Gravity Orders Discussion

Not exactly. That was a press release from a year ago. Lucid expected the agreement to be in place, just as many other companies did. But we saw how they all got delayed as well.

The release also says all other Lucids will have NACS in 2025. The 2025 Air will not. Things change.

Until you get another press release announcing the deal is actually launched, do not expect to be able to just take your Gravity to a Supercharger just because it has NACS.

No one mentioned getting NACS access on the first day of launch. It was whether Lucid and Tesla have an agreement in place, which they do. Do you genuinely believe Lucid would have installed the NACS port in the car when very few (if any) EV charging companies are still transitioning to swap out cables etc.? We’ve also seen images online of Gravity charging at Tesla Superchargers. They can’t simply arrive and plug in without collaborating with Tesla beforehand. The arrival date of NACS access is uncertain, whether it happens on the first day or after launch, time will tell. If it’s not ready at launch, a CCS adaptor will likely be provided.

It’s possible that Lucid may expedite the process and gain access sooner rather than later. It appears that many delays have been caused by the shortage of CCS to NACS adaptors.

Changed my order from black to aurora to titanium!! lol, I will update in the tracker, I do have a air that the lease ends in September and I doubt they would let me out early to get the gravity hence why I’ll just wait for the titanium silver I am hoping I would at least get it in my hands by June and have both cars for a few months

So, I was talking to my local studios in Plano, TX. Currently, they expect a test drive and display Gravity only in the “early months of 25.” They don’t have a specific date but expect it in Q1. Are you hearing anything from your local studios? I would love to test drive my vehicle with my wife before it enters the production line. I am also curious if that timeline applies to press/review vehicles as well. I guess time will tell!

Who knows they keep tugging at our hearts

This is the thing keeping me from placing my order. I wouldn't want mine to get into prod before I test drive. I have the almost everything spec, and I believe they will produce first but I'm not in a hurry.
I may opt for the basic trim and upgrade after the test drive. *decisions *decisions

Day one. Day 100. All I'm saying is I'll be shocked if any Gravity customer can just pull up to a Supercharger and plug in before 2026.

I'd love to be wrong about this.

They don't have an agreement in place. Lucid has a promise from Tesla to "eventually" give them access. And we all know how good Tesla is at keeping its promises. :)

Never trust Elon Musk

Question to those who didn't add Tow package - e.g. @tonybot @DrLucid @Neurio @dragonwang - why?
Is it just something you know you'll never use (so why waste $750), or there's some disadvantage I'm unaware of? E.g. visible hook, sensor delete, etc?
I know that I won't be towing anything so didn't want to spend that extra $750...

It’s just that I won’t use it. Had it in my bmw but never used it.

I just know I'll never use it. And mine will most likely be a lease that I don't buy out at the end so no need to have it for any other reason.

I do not understand...if you place the order now, you can always cancel when you get the production notice if you have not yet driven (and like) the car, right? Your order is not locked and your deposit is fully refundable until you get a production notice, so why not get in the queue and then cancel if you do not get to test drive before yours is ready for production? Am I missing something?

Same. Never used it in the last two years and most likely a lease.

The release mentions it in 2 places. In the bullet items near the top, it just says "into its vehicles in 2024", but in the text below it clarifies "future vehicles in 2025" which covers the Air not necessarily getting it right away, but the Gravity shipping with it since it will essentially be 2025 when it is released and is likely listed as a 2025 model.

Any Lucid can charge at a Tesla supercharger that has a magic dock. They're pretty rare, but they exist. Any CCS car can do that, whether or not their manufacturer has an agreement - you just need to open an account with the Tesla app.

I've never towed anything in my life and have no plans to start doing so, so no need to spend the money on it.

Since we never tow anything I didn't order the towing package. What is in it, anyway?

I never towed anything on my minivan but I used bike rack a lot.
