Lucid Investor Day - March 12, 2026

Seems like most automakers use AT&T. I suppose like all carriers, it's just hit-and-miss on coverage. Which is why some people seem to have no problem with streaming (coverage where they drive must be fine). For me it's maddening having something as basic as car audio cutting in and out frequently.

I wonder if they could use all 3 major networks, and switch on the fly to whichever one is working at the time? Probably cost more, and take additional hardware, but might be worth it when making such a basic function so dependent on connectivity.

Or perhaps they can use the driver's cell phone connection for backup internet connectivity?
Cost for hardware, sure but its probably marginal to have a modem that is quad band or tri band or however many band there are these days.

The bigger issue is negotiating a contract for each of these carriers. Its incredibly redundant to have each car have a cellular contract with three carriers. That's 3x the cost for something you are only going to be using one at a time.

I'm confused about the autonomy roadmap. The presenter mentioned hands free highway and city driving specifically for Gravity and Cosmos in 2027. L3 eyes off driving in 2028, and L4 hands off, eyes off and mind off by 2029. Does this mean that Air owners WON'T get hands off city driving, L3 or L4? Was our DDPro purchase with 32 sensors, integrating cameras, radar, ultrasonic sensors, and LiDAR a waste?
This was my take. No hands free city planned for Air. Looks like poverty DDPro is now locked in for Air.

Kind of funny that "Lucid AI Assistant" is described as coming in 2026. A tacit admission that the current SoundHound-powered AI assistant doesn't work?
Shouldn’t be a surprise. We all know the current implementation sucks. I’m excited for a better one.

This is a show for the Saudis and no one else. These guys are auditioning for their own jobs/funding basically.
This is a show for investors. The PIF is one such example, yes, but the pitch is to all Lucid investors.

Notably, though, this pitch is not for customers. That is a different audience, though customers can certainly glean lots of info.

Hey Siri, give me a different name for “soccer mom, yuppie, and Toyota 4Runner driver”

What a joke of an “investor day”. Instead of 1 new car that doesn’t exist, how about THREE new cars that don’t exist!
I believe that Lucid called it "Lucid Investor Day 2026" because they wanted to make their case about the strength of Lucid Motors to current, and potential, investors. From what I've seen of the presentation they did a reasonably good job of accomplishing that. I expect that, soon enough, they'll announce a "Lucid Shows Off A Bunch Of New Cars Day 2026."

Same here. I like driving, and I prefer to steer myself. I don't even use lane-centering. Maybe it's because the roads in my region are often bad, but one thing I'm constantly doing while driving is making minor steering tweaks to avoid the potholes and bumps in the road. But moreover, I just don't like handing steering over to the car. Speed control is fine though.

Hopefully that "revenue opportunity" (subscriptions) graphic is referring mostly to autonomy features, not entertainment. I would guess that's the case.
Most definitely making steering tweaks to avoid potholes.
I wish ADAS had pothole avoidance!
That 6,000 lbs. on 21/22s with 45/40 sidewalls is no match for large potholes.

Exactly. Lucid gave an investor day, and I got out of it exactly what I was hoping to hear about and then some.

And now, the waiting game for the official Lucid Cosmos (and maybe Earth) reveal event

One can only hope that, in the interest of simplicity, they did not outline the Air roadmap to satisfy the lesser, but clear PROMISES made to those of us who paid for more of the L2 and at least basic L3 functionality than we have today. That, or they will be facing one heckuva lot of unhappy early adopters. And please, you revisionists out there... their promises were clear. They can be watered down in subsequent presentations all they want, but that does not make them go away.

Personally I think big autonomy subscriptions will fall pretty flat for the regular public.
If Tesla can't even sell it without rigging basic autopilot to it, then nobody else can either.

I'm also not convinced consumers care about efficiency when its "up to" anyways. Lucids are just like all the other EV's, worse than rated under most conditions. I feel like they should focus more on their bespoke interiors, build quality, ride quality, customer service (SC issues aside, they are very easy to deal with), and aesthetic design. Forget about minor efficiency stuff, forget about Atmos and whatever imaginarly LLM they were talking about. Throw some Bose in there, Carplay/Android Auto/Siri/Google, and let er rip.

"poor connectivity"

Ironic. That's one of my biggest complaints with my Gravity.
The cellular internet on the Gravity is AT&T 4G LTE. Just confirmed that this week, when the Lucid tech was here. I can imagine your connectivity experience depends a lot on how good AT&T cellular is in the places you live and drive. I know from our camping excursions that there are many smaller communities that are only served well by one carrier. I suppose Lucid could provide connectivity through multiple carriers, depending on signal strength (unlikely). As an alternative, perhaps they could let you designate your cell phone or another device as the default car internet connection. Just spitballing here.

You’re missing the point. Of course a consumer doesn’t care about efficiency; they care about range.

The benefit of focusing on efficiency (and why this is in an investor presentation) is that you can get higher range with a smaller battery. A smaller battery both costs less to produce and enables selling vehicles at a lower price.

And consumers very much care about lower prices.

Can confirm both Air and Gravity are AT&T 4G LTE at present.

Does anyone know where I can watch a replay of the investor day?
I was pulled into a meeting half way through it and I can’t play it again, the link to (Listen to Webcast) now shows a 15-minute loading video instead.

FWIW, investors don't seem too impressed with Investor Day. Stock is down 7% today so far. (Overall market down 1%.) 😞
Yeah there was precious little tangible information on the plan and concrete numbers on how much capital is needed to get to 2029 and how much dilution or fundraising is needed. Hopefully Fed cuts rates some more and they can do a combo of loan and share sales to balance it better.

Not working, and shows the loading video I shared above. Is it working on your side? I’ve tried multiple browsers already.
Not working now. You can however download or view a very extensive powerpoint. Tremendous amount of info.

Yes, a midsize reveal was kind of expected given they had an hour long segment for it and promised delivery by end of year. They never confirmed they will show it, but it seems really odd not to. Hard to get excited on all these promises without seeing what the actual vehicle will look like. Just sounds like a kid talking about this amazing girlfriend he has...that goes to a different school, obviously.
I was not expecting it. This was a day for investors. While obviously investors do care about future vehicle plans, an investor meeting is not the same as a customer/press focused vehicle launch event.

Sane investors price a stock based on a risk and time based discounting of future profits. While there are a lot of interesting details from the event today, I don't know that anything said would cause people to believe that profits will be sooner than they previously thought, or that the execution risk is lower than they previously thought. I imagine some of the stock drop is disappointment from naive investors who expected they'd get more certainty on one of those fronts. But probably most of it just random volatility, and not any fundamental re-evaluation of how likely Lucid is to succeed.
