Lucid gravity order begins Nov 7

Part of my concern is the steering squircle. After spending a year and half trying unsuccessfully to adapt to our Tesla's yoke and finally replacing it with a round wheel, I'm not sure I want to commit to an order without driving the Gravity, even if around a parking lot. I sat behind a fixed squircle at a recent event. Although it was not as extreme at the Tesla yoke, it clearly felt different from a conventional wheel. And the rim was somewhat thinner than our Air steering wheel, which feels just about perfect.
As the person currently owning a car with the steering squircle I'm not worried about this: it is very convenient, requires almost no time to adapt, and has nothing common with Tesla yoke.
But I totally support the wish to test drive before ordering. I'll most likely do the same.

Nice ride :)

But yeah, I’m not worried about the squircle either. It’s much more natural to adapt to than the yoke. Having a top and bottom is the difference when it isn’t steer by wire

Hi
Has anyone heard whether or not the captain chair seating option will be available when ordering opens? I really want that configuration and will probably wait to order if it’s not available yet.

All the images I’ve seen only show the bench seat option. Anyone see what the captain chairs configuration looks like?
Thanks

Gravity promotional materials from Lucid used to mention five- six- and seven-passenger seating, but more recent materials have only mentioned five- and seven passenger seating. Also, the computer-generated pictures of the interior on the Lucid website that showed captains chairs were removed some time ago. Word is that Lucid wanted to offer captains chairs that folded flat into the cargo floor but could not land on a design that did that (probably due to the mechanicals for the extending footrests).

According to an October 29 "Motor Trend" article:

"We're told a six-passenger Gravity with second-row captain's chairs is being considered for later on."

I, too, would prefer captains chairs but no longer think it certain they will ever appear unless Lucid decides to drop the idea of a flat cargo floor. I really don't know why they don't offer them, as buyers who really care about a flat cargo floor can opt for the second row bench seat.

Ok thanks. I also hope air suspension is available at launch.

In announcing the opening of orders on November 7, the Lucid press release specifically mentioned 3-chamber air suspension as an option on the Grand Touring. In fact, it was the only option mentioned in that release. Some press articles mentioned that the base suspension was going to be a one-chamber air suspension, but I haven't seen Lucid confirm that anywhere.

Also, don’t always assume what everyone tells you is correct. Working for a company that deals very heavily with NDA’’s, embargo’s and confidentiality we’d be extremely annoyed if a media person, influencer etc. even alluded that they had access to something. Even though they didn’t explicitly share anything the single hint of “watch this space” would be enough to get them on the shit list for future events.
You can have NDA that will prohibit them telling anything about the topic, but you can't force them to explicitly lie saying "no I haven't tested any".
Therefore I don't believe we'll have there were press tests already.

do you think guys the UX3 will be released on Nov7 along with the preorder/ production/ deliveries ? I asked Nick in X about any update coming and he said only "soon".

I’d say soon

Since Lucid started the 18-month Air lease program specifically to get people into an Air and then bridge them over to a Gravity, I'd be surprised if they don't work with lessees to deal with the late introduction of the Gravity Touring. Maybe like offering month-by-month lease extensions for those who want them?
Technically, those special leases are supposed to have "priority" to get into the Gravity, but I don't know how much I believe that. I am sure each state's contract is different, but my state has a 6 month extension option already built in (so I surmise you are right that they'll work with folks).

I’m trying to figure out if my wife’s scooter and lift will fit in the Gravity. They are in our 2 Honda Odysseys and used to be in an Acura MDX. I have a note into my old sales advisor from 2022 who is still at Lucid! Any clues from those of you who have seen the Gravity in person? Thanks so much

We have an Odyssey and have seen the Gravity in person three times. I would put the overall interior volume on a par with the Odyssey or maybe even a tad better. The cargo space configuration behind the third seat of the Gravity was similar to the Odyssey. However -- and this is just an impression -- the height of the rear hatch opening may be a bit lower in the Gravity than the Odyssey due to the rake of the Gravity's rear roof.

The two beta Gravities that were at the L.A. Auto Show last year might still be making the rounds to some Design Studios. If you could find out, maybe a sales rep could measure the opening dimensions for you? Or maybe Customer Service could find out for you?

I hope it works out.

I find it strange that they will not deliver a less expensive version until late next year. Most people who want a less expensive Gravity are not going to trade up. Realistically the first 5,000 Gravity deliveries will be well over $100,000. That market is relatively small when u look at competitors. Curious what others think???
It's marketing strategy, folks that have a larger amount of disposable income are more willing to roll the dice if you will and be an early adopter of a brand new vehicle that is being introduced to the marketplace. So Lucid gets out the higher trim level Gravity's first and this gets the brand exposure, then down the road when the $70K model comes out people in that dollar market say man I'm going to get that car, and to boot it looks just like the one I saw several months ago that costs six figures.
