Gravity Delivery Discussion

Question to those who already have their Gravity:

Does it already come with the retractable rear cover? Every car I've ever owned comes with it from the factory but I see it listed as an accessory in the store.

We did not get one with our Dream Edition (but we did get the frunk seat).

Isn’t gating when it’s done with production? If you’re factory gate at 7/25, there should be a VIN assigned already. It sounds like it hasn’t started production.

In my case, as soon as car switched to “in production”, I could see the VIN…
On July 26th, I will see if my portal has the VIN assigned.

Does anyone here know of any delivery of a Black/Yosemite Gravity with the 22/23" wheels?

No it doesn’t

Finally got our car back. It’s, uh, not exactly green anymore.

I’ll post good videos when I can take some that do it justice. It’s hard to get the sparkle on film.

Is this the amount of sparkle you went for? 😂

Assuming they did a custom wrap without templates, as my shop tells me they are still waiting. If it is going to be any longer, I'm going to tell them to just do a custom wrap.

It does not come with that accessory. In fact, I'm still waiting for ALL the stuff that was supposed to come with the DE including the frunk seat cushion.

Most people are and by ALL the stuff I think the only thing coming is the frunk seat unless you've heard otherwise.

Well, I believe there's a DE "gift set" which has a few extra goodies (I think we all saw pictures of it a while back) that includes some things that are not in the store). My SA told me last week I should be getting it "soon". Anyone want to take bets on which comes first: the gift set or Android Auto? 🤣

I got a call today from my SA at the Scottsdale, AZ, Gallery to set up a Gravity test drive. They are doing one hour blocks and unlike the Air test drives, the SA rides with you.

I've got one scheduled for tomorrow, and my wife is scheduled for Sunday.

Yes, I got that call too. They are currently only allowing the test drives for people that have orders in place.

Correct; and where they couldn't do it properly (like around the letters), they are going to rewrap it as soon as there are templates, free of charge.

I spoke with my place today. They are going to do custom for no additional charge except for the trim pieces. Once the template is available, they will take it back and complete it.

Same thing with my PPF shop. They were hoping for Xpel templates due to the high number of sensor cutouts and some other characteristics of the Gravity. They ended up doing a custom wrap on all the green panels, the mirrors, and all the trim pieces on the front of the car. As they've had the car over two weeks and we still want to get radar and laser detectors installed before an upcoming trip, I agreed to bring it back in later to get the roof panels wrapped once the templates become available. Their concern with custom wrapping the roof cantrails is that there is a thin rubber gasket running the length of its upper edge, and it will be very difficult to do a precise trim cut along that gasket without risking damage to it.

They're also installing Xpel's new(ish) windshield protection film. Unfortunately, Xpel will not be releasing it in a wide enough width to cover the front glass canopy in a single piece until late this year, so they're just going to do the windshield up as high as the current width allows (which will get it above the sun visors). We'll be removing that and replacing it with the wider piece once it becomes available. (Due to our living near some sand quarries and being constantly on the road among convoys of dump trucks, our Air windshield looks as if it's been sandblasted, so I want what protection I can get as soon as I can get it on the Gravity.)

Lucid Gravity DE #113 Delivered today!

Beautiful Car - drives like a dream....
First impressions:
- the driving performance is amazing
- the sound system is very good even over Bluetooth
- Adaptive cruise control works very well - we drove 120 miles home and had no issues with it (the delivery agent didn't think it worked).
- the HUD is somewhat crude in its implementation but it is effective. We did NOT have any of the glare issues others have mentioned.
- Fit and finish were excellent - we traded in a Tesla for this (yes a cybertruck) and it is far better build quality than the truck.
- Its super quiet - hard to tell when you are going more than 85 - which is likely a problem - lol!
- The EZpass worked fine (thank you for telling us where the transponder should go! - the delivery agent learned something from me ).
- Tesla supercharging worked first time - in seconds. My wife asked why I didn't plug it in because I was so quick - I said its already done and charging - totally seemless!
- It looks amazing!! (Maybe I can say that again! AMAZING)

AND most importantly its fun to drive!

Oddly enough we have DE#113 - but the car thinks it is DE#118 in our mobile phones - maybe they switched sill plates at birth!
Back to Miami tomorrow - to the airport again - we have had no key issues so far - fingers crossed - so far it seems perfect. It was delivered with software 3.2.0

Congratulations! Glad you are loving yours too. Software 3.2.0 was required for delivery, which was quite the excitement on 6/30 let me tell you...

Where do you see the sill plate # in the app? I don't see it in mine.
