Gravity Bugs / Issues

For those of us who don't yet have a Lucid, could you clarify what the difference is between the "key" and the "key card" you're talking about?
The key is a standard FOB like you'd get with any other car. The Key card is a credit-card size card that can be used to start the car as well.

As @Bdr100 says above the key fob is a reasonably standard key fob which you might see on any car. It uses UWB (Ultra Wide Band) for the communication with the car instead of bluetooth (the Lucid Air uses a bluetooth key fob). The key card is a credit car sized NFC card which you hold against a dot on the B pillar (the pillar between the drivers door and the left passenger door). This NFC card allows you to unlock the car and start the car. If your key fob is hosed (that's a technical term  ) and you don't have internet (and thus the Lucid App can't contact the car) the key card works since everything required for the key card to work is local to the Gravity

Yep. Answering a zombie thread by a brand new member is often a spammer growing some legitimacy.

Same here. It's a luxury car, afterall. I never drive it with the windows down.

I don't even use the drive thru lane at fast food restaurants. But I do occasionally park in parking garages that I use a parking card to access.
Yeah, that's my driving pattern as well. Occasionally roll the window down for a key pad, parking ticket, or to talk to a neighbor (or highway patrol officer 🤣), but when I'm driving I always have the windows up. Between climate control and listening to the radio, windows up is better.

Is anyone else having an issue with wireless CarPlay after 6.3.4? I can’t get it to work even when forgetting and repairing the device or trying other iPhones. Sorry, I may have asked this question already…
Our CP disconnected from my Wife's iPhone on the way back from Mendocino this morning. We tried to reconnect it first through Blue Tooth then through the USB cable.
Finally I connected my iPhone through Blue Tooth and brought CP back up after dickin' around with all of it for 10min

No rhyme or reason to it...just glitchy
Either that or the car was as sick of her music as...oh nevermind 😜

Ha! Yeah, I got mine working again today. It was not working since 6.3.4 OTA but I guess that was coincidence. No rhyme or reason. Just worked after the 100th time!

Two questions:

1) Whistling HVAC - though nowhere near as bad as before, whistling seems to be back a bit with AC with 6.3.4. Anyone else experiencing?

2) Self parking- not really a bug, but it’s never worked since I got the car. Anyone know if it’s supposed to work? It pops up as an option but it never recognizes spaces - even when they’re simple to get into and/or I’ve lined up the car already.

never worked for me either, I just assumed its coming eventually with the other Dream Drive vaporware

funnily enough I just saw this (6 minute mark Kyle tries to autopark)

although I found this comment in the video

"Gravity owner here. Similar to the Air, the parking feature only works with spaces to the right of the vehicle. So you would have needed to be closer to the spaces on the right side. The display also shows this by only depicting spaces on the right if the vehicle."

I only got it to work in the Air when there was two clear things adjacent to the spots, whether it was 2 cars or a car and hedge. Which kinda makes sense, I see no point in auto parking when I usually just park the car away from everything else in a parking lot with 4 spots clear on front, sides etc...

I wonder if it will do the left if you turn the turn signal on that direction? That's the way our Fords worked. Used the turn signal to tell it which side to look on.

That would be a bummer if it only looks at objects but not painted lines.

I’d prefer they remove the option. I’ve not been able to get it to engage with spaces or on right, left or in front of me. Seems like it’s not THAT hard given many cars without great hands free driving can auto park.

As long as they keep showing it as an option and having it not work, it just makes it more frustrating for folks. But that may just be me.

Again, I can park myself. But if it’s an option that always pops up, it should work.

It does work - if you are parking on the right, either parallel or perpendicular, and it has two cars to slot between.

It does not work for me. I have tried many times. Regardless, those are some fairly strict qualifiers that are not in the manual or in the self park prompt that appears on screen in the UI. I may have missed the guidance, so happy to be wrong if that’s the case.

I've definitely had it work on the left as well. However, neither side works very consistently. It seems to find parking spaces about 5% of the times I've tried before I give up and just park myself.

When I was talking to the software lead in Charlotte I asked about Auto-Park not working. He said that it does not look at the lines on the pavement. The spot has to be between two other cars. I've still never gotten this to work for me. Mine just drives right past spots like that. Might need to mess with it more, but trying not to look stupid circling the parking lot and passing perfectly good parking spots.

I suggested it would be nice if the car could auto-park in my garage. That is, after all, the place you park most. If it could perfectly center itself in the space available and ensure clearance for the garage door to close that would be epic.

Could you take a video? I believe you, I’m just quite curious; you have to drive pretty slowly, and pretty close to the other cars.

This may all be moot anyway; I find it slow, so I don’t generally use it, but it does work for me.
