What are the frequencies the EQ are set to? Is Low / Mid/ High set to 100 Hz / 1000 Hz / 10000 Hz?
Can a user predefine those?
Can an update be made for a 5-band EQ?

Here's a feature suggestion very common in higher-end cars: when the car first 'starts' the volume should take a second or so to achieve the full set volume. This keeps people from getting their ears blasted if they had it cranked up the last time they were listening and forgot to turn it down before leaving the car. Has happened to me multiple times and can scare the passengers.
Response from Bob: "We've discussed the possibility of a default volume level option (that you could opt out of) but so far it hasn't been implemented. A ramp-up could work, but if you aren't in the car to stop it from ramping it would only help so much. Thanks for the suggestion - we'll take it into consideration."

What are the specific specifications of each of the speakers in the Surround Pro? (ie. Ohms, Watts, Freq.Response (ie. 4 ohms, 40 watts, 20hz-20khz)?

Any thoughts on the option of recalibrating the Atmos to put the driver in the middle of the soundstage?
I can probably answer this question for them, this is not possible with Atmos for the same reason that you cannot adjust the listening position. It’s very different from taking a two channel source and then using the car’s DSP to move things around, Atmos essentially IS the movement, things being discretely assigned to a minimum of 7.2.4 channels before it’s delivered as a non-modifiable format that then gets uncoded by the Dolby codec.

I was wondering if there are any future plans to make the base system sound better? My car was MSRP of $135k and although it didn't have the Pro system it should still sound better than my GFs 2023 Dodge Challenger with the Alpine system. I used to be a theatre audio engineer, so I do know a bit about sound. My reference cars are 2022 BMW iX, 2022 Jeep Cherokee 4xe McIntosh system, 2024 BMW XM Bowers & Willkins. I also feel like the SSPro system does not compete with any of these. The highs and mids are just decent enough,. but the lows feel week all around .
I will say the last update helped immensely I am now able to turn the volume all the way to max without the sub trying to eject itself out of the car. Also is there any plans to offer, even at a cost Atmos in the base system as an upgrade?
Response from Colin: "Our team's goal is to deliver a standard audio system with stereo playback and acoustic performance that is competitive with other vehicles in its class. Our goal for Surreal Sound Pro is to deliver an audio system with spatial audio playback and acoustic performance that exceeds the competition. As for Atmos in the base system, there aren't enough channels to accurately represent artist intent, so we aren't currently considering this as an option."

Bob, when you joined the team last fall the Lucid audio system had a "studio" feel regarding the volume. The center roller volume wheel took a lot of input to get to a good listening volume and it seemed like about 70% volume as indicated on the display was when the system came alive. In recent updates, it appears that that trend has disappeared and the volume is more conventional with the gains. Is that something you have been working on?
Response from Bob: "Yes, the biggest change was shortening the range down from 100 clicks to 50 clicks, so you can get from quiet to loud and back with less effort. This does mean less granularity, but 100 clicks is probably too much range, or at least that was our thought."

Hello: I have notice recently, perhaps since the last system update, that the audio has a very high pitch volume that makes it difficult to listen to, like the high-end EQ is significantly higher but it it not when I check the setting. Even the turn signal sounds different, higher pitched. Is this intentional? It is not comfortable. Should I bring this into service? Thank you, BTW, this car is absolutely incredible, I have had nice cars, but this is amazing! - Air GT with the upgraded audio (pro)
Yes, we would advise having service look at it to assess.

Thanks.
I sat in the Gravity that was at the Miami Studio a couple weeks ago, and the Bass were not great from the front row, even with the EQ Bass set at the max.
Any chance this would be improved in the short term (adding a sub in the front, for example)?
Response from Bob: "The tuning has yet to be finalized on Gravity, so no judgements should be made on the quality of the audio system. Whatever tuning was in the showroom car was only a precursor of what’s to come."

I have the SSP in my Air Touring. Can you tell me where all 21 speakers are located? I haven't been able to identify them all.
The speakers are located in the following locations in cars equipped with Surreal Sound Pro:
- 4 speakers in the front dash
- 4 speakers in the A-pillars (2 at the base and 2 at the top)
- 2 woofers in the front footwells
- 4 speakers in the rear doors
- 2 speakers in the pillars above the rear seat occupants
- 4 speakers in the rear parcel shelf
- 1 subwoofer in the rear parcel shelf

Is there consideration of including hall acoustic models? Making the interior behave like the acoustics a "a jazz club", etc.?

What's happening regarding streaming audio stability/recovering from network dropout spots? (Example: Spotify and Sirius (that I use continuously) will stop/sometime indicate a network problem, and never recover. Spotify just goes blank. Sirius sometimes says 'pick another channel'. Neither returns until a park/off cycle or a reboot.)
Response from Bob:
"We haven't considered any Hall, Jazz Club, Arena, Rock, etc presets. Interesting thought. I'll bring this up in our next audio team meeting.

The streaming audio part is a software question which is far outside of my lane. I'll pass it along to our SW QA team. Rest assured, everyone at Lucid is dedicated to making the customer experience best in class."

