I was kinda hoping a mid-size sedan would do it, since the Air Pure is already at 5, if it was stripped out and shrank down 15% with a smaller RWD battery. I missed maybe there is no RWD Mid-size vehicle. Rivian has 2 RWD trims for R2 that are the lower cost versions.Interesting that the 6.0 miles / kwh efficiency target was one of the potential targets for the Lunar concept. Looks like Rawlinson's efficiency dream could be achievable (or be really close to it)
I think RWD midsize is very much still possible. Some slides were explicitly stating terms like "Lucid Cosmos AWD", so a RWD version might be under consideration.I was kinda hoping a mid-size sedan would do it, since the Air Pure is already at 5, if it was stripped out and shrank down 15% with a smaller RWD battery. I thought he meant it took 4 minutes to agree on how they were going to eliminate a bunch of it. Not installation. Anyone else hear it that way?I found Zach's comment on the wiring harness particularly interesting. It took them 4 minutes to install the entire harness!
With big teeth!Stylized California Bear on side of RoboTaxi are both facing forward...
This is a show for the Saudis and no one else. These guys are auditioning for their own jobs/funding basically.By the way, funny watching this investor stuff as a customer: Lucid: "We have many ways to make more money from customers...upgrades, software, accessories..."
I'm like, "Yeah, charge 'em and make a ton!" Wait...you're going to make that money off of me??? lol
Capitalism requires a company provide perceived value and make a profit doing it.By the way, funny watching this investor stuff as a customer: Lucid: "We have many ways to make more money from customers...upgrades, software, accessories..."

Or it could be a revised version of what they originally presented to PIF for the recent refunding process and PIF called "bulls**t!"This is a show for the Saudis and no one else. These guys are auditioning for their own jobs/funding basically.
There is a lot of BS here cuz there’s actually no new product or any actually solid improvements showcased at all. So far Lucid has failed to execute in critical areas (delivery and service), time will tell if this will be better.Or it could be a revised version of what they originally presented to PIF for the recent refunding process and PIF called "bulls**t!"
Incredible CapEx during the buildout of a manufacturing and sales and service network. So, money has been put in the ground, now it's time to reduce costs on BOM and, probably the most significant expense, the R&D costs leading up the three products ("Fixed cost absorption"). The market liked the financial presentation better than the first part of the presentation, but there are allot of cost reductions that hinge on tapping the mid-size market. They won't have any kind of volumes until well into 2027, so those cost reductions/rationalizations won't come into play until then. Nothing is changing this year - they'll need more funding to get to the end zone and PIF will have to provide that. I'm still cautiously optimistic! There is a lot of BS here cuz there’s actually no new product or any actually solid improvements showcased at all. It was indoor…..but they should gave just showed recording, but no big deal…it’s a future product and I’m sure they will upgrade connectivity if neededIt never fails - doing a live demo of software to a large audience is asking for trouble.
The Lucid Assistant demo failed due to poor connectivity, so they resorted to a recorded video.![]()
What else do you expect? A midsize reveal? They showed roadmap for software, future products, explained cost advantages, reduced BOM costs. There is a lot of BS here cuz there’s actually no new product or any actually solid improvements showcased at all. Yeah, I didn't say I expected them to offer it as a retrofit, just hoped that they would. If that's what the fin in the teaser picks really is, then it's basically an admission that they screwed up by not including it in the first place. It's been a standard feature in the vast majority of nicer vehicles (and even many no-so-nice) sold in the US for 2 decades, which is what makes the omission rather glaring. It's not a "new feature" like the type of stuff you're talking about. It's something $30k cars have had for ages. I'm surprised Lucid left it out. I would have thought a consistent audio feed would be something they thought about. But alas...I get your point, however automobiles are subject to continuous improvements. A Chevy equinox or Suburban produced at the beginning of the model year is not the same vehicle produced at the end of the same model year. Changes are always being made and none of them are offered to previous customers. EV buyers are spoiled because we see CCV2 upgrades offered to keep the hardware up to date, we have OTA updates to features and functions.
Lucid may work harder at making the existing antenna better, but they zero responsibility to retrofit cars with new hardware. Maybe we'll see a shark fin on 2027 models. That is just progress, not a trick. They learned something and fix it for the future.
I remember the 60's, when every car looked completely new every year, making the prior year look old and out of date. Hell, Apple puts "new" processors in their phones every year. Easy to upgrade - buy a new one.
Yes, a midsize reveal was kind of expected given they had an hour long segment for it and promised delivery by end of year. They never confirmed they will show it, but it seems really odd not to. Hard to get excited on all these promises without seeing what the actual vehicle will look like. Just sounds like a kid talking about this amazing girlfriend he has...that goes to a different school, obviously. What else do you expect? A midsize reveal? Ghosh, you want a flying car?
Not sure what you were expecting?? They detailed multiple new products and strategies. We knew they were going to have dedicated launch days for each of the midsize vehicles. There is a lot of BS here cuz there’s actually no new product or any actually solid improvements showcased at all. Maybe for a small sedan, but not for crossovers or SUV’s….no point making a small sedan with 6 miles/kwh if no one buys it.Interesting that the 6.0 miles / kwh efficiency target was one of the potential targets for the Lunar concept. Looks like Rawlinson's efficiency dream could be achievable (or be really close to it)
You don’t show it now when you are trying to ramp up Gravity sales.Yes, a midsize reveal was kind of expected given they had an hour long segment for it and promised delivery by end of year. Same here. I like driving, and I prefer to steer myself. I don't even use lane-centering. Maybe it's because the roads in my region are often bad, but one thing I'm constantly doing while driving is making minor steering tweaks to avoid the potholes and bumps in the road. But moreover, I just don't like handing steering over to the car. Speed control is fine though.I'm pretty sure I won't be paying for higher level of autonomy with ADAS.
My faith in DD2 continues to grow with each use.
The execution is there, my faith needs to match it.
Younger generations (generation AI) will have no problems with it.
Give me a chill pill and I'll let my grandchildren drive me around in 10 -20 years.
