I learned to drive on this: Notice there is no gas gauge: nothing but a speedo and an odo. Light knob, wiper knob, turn signal stalk. In an hour you know every location and function without looking.

I just did a load of wash and dammit I hate waiting to see if the "no-feedback" "press it, press it again, press it and hold it, longer, tap it... kick it..." state-of-the-art computer-fast switches...the kind that hate me... Nothing beats mechanical switches.

The other day I went for a 400 mi. out-and-return using nothing but the car...no audio...no drive aids ... I just drove it.

What a nice car. Thanks Lucid.

On a related topic, the Model A I drove in high school (my dad's hobby) is now 95 years old.

You need a new washer with AI.
I've just got one.
No more cycle selection.
Just fill up the detergent reservoir once and the washer will take over from there.
It'll let you know when to refill.
Kind of FSD :)

My definition of a luxury automobile is that it has buttons and switches for those features that I might want to adjust while driving. And I want them in the usual places (turn signal stalk on the left side of the steering wheel; seat buttons on side of seat; button to turn autohold on or off; etc.). IMHO putting these kinds of controls on an info screen only is not minimalist, it is "cheapist" to coin a word. IMO that is acceptable for a mainstream model where cost reduction is important (e.g., Chevrolet, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, etc.) but should not be for a luxury auto.

A few months ago I was walking in the mall where Lucid has its design studio and walked by the Polestar showroom. The 3 was there and I thought it looked pretty good. So out of curiosity I walked in and looked inside: everything on the info screen. I walked out with the thought that there was no way in hell I would ever buy that thing.