What do you think is the biggest challenge is to get the audio reproduction to the next level?
  • The placement of the drivers
  • The quality of the drivers
  • Signal processing
  • The "infinite baffle" of the single rear subwoofer
  • A single tune that works for many different listeners
Response from Bob: "We have a lot of really cool new audio tech coming to Gravity that's taking it to the next level as far as what's been previously possible. We've been growing our team and working around the clock to make it a best-in-class system. A lot of what we're learning and implementing will be ported back to Air. These things just take time. We are a small and scrappy team, doing our best with the resources we have. We appreciate your patience!"

My preference is the resonance of the bass frequency that can trigger vibrations from objects like my loose clothes or even my body feeling the bass resonance. To me, great music is not just about the "loudness" but the resonance of the bass that I can "feel." In the meantime, what's the possibility of Lucid providing a better equalizer +/- 12dB user adjustable bands with an additional one for a subwoofer boost? Thanks!
Response from Bob: "The most recent update in 2.6 added the ability to decrease the bass by 10dB, though it remains that you can only add 6dB. This is intentional, as a) we received feedback that customers wanted the option to take the bass all the way out post-retune, and b) at +6dB the woofers are at their limit with bass-heavy content (we have limiters in place to protect the speakers, but they're working pretty hard at the +6dB setting). For more low frequency energy you'd need to add aftermarket subwoofers."

I am curious to any tuning needed on the audio system on both Gravity and Air with respect to the steel roof vs glass roof. Acoustically when I was in a GT loaner with Glass roof you could tell there was more reflection of noise, whereas a Alcantara roof liner does absorb better.
Response from Bob: "This is something we've been talking about doing since I joined back in August. It was actually one of my first questions when it came to tackling the re-tune, because you're absolutely right, a glass roof and a fabric-lined roof are going to have different reflective qualities. It's on the list of "want to do" but it's a just a matter of resources. We are not a large team (though we are growing) and there's plenty to do even without all these side projects. But we'll get there - just a matter of time!"

Nice to have this opportunity. For me, my AGT audio system is a train-wreck and it appears other have some of the same issues. In call cases, I have rebooted Lucid but problems return.

Here are four:

1. No sound coming out of any of the inputs including Apple Carplay, native inputs like FM radio, etc. Bleeps from touching icons on the touch screens can be heard but no audio. Parking the car and coming back later usually fixes the problem but it does come back.

2. Similar to #1 with no sound but the weird performance is that whenever I touch an icon on any screen, the sound comes back for one second and then quits. Each time I touch anything, like the seat heater, it get one second of sound.

3. Song album covers that are playing and displayed on the main audio screen do not match what is shown on the screen in front of the steering wheel. Often the first song of the day stays stuck on the steering wheel screen all day.

4. Sometimes it is impossible to get Apple Carplay to connect to Lucid. Tried deleting the iPhone from Lucid bluetooth, and vice versa, but it would not connect. Over time, it was resolved but from time-to-time it still has trouble connecting to Carplay.

Thanks
Response from Bob: "These are all infotainment issues -even the no sound problem- and I'm on the audio team, so I really don't have a good answer for you (sorry). I know you're not alone in these, as I've personally experienced the no audio thing a couple times in "my" (company owned) Air. All I can tell you is I know these are all being tracked and actively worked on by our SW team."

Response from Marqie: @AZCW Would you mind keeping a log of the issues you are experiencing, including date/time as as much contextual info you are able to provide (media source, connectivity, etc.). If you could share this with me along with your VIN via direct message, I will pass this along to our validation team for investigation. Thank you!

Would there be a possibility to have an option to equilibrate the speakers so that the driver is in the center of the atmosphere staging as opposed to left front? Thank you
Response from Bob: "This is something we're actively working on. I can't go into a lot of detail, but just know we're developing some new innovative ways of accomplishing exactly this."

Is there any way to save or add to a “favorites “ list on Tidal?

Also is there anyway to know ahead of time what genre the 7 Tidal mixes are w out having to play each one? Sometimes you are in the mood for a certain genre but randomly selecting the mixes is hit or miss- mostly miss
Response from Bob: "Tidal doesn't fall within the audio team's responsibilities (it's an Infotainment thing). We use it for tuning, and experience the same issues many of you bring up, but we have no say in how it's implemented into the car."

Thank you for taking the time to take questions!

My main issue with my non surreal sound is the fronts having no real mids or lows. When the bass levels are turned up for the fronts, the rear passengers complain the bass notes being too heavy in the back with the shelf rattling. (I understand there are footwell subs, and even with my SSP trial and tape fix, there wasn't a noticeable difference).
Also playback volume differs quite a bit between Bluetooth and native apps.

Thanks again
Response from Bob: "If you didn't experience a difference with SSP + the tape fix, I promise you didn't actually have SSP enabled. It's a night and day difference between the two systems. Just the addition of the front woofers alone is a massive delta from the base audio system. I don't know if you can get another trial, but if so I'd recommend doing so, as you'll get what you're looking for with the added mids and lows."
