Nothing here and I KNOW I had the very first DE order LOL.
(Also, we are still only in “ordered” state)
You mean to make 1K on cancellations? And this, right here, is why people are still getting offered DEs.![]()
i'm pretty skeptical of some of the explanations for the delays, but it would be a MASSIVE stretch to me to think that someone is manually allocating orders by cross referencing forum posts.
Well, they don't need to actually read anything we post, just go off the top 10 poster listi'm pretty skeptical of some of the explanations for the delays, but it would be a MASSIVE stretch to me to think that someone is manually allocating orders by cross referencing forum posts.
you got me. sorry.I agree. My tongue was planted in my cheek when I wrote that.
I was just told I could buy time by switching to a GT from the DE which would be delivered closer to fall or I lose my deposit now.I agree. My tongue was planted in my cheek when I wrote that.
GTs were a refundable deposit, DEs were non-refundable. It was like that from the beginning to my knowledge, but I'm definitely aware some people jumped in before fully reading that in the DE fine print.I was just told I could buy time by switching to a GT from the DE which would be delivered closer to fall or I lose my deposit now.
I am still trying to find my email where I believe they did say I would get my deposit back until the time they put the car in production.
Anywho I feel they will not win any popularity contest by keeping the deposit because apparently there is enough demand for the DE from non-owners.
OR they are trying to keep all us "returning customers" happy by holding off and NOT sending us the first few builds and let the new folks to the brand be guinea pigs this go around!! Given that all the new deliveries that we have heard of thus far seem to be going to new owners, this might be the caseI've decided to take the cynical view of this.
Since Lucid knows we're diehard fans, they probably know we pose no risk of canceling our orders over a longer wait. So maybe better to get Gravities first into the hands of those possibly less resolute in their devotion?
@Kzooguy - Does ordering an maxed-out Air GT in 12/22, and receiving it in 4/23 (Stealth delay…) make me a ‘new customer’?OR they are trying to keep all us "returning customers" happy by holding off and NOT sending us the first few builds and let the new folks to the brand be guinea pigs this go around!! • | Modify your order: You can remove the Technology Package and instead select the new Power Package, which includes three 1,800-watt 120V outlets that were originally part of the Technology Package. |
This option will allow you to take delivery sooner. |
This results in a net cost reduction of $2,600 USD (-$3,200 Technology Package, +$600 Power Package). |
While this option does not allow us to build your vehicle with Dynamic Ambient Lighting, all Gravity Grand Touring models are equipped with standard color-selectable ambient lighting. |
Because the dynamic lighting wiring is tied into the HUD wiring.I Just an email from lucid yesterday: For me, I would rather change my order without the HUD to get it sooner. It’s not in my time frame worth to wait to the fall to get the full technology package. The one thing I am curious about….why can’t sanctuary mode work without HUD hardware or does Dynamic Lighting have additional hardware?
We’d like to clarify a recent update regarding the Technology Package on the Grand Touring trim. Our previous communication stated that the Technology Package—including the head-up display (HUD) and Dynamic Ambient Lighting—would not be available on Gravity GT. However, these features are only temporarily delayed due to supply constraints, with availability now expected this fall. We are actively working to accelerate timing where possible.

• Keep your current Grand Touring reservation and accept a later delivery:
You’ll take delivery once further supply of the components necessary to build your vehicle with a HUD is available—currently expected this fall.
This constraint will impact delivery timing of your vehicle. To best support your needs, we’ve outlined some options below:

Sanctuary Mode works without dynamic ambient lighting, and I have that direct from Lucid. They will clear up what base ambient lighting includes vs dynamic ambient lighting at some point, but the removal of dynamic ambient lighting does not remove sanctuary mode. The one thing I am curious about….why can’t sanctuary mode work without HUD hardware or does Dynamic Lighting have additional hardware?
