Gravity Delivery Discussion

Speedform or 7500 credit. Tough choice

Is "speed form" the little cast metal model of the Gravity?

If so, it's kind of like the cruel joke my parents played on me the morning of my 16th birthday. I had been hoping against hope that they would give me a used clunker all my own. They told me that if I went out to the carport I would find my birthday present. With heart racing, I opened to kitchen door to find a plastic model car on the doorstep. (In fairness, I had been pestering the hell out of them for months beforehand, knowing we really couldn't afford any such thing.)

Honestly, and I think @hmp10 has said it before, as someone who LOVES my Gravity and wants the company and model to be successful, I think they need to squash some more bugs prior to really ramping. Folks who have it are patient, etc. If more EV newbies or less enthusiastic/ impatient people begin to receive the car and have fob or other issues, it will be a whole controversy and create more issues for Lucid, absurd reviews, etc. Just my ten cents…my two cents are free. 😏

It will be interesting to see what the big unveil of something new from Lucid is tomorrow. If the speculation is true that Lucid is going to announce the release of some off-road variant of the Gravity, I will only be able to shake my head in disbelief that they would do this in the middle of the morass of issues they're having getting reliable Dreams and Grand Tourings into customers' hands.

…also, since I already have a speed form from the demo drive, can I please get a free frunk cushion? I could use it on a bench until our GDE comes. Just askin’…

We all know the unveil will be Timothee Chalamet dressed as Willy Wonka, popping out of the frunk to sing “Pure Imagination” and offering free chocolate speed forms of the Gravity. Instead of sending an email, they should have just sent a clip of Timothee singing:

“Don't be shy, it's alright
If you feel a little trepidation
Sometimes these things don't need

I need to share this to show what Lucid is up against. InsideEVs originally published a totally false article today saying there was only 9 Gravity deliveries. I called out this loser liar author and they corrected their article and now it says “hundreds”, really they should pull the article as it’s not even a story, and should never hire whoever the freelance loser author is as he stopped counting deliveries in June so he could get a story. So Lucid is up against material shortages and finding workarounds while simultaneously trying to grow buyers while clickbait sites are literally lying about the company. I know they make a great car even with the hiccups so they’ll weather this storm ok but it is surprising to see even a more reputable site like InsideEVs pile on Lucid even though at least they had the integrity to correct their wrong article. https://insideevs.com/news/768952/lucid-gravity-units-sold/

Yes, that’s absurd. They’ve definitely delivered hundreds or more, also, don’t forget, a lot have gone to KSA and Lucid has to produce two different types of vehicles (CCS and NACS) right now. This is actually quite complex, as Lucid explained in one of the absurdly long OOS videos.

It will be interesting to see where total deliveries end up. The article and company have pointed to rare earth minerals as the hold up, but it seems to those of us that have had to step down spec for orders are being limited by component availability. They seem to have the vehicles, just not the vehicles that most of us have wanted.

So I just got the aforementioned email from Marc Winterhoff a few minutes ago. I read it to my wife and she immediately laughed and asked if the model would have the heads up display! 🤣

My wife wants to know how many more of these SpeedForm models are we going to get?
