Gravity Delivery Discussion

Where do you see the sill plate # in the app? I don't see it in mine.
When you add your phone it said it was Lucid Gravity 118 and it shows as this in my bluetooth settings for the IPhone. Maybe this is just a coincidence - check your bluetooth menu on your phone and see what it says?

Last 3 of the VIN is what shows in Bluetooth. No correlation to DE #.

Lucid Gravity DE #113 Delivered today!

Beautiful Car - drives like a dream....
First impressions:
- the driving performance is amazing
- the sound system is very good even over Bluetooth
- Adaptive cruise control works very well - we drove 120 miles home and had no issues with it (the delivery agent didn't think it worked).
- the HUD is somewhat crude in its implementation but it is effective. We did NOT have any of the glare issues others have mentioned.
- Fit and finish were excellent - we traded in a Tesla for this (yes a cybertruck) and it is far better build quality than the truck.
- Its super quiet - hard to tell when you are going more than 85 - which is likely a problem - lol!
- The EZpass worked fine (thank you for telling us where the transponder should go! - the delivery agent learned something from me ).
- Tesla supercharging worked first time - in seconds. My wife asked why I didn't plug it in because I was so quick - I said its already done and charging - totally seemless!
- It looks amazing!! (Maybe I can say that again! AMAZING)

AND most importantly its fun to drive!

Oddly enough we have DE#113 - but the car thinks it is DE#118 in our mobile phones - maybe they switched sill plates at birth!
Back to Miami tomorrow - to the airport again - we have had no key issues so far - fingers crossed - so far it seems perfect. It was delivered with software 3.2.0
Where should the transponder go? I missed that somewhere in the thread.

It needs to go on the right side of the rearview mirror (passenger side). There is a rectangular cutout of the window coating that you barely see - it looks lighter than the rest of the window. This was in another thread here - with a nice picture - I just don't recall which thread - did DrZorro right this or was it someone else? If you place it there it works fine - just squint your eyes and you will see it! And yes I also have Vin that ends in 118 - hence my apple bluetooth shows as that. (My hope is our Vin 118's are different cars - lol....)
Finally had my first key fob issue - says low battery - isn't this a new FOB??? My car was delivered with the Frunk seat cushion, the car charger and the two NACS adapters. (And only one key fob so far...)

@borski would 113 scratch the 13 itch? Or only DE #13 ;)

@Neilnaples so great to hear these high praises for Gravity. Having been in/driven a few I agree with your driving representations. It’s a really amazing vehicle. Cheers to your new baby!

@jaybrichgels
So, it turns out there IS a tint cutout for toll road transponders on the Gravity windshield. It's sublle in the pics. I drew arrows around the border.

Now, if only I could fit the Tolltag AND radar detector there.

As for radar detection, I'm convinced that the tint blocks radar too as almost every time it goes off, the arrow on my detector is pointing backwards. View attachment 30715View attachment 30714

Had a test drive today at Scottsdale. Great drive. Took a nice twisty residential street at only a little over--30-35 in 25 mph zone.

Missed a turn and SA suggested doing a U-turn. We were all impressed by the turning radius.

Did hard acceleration (but no where near max) in different ride heights and modes. Could definitely feel the handling differences, but all were well controlled.

AC easily kept up with the 110° heat and I purposely had the fan on a medium speed. There was some warm air above my head (I'm 6'1" and had several inches head room). The glass canopy was definitely warm to the touch. But both of us (my wife was in the middle of the 2nd row since the SA was riding shotgun) were fine, and we are both heat sensitive.

I did some quick lane changes, both on surface streets and at freeway speeds. Incredibly well planted.

SA asked to see if they had an 85mph governor limit--apparently their Air test drive cars are limited to 85. I did not go to triple digits, but close...and there was no lack of power getting up there.

DDPro worked well for the little bit I tried it.

The HUD was active. As others have said, it's minimal info right now. The projection distance puts it "inside,"--or maybe even in front of--the car ahead of you at normal standing distance at a stop light. It also projects the blind spot warning overlaid on the lane next to you--very good for situational awareness.

There is some lag between the speed updating in the HUD, especially in rapid acceleration or deceleration. Sprint from 60-70, HUD stays displaying low 60's while IP display shows constant change. HUD catches up after the rapid change. I'm sure it's just the state of the software that we know is not final.

Saw the blueish wispy artifact from the HUD. Definitely a sun interaction of some sort. It was not affected when I tried polarized sunglasses--though the HUD itself disappeared with the sunglasses.

Also saw a significant glare at certain angles. This was a reflection of sun hitting the glass of the HUD. It was brighter than the blue one, but also a smaller rectangle. This one did go away with polarized sunglasses.

This was about 3:45pm on a very bright day here in Phoenix. These reflections occurred when the sun was behind us. When we were facing the sun there were no reflections other than a very dim reflection of the dash materials.

My SA also said our AG 21/22" DE has a pre-VIN. But said the tech package continues to be a blocker in getting these built. Speculated a month or two before more are built.

Your entire post was a great recap of your driving experience and captured some details that I missed in our very brief times behind the wheel so far.

I'm wondering if what your SA said about the tech package delay is why we've seen no movement on our Black/Yosemite DE order, even though it was placed five weeks before the order for the DE we actually got on June 30. Maybe by the time black DE's were slated for production they had already exhausted the limited supply of HUD hardware they had on hand?

I picked up my Gravity DE yesterday. Overall fantastic car; had a few loose trim issues, one piece they will need to replace, but still great and will be just amazing when they fix the SW bugs.

It came with only one key fob and they said I have to pay for another one; is that the same experience others had?

The thing I was super surprised by is it doesn't come with Homelink; the homelink menu has a qr code which points to just the main Lucid site, and says I have to order a module. Is that the case for others? Kind of surprising for a $140k car.

We received only one key fob with our Gravity DE, as have other owners thus far. However, we were told the second one would be mailed to us later with no mention of having to pay for it.

As our Gravity is still at the PPF shop we haven't yet tried to program Homelink. Some owners report that they've been able to program Homelink, and some have not. I called Customer Care about some other issues with our Gravity and, while I had them on the phone, asked about reports that some cars were being delivered without necessary Homelink hardware. I was told that some early owners were calling in to report issues with programming Homelink and that Lucid had already set up a task team to work with Homelink to figure out what was going on. But no mention was made about the possibility that those owners were missing any hardware.

When we took delivery of our Gravity we were given a lot of misinformation by our delivery advisor, including things such as ADAS not yet being active, the car only having one wireless phone charging pad, no music streaming yet available, etc. And other owners have reported their own arrays of rumor and misinformation passed along by delivery advisors.

Apparently these cars have been showing up at delivery centers with Lucid personnel on site themselves not being given much training or orientation on the cars before being expected to orient new owners to the cars' operation and features.

The second fob will be later, but free.

Homelink will work; it will be an option for GTs in general, but for DEs it is included standard, afaik. They’ll install it (or turn it on) at a future service visit.

It's also probably why they have unmatched GGT VINs...they are producing what they have parts for.

FWIW, my Gravity came equipped with Homelink already. Good thing is it spans across profiles!

ugh well that makes me feel bad as I guess there's something "wrong" with my DE. Hope they can fix it quickly; maybe they ran out of modules when building these things?
