UX trophy? Seriously??

Well it does LOOK good imo 😂
Yeah, when I was a teenager, I had a Raquel Welch poster, yes I am that old. It looked good too, just didn't do much! ;)

Definition: "User experience (UX) design is the process design teams use to create products that provide meaningful and relevant experiences to users." I think the Lucid is spot on regarding this.
Maybe in your car, not mine.

If you read the article, the judges were mainly focused on the interior styling and materials. The UX is GREAT, if you are judging it like this. It just falls flat in everyday use, but I still think it looks phenomenal, even if functionally it's lacking.

UX is the function, not the look. But it’s the DESIGN of the function, not the execution. They wouldn’t ding it for bugs, etc. in other words. They would be concerned with how good it were to use if there were no bugs. If that makes sense.

Still pissed about the center console cubby. Someone shit the bed on that part.
Those 4 silver push buttons on the dash for fan are cheap as hell and are more suited for a Kia than the Lucid. One of mine is already loose.

I, too, find these buttons inexplicably cheesy. In one of his pre-production demo drives, Peter Rawlinson specifically mentioned that the spring rates and detents on those toggle switches needed to be more precise. So I was surprised when I received my car many months later to find them still so imprecise in feel.

This was one of the issues I brought up a few months ago when Zak Edson, Lucid's VP of Sales & Service, called to discuss my experience with the car. I don't remember exactly how he phrased it, but it seemed he was suggesting that Lucid might do an after-sale replacement of those controls at some point. This led to me think that there had been a problem with the supplier that was not resolved by the time the car went into production.

Are you able to use Alexa to set the temp and use to increase or decrease volume ?

Maybe, but I try to avoid contact with Alexa as much as possible. I just can't take much more of the perverse delight she takes in foiling my attempts.

Yes on the temp. I've done that. You can also have Alexa adjust the fan speed. Only done it once or twice since the buttons are right there, but you can do it.

From what I remember the buttons on the steering wheel weren’t much better in the preproduction car I tried. Somehow felt worse than a cheap Kia (before they began their upmarket movements).

Yes Alexa can control both temperature and audio volume in multiple different ways. But I agree with the cheapness of those physical buttons. Mine don’t seem to have a very harsh finish to them and are already starting to look like they will have unsightly discoloration over (a short) time.

While the steering wheel buttons are a bit stiff on the production cars, they have a feeling of precision that is lacking in the dashboard toggle switches.
