. So I pointed claude at the github repo and it cloned the repo and reviewed the code. It didn't find anything suspicious and gave it a clean bill of health in terms of security. I'm going to go ahead and install it and report back any issues I run into. I fully acknowledging that this is a young repo and that bugs still need to be worked out. I think it looks really cool and hope you continue to maintain it.
