Gravity Service Appointments and Time In Service

They’re definitely overwhelmed at every service center.
That would appear to be more of the case, yeah. I assume (hope?) there’s a hiring plan.

Hopefully… They definitely need a hiring plan to mitigate all these service requests. Imagine how busy it’ll get if they need to handle any issues/service with the new mid-size.

It used to be a week for my Gravity to get serviced but now it’s already 2-3 weeks.

Was offered an X7 but I took the C8 🤣
I have the wrong Service Center - it's called "Enterprise". Now that I think about it, it goes along with Air, Gravity, Earth and Spock!

I dont necessarily see that as a problem. Presumably you don't have that conversation unless giving the vehicle back is a satisfactory outcome for you. And while its true that dealing with legal will be different than dealing with customer service, legal will have options for how they resolve a case. Many years ago I sued the IRS, and being move over to the IRS lawyers was a breath of fresh air from dealing with the other parts of the organization. We easily came to a satisfactory agreement and settled the case. The legal team may well have more power to force other parts of the company to be responsive to your complaint than customer service does.
fair point but there's a HUGE difference between a gov't lawyer (cushy job) and a corporate lawyer!!

There are definitely Gravities being lemoned right now per conversations with studio.
With the extremely slow pace of service visits that some (many?) are experiencing, it'd be surprising if that wasn't true. Hopefully for the sake of both Lucid and its customers, they can get the service team to a point that they can more quickly accomplish vehicle repairs.

Not a problem in general, but many people don’t realize that fact; so they go start a case “just in case” and remove all the other options from the table without knowing it.

Of course, if you are wronged, sue. I just usually see it as a last resort, but we live in such a litigious nation that some others see it as a first resort. I, personally, see that as a mistake.
I'd also agree that filing a lawsuit shouldn't be the first step. Even if that's the level of frustration you have, first tell the company that you're at that point. If an owner has lost patience with the customer service/service center teams to resolve their problem, having a blunt conversation with someone on the legal team might get things moving. I imagine that the legal team at Lucid is very aware that the overwhelmed service org makes it difficult to defend against lemon law cases, and are probably interested in seeing if they can resolve the complaint without wasting everyone's time in a courtroom.

Not in my experience. In both instances, the lawyer is responsible for defending their employer's interests. Doing so is at least theoretically required as part of being licensed to practice law. And in both instances, the lawyer in question will be well aware that going to court is often not in their employer's interest. But it is true that some companies have a scorched earth approach to legal disputes, and that's much less common in government lawyers in my experience. On the flip side, if a corporate lawyer really pulls out the stops to defend a losing case against the company, they may well be asked why they wasted so many resources, which a government lawyer is a bit less likely to be concerned about.

Yeah.. For those unaware, vehicles waiting in queue count towards the 30 cumulative days in service for lemon law.

My sister recently lemoned a Mazda with 200 miles on the odo for a CV axle which was at the dealer(on its first visit) for 40+ days waiting for the part.

yeah im at like 36 days if I count the 4 I couldn't drive it while waiting for the roof bow adhesive to cure at home. It's not even being worked on yet in its current service appointment. Which is fine, they know its a lemon I know its a lemon I'm not gonna throw a fit about it, we can just wrap it up and move on. I hope. I also don't want to bump people that really need their cars fixed that intend to keep them.

Well, I have to say my first experience with Lucid service isn't going well at all.

My Gravity has an error for a drive system warning and says to contact service (which it seems several other people have also had recently). Can't schedule in the app (which I figured as this has been ongoing for a while), called the San Diego service center and left a message on Saturday but got no callback. Called Tuesday morning and it went to voicemail again so I called the main customer care number and they opened a ticket for me and said the service center would call me back to schedule an appointment. Still hadn't heard back as of yesterday afternoon so I called and left another message. Just tried calling again and it's still going to voicemail. I guess they've just given up even answering the phone. Probably going to end up just driving over there as it's only about a 15 min drive for me, ridiculous to have to do that to schedule an appointment though (which is probably going to be 2 months out from what I hear it's like right now).

Yikes! Which SC?

wanted to get my frunkt finally adjusted properly so it opens correctly. I thought this would be a quick service and I can wait for the car but they told me, they would keep the car for 2-3 weeks, told them thats not acceptable and canceled the appointment. so now I just wait until it completely fails and then they can repair it, cant imagine this is good for the mechanism that it always tries to open 2-3 times but I also dont care anymore. This is for Beverly Hills service center, they said any service is at least 2 weeks. Like I dont get it? why take the car in and have it sit there for 2 weeks for something which might take couple of minutes to fix. I understand if they need new parts, but sorry then give me my car back until the parts arrived ..

Have you tried adjusting the stops? Doing that fixed mine: https://lucidowners.com/threads/easy-diy-fix-for-double-open-gravity-frunk.14919/

Plus, they don't spend money on a loaner or rental. I'm sure if the delay was a week (in the good old days) you would have taken a loaner, but with multiple weeks and a drivable car, I'd rather drive my own car until repair. I wonder whether it is "the way it has always been done" or if it is a directive from Sales and Service Management. They may want to review that policy...

Sad to say this, but welcome to the club. The Gravity's a great car... until sometime goes wrong. Then it becomes an aggravating part of your life.

Amusingly I just got a survey about my experience.

I have an Air. They will be replacing the driver's seat cushion, under warranty. They want the car for a couple of weeks. Saying they are busy. I've been pushing it off hoping they will be able to schedule the repair for the day I bring it in. Not a critical repair so I'll keep waiting and rescheduling.

I am sorry to hear about your experience. I just sent you a DM.
