Lucid Investor Day - March 12, 2026

I’m quoting Ben Thompson here, a live demonstration that failed is actually better than just starting with a canned video. It gives people something to talk about. I’m fairly certain none of us would really care about an AI assistant if it wasn’t for the failure. :)

“Claude, is any item duplicated on this slide like we did before when we shared a software road map”

🤦‍♂️
Hey Siri, give me a different name for “soccer mom, yuppie, and Toyota 4Runner driver”

What a joke of an “investor day”. Instead of 1 new car that doesn’t exist, how about THREE new cars that don’t exist!

Not even a visual representation of the Cosmo or Earth? Felt odd to talk on and on about a vehicle like if we had a visual of it. Like cool stuff, I get it, but really hard to get excited without any visual representation.

Also, how are they supposed to start rolling these out by the end of this year? Did I miss something?

Not the most confidence inspiring thing as an investor, personally speaking anyway.

They better figure out how to get MUCH more dependable internet in the Gravity before they attempt video streaming. It can't even handle consistent audio streaming yet. I get so tired of it cutting in and out (since they failed to include an integrated SXM antenna).
Notice the midsize has a "traditional" shark fin antenna on it....

Good morning from Germany,
since yesterday, i am glad to be a member in this great community. May be i will switch from Tesla to Lucid. Lets see. Acutally i cant enrole to todays investors day. Could you or somebody help me? I did follow the link and already confirmed my eMail. Greetings, Markus
Sure thing, I can post to the thread my notes after the full presentation is done

Hotspot with phone or wifi while charging (which is what I did streaming with the Tesla)
"while charging" isn't a moving car. I don't care about when the car is parked, just when it's moving, so I can get consistent audio.

If it could seamlessly tap into the phone's cell connection as backup, that would help though.

I think end of year production is simply to say they met a deadline. Customer-ready cars will be in 2027 - it is possible that employees seeing preproduction assembly line operation makes them all feel better. Hey, most of us have experienced a little bit (or more in some cases) of the bad part of starting customer-ready (?) production early...

Mid-size packaging another great step forward, they kept a large frunk by moving the wunderbox out of the front and into the cabin under the 2nd row. Of course using tiny atlas motors and small battery pack.

... and comments about the wiring harness can't be overstated - HUGE piece of weight, reliability, repairability and cost of a car. At a bare minimum, a MILE of wiring, with ICE vehicles taking up to 3 MILES of wire!

hey I'm just explaining how streaming is done in the Tesla and what's likely with Lucid coming up and that it isn't usually using the car cell service
sorry you have such issues with audio

Such cynicism and pessimism with some, continually in just about every thread they post in. Either trolling or just an unhappy disposition. Praying each day of your life gets better.

I wonder which Chinese EV they bought and dismantled for benchmarking:)

I found Zach's comment on the wiring harness particularly interesting. It took them 4 minutes to install the entire harness!
