Hello all,

Our Jag was recalled with a buyback, and we are looking at a Lucid. I see all sorts of incentives and whatnot, so I was looking for some advice. I know the whole EV credit expiring nonsense, but is there an impertative between now and September? I'm looking to lease, not buy, and I found one with dream drive pro in my area that looks good. am I losing something but waiting?

also, we have a Lyriq (recommend), how dos DDP compare to Super Cruise? Specifically, do you have to have a hand on the wheel all the time? (SC does not require that.)

Thanks!

Hi!

Welcome on the forums. EV credit expiring is definitely a large reason to buy now, also some competitive leasing prices on the main Lucid website is another reason.

As to Super Cruise, Dream Drive requires a hand on the steering wheel but it’s a very light touch and honestly I don’t notice it. It’s not capacitive but giving a little resistance and it doesn’t ever warn me to hold the wheel.

I hope you’ll join us in the Lucid journey!

As far as the credit expiring, how often do you DC fast charge now? (Since you have a Lyric) And how much traveling do you do? The credit is great for trips greater than 300 miles round trip but I find that I don't use it otherwise...

1. Lucid's prices are too high to be eligible for tax credits that expire in 9/2025.

2. As mentioned above. Dream Drive Pro still requires torque very often so I just leave my hands on the steering wheel instead of waiting for the nagging chime.

The Gravity is being offered as hands-free.

GM Super Cruise is a matured product since 2017. Lucid is still very young.

Over all, I still enjoy Lucid for its range, interior spaciousness, responsiveness, handling, quietness, smooth suspension...

Not positive but I do believe if you do a lease you can get the $7500 credit as a reduction in Cap cost.

Thanks for the clarification. Sorry that I forgot about the big difference in eligibility when leasing:

1. No restrictions on MSRP ($55,000/$80,000 for buying)
2. No income caps..

So, sure, if you care about the $7,500 lease EV credit, this is a good time to do it before it expires in September.

I have used super cruise by GM and it is far better than the Lucid DD pro. with Super Cruise you can drive hours without touching the wheel and it also auto passes slow cars in front of you. Lucid DD Pro requires a nudge on the steering wheel every couple of minutes and does not change lanes well nor auto passes another car. just FYI.

However, Lucid’s strength is how it drives. I love it.

Just get the Lucid….best car I ever bought, you will love it if you appreciate a good handling car. Lyric drives like a boat, but if you prefer that soft rolling feeling, go for the Lyriq
