Gravity Delivery Discussion

There's something wonky going on with the Dashboard on the Lucid website. The image of the Black Gravity DE we have on order has been switched from a black car to an Aurora Green car.

I've quit trying to find out when it will be delivered, as I'm in no hurry to get it given the issues we're having with the green Gravity DE we've already received. But I guess I'd better contact my SA to be sure the configuration hasn't somehow gotten changed in the system. (The green is a great color, but we don't want two of them.)
Yes, the online dashboard has a bug or two. Consistent with the Gravity and Air… 😀

I'm *more* jealous.. I just went through the DE Reservations Tracker and matched all the Abyss Black, 20"F / 21"R, Tahoe's. Here's what it looks like:

I'm not the earliest, but I did order before Bunny and FeelLicks! :)

Proximity to Lucid could play a factor since @FeelLicks is in NoCal... keep us posted on your delivery and congrats!
I’m glad folks are taking delivery. And I also don’t understand how Lucid is prioritizing - or not. So many folks here ordered in November 2024 and have heard crickets. No different than when Tesla and Rivian start with new models, but odd nonetheless.

Between HUDs not being available, AC power plugs apparently in short supply, two paint colors coming months from now, and only two interior colors in production yet, I think the waiting lists for delivery are going to get longer before they get shorter.

Someone at Lucid has also told me that they are slowing deliveries because of the shortage of replacement parts for cars that have already been delivered -- something that I think is actually a wise move.

Based on the ~300 miles we've put on our Gravity so far, it is already a phenomenal driving machine and passenger conveyance with a rock solid structure. And it's on its way to becoming a world-beater in its vehicle category just as the Air became once its early production and software kinks were worked out.

But, frankly, the Gravity -- and the supply chain behind it -- are nowhere near ready for volume production yet.

I am doing my best to reframe my expectations. It's been really hard to do, but it's definitely the right thing to do. I had originally hoped for a spring delivery, since I was early on the list and also got on board the Dream Edition train. Then I hoped I would be sometime over the summer, at least by Labor Day. There is now no chance of that, and honestly at this point I think I have to get my head around a possible 2026 delivery. This is crushingly disappointing.

But with that said, I live 1.5 hours away from a service center in perfect traffic conditions, and considering that service center is basically on the DC Beltway, I am 2-2.5 hours away from a service center. I will be furious if I get a car that locks me out or won't start and leaves me stranded at dinner, or at the Costco, or even worse on some road trip 150 miles from home. I dread the possibility of having to explain/defend to my friends and family why I spent >$100K on a car that works intermittently and sound like some deranged fanboy.

I started to flip a switch in my head a year ago that I wanted a new car; my S is now approaching 8 years old and although it's still a great car I enjoy driving every day, the range is down a bit and I would genuinely like something a bit bigger. But I don't *need* a new car, so this is mostly an ego thing and I just have to get over myself.

I am so hopeful for the promise of what Gravity could be, and sounds like it is for some of you when it is working. But I am very, very disappointed with the execution of this rollout. But disappointment = expectation - reality, and expectation is the one variable I control here.

I’ve not seen or heard about the Mojave interiors being delivered or in studio. The demo drive GGTs they took around the country had Yosemite (at least the two I saw)…that’s the only interior I’ve seen other than Tahoe.

Yeah, that's what I thought but the person I talked to in the studio was telling me that they'd delivered some already after we were talking about what my order build was. I wondered then (and now) if he just had his interior color names mixed up.

I would expect he either a) had them confused or b) just didn’t really know.

I will just say I can sympathize. Our second Model S now has 150k on it from 2018. It still has sufficient range for long trips. The software on the S has improved and then deteriorated, especially the FSD. I no longer use FSD, I now set it to autopilot which seems work well on the highway which is the only place I want to use driving assist.
We lived through all the unique bugs Tesla had to offer including being locked out of the car due to a 12v battery issue. That 12v issue was resolved with a software fix that Tesla never admitted to.
I fully expect to have to deal with new design issues with the Gravity. That said I’m looking at a 7 passenger vehicle with a very usable frunk, a decent storage area behind the third row, a very nicely appointed interior and an engineering team I have a lot of faith in. Unlike the Teslas I think most of the issues will get resolved with software fixes. I am so looking forward to owning this vehicle.

I was supposed to take delivery today but the studio called me this morning to say that during detail a message appeared that said “a pump” failed.

I asked for a new ETA, which they could not provide. They are apparently deciding whether or not the car can be repaired or if they’ll need to replace the pump, but they are leaning towards replacement. Hopefully there are enough spare parts.

I thought that might be the case.
A few weeks ago someone else mentioned the same issue and then the color of my Gravity changed on the dashboard early last week.

However, since my Gravity was due for delivery to the Tysons service center today, I used the dashboard change as cover to contact my SA to see if it had actually arrived.
She confirmed it's a system glitch and sent my a picture of this car that reminds me of when I was young and wanted a drum set for Christmas.

I also asked her if she could have the service tech install the 3.2.2 update.

Arrived earlier today.
The one behind mine looks like it has the stealth appearance.

Almost there.
Good thing the pump failed at the service center than your house.

Good luck! I completely understand your disappointment. We have one of the few GDEs that has been well-behaved. If you genuinely want a car quickly, work with your SA. Maybe something with different wheel sizes etc will appear. I also know from my SA that Lucid will highly prioritize GDE deliveries. Assuming parts arrive in a month or two, you should get the car promptly thereafter. Keep the faith.

For our GGT, I’ve been flexible but I have to have the power package. That seems to be a big hold up. I have been offered several with no power package. Almost bit…I may if it gets to end of August and still no movement on GGT or my GDE.

I should be taking delivery next week.
However, I'm preparing myself for your experience.
Taking train up to see in-person before delivery to home.

That's very smart. I read a bunch of horror stories about early Cybertruck deliveries, where in the case of a problem owners were told it would be 3-6 months for repair parts.

But, frankly, the Gravity -- and the supply chain behind it -- are nowhere near ready for volume production yet.
I think you're right, given the number of problem reports here; they would be swamped with service requests. Everything seems SO CLOSE though -- I would love to hear a retrospective on what's happened from January to now. As much as there are disappointed future owners here, I'm sure nobody is more disappointed that the people at Lucid who want to get people into these vehicles!

We're close to 1000 miles now and we love driving ours despite the occasional glitch (glad we hadn't traded in the X, though!), but the average consumer is likely to be less forgiving of the more glaring software issues. At the very least, I would be holding deliveries until the key/communications issue is fixed. I imagine there are a few people working around the clock on that.

Hilarious that you said this because it apparently was a software glitch 😂 Delivery is back on
Sadly, that's one of the first things to learn with any new EV... the soft reboot sequence. Had to do it many times in my 2021 Mustang Mach-E, and now a few times on our new 2025 Porsche Macan EV. I'm sure I'll be doing it when I get my Gravity too.

Speaking of which, how is it done in the Gravity?

I just added my original order date of 4/22 to my timeline records, maybe that factored in?

Just got an update from my SA my car has arrived at inspection but was told it would take up to 2 weeks, maybe they're being extra careful with inspections after recent issues - which I'm totally OK with.
