Lease return excess wear & tear

It's one thing for a company to make a public statement, and another thing to actually effect change. To test that, I've called and asked that my case be reviewed under the new guidelines.

To be clear, I did NOT get this email from Lucid. So thanks for sharing.

I'll report back if it has any material effect. Something new; once I'm authenticated the call, I'm immediately transferred to the collection agency contracted by BofA with all the collection agency jargon. Effectively meaning my support level has been degraded. No matter, they agreed to do a "2nd" review of my case. I was asked to call back Aug 29th.
Please don't forget to keep us updated on this. Thanks!

Possible good news. We'll have to wait to know for sure but the saga isnt over.

The person on the phone stated, a new final invoice was just mailed out yesterday. I asked if it was different from the one I have and he said yes, but would not say on the phone what has changed. Only that I should call back after I receive it.

I would call that progress. However for it to not be a "one off", I'd like to know if any other forum members have received updated Final Invoices. Plus who knows what's in the final invoice. The condition report that's still available on Autovinlive still shows the same amount as it did back in July.

Here is their response to my lease return complaint after months of delays:

Please schedule your car for a pre-inspection and hope for the best, but prepare for the worst when your lease ends. I'm stepping up my game for the next Lucid lease return in December. I received phone calls and texts from Lucid sales about placing a new Gravity order, but I told them that after the way they treated me, I can't wait to return the remaining two leased Airs.

Please read the last 10 pages of this thread. I hope the people whose lease are being reviewed will come back to post. @ButMahElectrons have you heard or seen anyone recently return his car and have the issues mentioned in this thread? That's how we are going to know if Lucid has done something or not.
They denied my dispute regarding the charges for tire tread and wheel gouges. My next step is to file a claim in small claims court, which will require them to send a representative to attend a hearing.

Thanks for the update! It seems like mixed signals, but let's wait for more returns experience to see what's really going on.

I honestly don't think they're taking this seriously. Put out a response with some platitudes, then sweep it under the rug when the media furor dies down.

In some states they have to appear via an attorney. If you serve them properly & require them to appear via an attorney, they will quite likely call you to offer some sort of compromise. Good luck.

Yes. I transitioned into a new lease immediately and was still charged $200 for a small wheel scratch.
Man my rims are in bad shape, I plan to refinish them before I return it. Thankfully I was able to extend my lease by 5 months so will get to it eventually. Honestly if $200 is all you paid, that's not bad imho

I agree. I feel like I got off pretty easily given the events in this thread.

Hi folks,

As I just returned my 2024 Air Pure lease I was asked to post here on my return experience for reference.

I just received the report, there was one item noted a 1" x 0.1" "gouge" on one rim. That was listed as "non-chargeable".

Other than that one item, no other damage noted. No charge, $0 in chargeable items listed.

Hope this helps, maybe Lucid is getting the memo. Any questions, let me know.

They charged me $200 for the exact same 0.1" gouge on the rim. I'm glad they've updated their policy now. However, Lucid and BoA are still accountable for all the previous charges that shouldn’t have been there for others.

Glad to hear this. It definitely looks like something has changed.

If yours was old; you might want to have it reviewed as some hear have done.

My lease return was processed today at the King of Prussia service center.... (it was dropped off Sat but they must have just got to it) ... I'll be finding out soon enough what the outcome is.

I wanna believe that something has changed but it's just one example. And the fact they asked for a courtesy post tells me they still see this as a PR issue that can be bandaged over.

It's still going to take years of consistently getting this right to get me to reconsider buying/leasing another Lucid. Although I wouldn't be surprised if we saw more new forum members with similar stories. I will say kudos to the poster for their full disclosure.

Thanks again to the forum staff for allowing us to use this platform to elevate our concerns.

Agree with all your points on transparency and accountability.

Just to be clear, it was a forum member who asked for the courtesy post, not Lucid.
