Gravity Delivery Discussion

What do you mean by "panel on the seat"?
Just that little part on the left side of the 3rd row seat. Wouldn’t go flush like the other seat.

Weird, yeah that’s something that service should be able to fix, not sure what gets checked in PDI. As far as the GPS it’s close to where you’re at but a street or two off? I’ve had Apple Maps and Waze do that in the Air a couple times. Maybe overnight sleep will reset it but yeah otherwise that should be a service ticket also, CS might even be able to try a remote reboot or remote software update re-push.

If I’m not mistaken, isn’t there a difference in the 2nd row floor mats between 5 and 7 seat variants? It appears so in the online configurator: the 7-seater 2nd row mats have a series of “notches” to accommodate the 2nd row sliding forward on rails (presumably for third row passenger access) while the 5-seat variant is a solid uninterrupted mat.
There are photos of the mats for the front passenger seat, front driver seat, 2nd row and two photos of the mats being the second row (I didn’t want to fold down the seats to get a better photo). I have no 3rd row of seats.

I was disappointed I wasn’t allowed to drive the car before accepting delivery.
That was rather weird to hear during delivery. I had test driven a Gravity back in May, but couldn't drive the one I was about to purchase. I get it, but definitely different from the traditional dealership experience.

I am 5 hours from the closest test drive. It is weird buying a car based on You Tube videos and this forum. I sure hope you guys aren't all AI bots.

But the one bug I have is the GPS. It’s as if the car generally knows where it is, but not precisely enough to navigate. So it’s constant rerouting. I did a few resets to no avail. I’m even impressed the walk up and away locks work with the key fob. Anyone have this GPS problem before?

Since our delivery in Florida on June 30, our satellite map and navigation system has shown the car in only three places which it switches randomly between: Newark, CA (I think near Lucid HQ), the desert around Casa Grande, AZ (the factory location), and in the Atlantic Ocean off the west coast of Africa. The only time I have seen the car on a map in Florida was on the mobile app, and that was showing where the car was the day before at an EA charging station, not where it was at the time I came across the map.

Also, nothing that works off the GPS system has functioned since delivery: no ADAS features that need to know the car is on an authorized route, no Homelink geofencing, no time zone adjustment of the clock to actual location, etc.

The car is in the shop right now to have this and other problems addressed. No what and when yet on the fix.

I finally took delivery today of my Black GGT with the missed wheels, DDP, comfort, surreal pro and tow. Great car so far. Only has a few issues at delivery (paint swirls and panel on the seat). I was disappointed I wasn’t allowed to drive the car before accepting delivery. That’s a bit nerve racking. But the one bug I have is the GPS. dang why are you driving right through those people's living rooms?

I was able to drive mine before signing final papers…

I wonder if mine being home delivered made a difference. I was told they couldn't risk damage if I drove before day of official delivery.

I requested three days before delivery;during PDI.

Yeah, I just did it at delivery before I signed forms. And I was at KOP service center.

The Gravity “sits” low no matter what height setting, except maybe the highest. Use the MV word - whatever. It’s really most like the old Mercedes R class as I think someone mentioned. I notice because I am noticeably lower than SUVs even on standard.

That said, it does a GREAT job of making you feel like you’re riding higher than you are. Hate to compare like this, but kind of like the Subaru Outback.

Gravity is a short (height) car that has a magically massive interior. It looks smaller than our X side by side, but is much bigger inside.

Don’t know how they did it, but I love it. Had to put something in the trunk this morning and it was 1,000% easier than my Rivian, but Gravity has more legroom for all, etc. Of course, I am not off-roading in the Gravity - but I rarely did in the Rivian.

Also, at 5’8”, it’s a bit weird that I can hit my head on the trunk when it’s open, but whatever…love it.
Funny you should mention the Outback...that's what I'm hoping to replace with a Gravity...hoping for similar performance in snow to go ski

Has anyone received the Lucid Gravity speed form model yet? I received the email from Mr Winterhoff on Aug 13 saying that they would send it to me in the mail. Not that I really want it, just curious.
I received mine today. I also got one when they first opened up test drives.

The reality of 2026 models does not match the configurator -- 5-seaters seem mechanically identical to 7-seaters with the 3rd row simply not installed. The 2nd row moves (unnecessarily). This obviously makes things simpler for GA and accessories, but is surely more expensive and I would personally expect it to change by the time the Touring trim is delivered.

I have a related question for those who have taken delivery of the 7-seater. If this is really true and the mat has these notch/slits in it, in my experience smaller carpet sections like this can get slippery and/or not want to stay in place, especially when you put any kind of lateral load on them - like throwing a bag in or stepping into or out of the car. Unless they’re somehow held in place (Velcro, hooks, etc). Has anyone experienced any trouble with this?
There are notches; I posted pictures here:

All rows have posts to secure. The first row also has vecro dots on the carpet mats (not the rubber mats) -- the second and third do not.

I put in a reservation for a Grand Touring on December 16, 2024. I upgraded that order (due to the Lucid notification that some of my options would not be available) on April 25, 2025. My present order is for Quantum Grey (stealth) with 20"/21" wheels, Mojave Purluxe Premium interior, Dream Drive 2 premium and the Comfort and Convenience upgrade. My SA told me that the car should go into production in October and be ready for delivery in the November time frame. Don't know that I actually think the SA has any good information, but fingers are crossed.
I had the exact same configuration except I had the rear steering and power package minus HUD. A month ago, I talked to my SA on the phone and changed it from Grey to Black (I have a grey Model X). She called me last week and told me I have a pre-VIN. My dashboard changed to show her as my SA but the car is still in the "ordered" position. She told me that she expected it to enter production in the next month or so with delivery by or in November, which works well for us. She said, changing to black moved me up because that is what they're ramping up with. I ordered the beginning of February 25.
