Although I find full lane departure too overbearing, just a warning is reasonable for me and also seems to keep it from "accidentally" coming back on by itself. Just out of curiosity, CL510, are you the only driver?
Hi scal-air. Yes, I am the only driver. I also noticed my air doesn't have the option to turn on only a warning. It's all or nothing for the lane departure assist. It will blink red on the dash screen (pilot panel) and steer my car away from the lane marker or divider. I can't make it only give me the dash screen warning.Although I find full lane departure too overbearing, just a warning is reasonable for me and also seems to keep it from "accidentally" coming back on by itself. Hi OCDC. Please excuse my delayed response. I haven't logged into this forum in awhile. My Air was manufactured in 3/2022.@CL510, what's the manufacturing date for your car? It should be printed on the sticker inside the drivers door frame.
What software version are you on?Hi scal-air. Yes, I am the only driver. I also noticed my air doesn't have the option to turn on only a warning. It's all or nothing for the lane departure assist. I'm running 2.1.42. Just updated this week. What software version are you on?
So under Dream drive settings there is no warning only option for lane Departure protection?I'm running 2.1.42. Just updated this week.
It comes on if you use Highway Assist.
This is the setting that hydbob is referring toSo under Dream drive settings there is no warning only option for lane Departure protection?
Use the work around of leaving the protection enabled but set to warning only. It's slightly annoying because the warning vibrates something in the steering wheel, but it's better than the car pulling to one side or the other.Seems to have arisen with recent software updates.
Thanks for sharing, @Driveabout. I just sent you a DM.I'll add my complaint regarding this glitch. Lane Departure warnings seem to come on after I've stopped somewhere for a while. I'll start driving and the alert pops up. Have to go into settings and turn it off. This is all city street driving, no highway. Seems to have arisen with recent software updates.
On a very positive note, I recently returned from a 1300 mile trip and really liked all of the recent changes to Highway Assist. It still has occasional challenges with mountain curves, but overall it made the trip more relaxing.
I leave it on warning only all the time. I don't like when it pulls the wheel from my hand, but I do like that it is active. This has been happening to me constantly for the last several months. Maybe about once a week and it's incredibly annoying and could be dangerous. It was happening previously at about the same rate, a while ago and then stopped after one of the updates. It started back up this time, also after an update. I have been in contact with Customer Care and one of the studios regarding this, and some the the advisors keep telling me that my vehicle is the only one experiencing this. I decided to join this forum to see if others have experienced it as well, so I am glad to have found this thread.
The studio has said they are not sure how to fix it after they've kept my car before, saying that they were not able to replicate the issue, so they asked me to send time stamps and pics of the pilot panel of each time it happens so the engineers could look at the system history to try to figure out what is happening. I have sent them maybe 5 timestamps of this happening and they are still not able to figure out what the issue is. There is still no indication of how or when they think they will be able to fix this.
It's an interesting idea to leave it on and turn it warning only, but I feel like you shouldn't have to do that after spending so much on the vehicle. Am I in the minority here?
I'm on software version 2.1.33.
Try making a change to something in your user profile (e.g. seat adjustment, then move back to what it was) and then saving your profile again.I had this happen to me today 2.2.2 version. I thought I was going crazy there for a second since I never turn on lane departure (I don't like that feature on any car) and sure enough the feature says it is disabled but the car is busily alerting me that I'm crossing lanes (did it on purpose to make sure I understood what I was seeing)
But the problem is the warnings are ridiculous. Going off constantly even when not crossing the line. I have had my GT Air for 6 months. The software tech is so far behind ALL cars. I wanted to get a Gravity, but i suspect it will be the same terrible software, so probably going to switch to some other brand when my 18 month lease is up. The effectiveness of the lane departure and the DREAM DRIVE is terrible. Just basically bounces you off one line to the other side and back. It is like the very first lane departure software developed about 15 years ago. My tesla software kept me right in the middle of the lane and never bounced back and forth.Although I find full lane departure too overbearing, just a warning is reasonable for me and also seems to keep it from "accidentally" coming back on by itself. Do you have Dream Drive Pro? Are you describing your observations with HA?But the problem is the warnings are ridiculous. Going off constantly even when not crossing the line. That's exactly what lane departure is supposed to do. What you are describing you want is lane keep assist, which is only available with DreamDrive Pro not lane departure protection. But the problem is the warnings are ridiculous.
