Gravity Bugs / Issues

I'm writing about my experiences with owning the Gravity GT and the various problems I've had since taking possesion 10/30/25. The first issue was when I was notified my vehilce
was ready to pick up mid October. A day before scheduled I received a text that the light bar in the rear was not working and they needed to rpelace. This took two weeks.
When I finally went down to Millbrae, CA to pick it up there were various glitches, black screen, rear seats not fully folding down etc. After a hard reset they seem to get resolved.
Besides the ususal sofware glitches and continual various error messages I notice my drivers window would go up but then come back down halfway. I had to hold the button and
finesse it back just right to close the window. Also I noticed the light on the front passenger door was the only one working. Early December they took my car into service to fix these issues and check on the various error messages coming up. they eventually told me that they fixed the window with a new regulator and that since I didn't have the technology package I shouldn't have any lights on the doors so they disconnected the one I had. Also I forgot to mention my windshield wipers were not functionng well so they changed the blades. Two weeks had passed and I got my car back. They did give me a loaner, an Air, while they had my car. Nine days later my drivers door handle would not present itself and I was unable to open the drivers door without going into the car from the rear or passenger side and opening it manually from the inside. Also the driver window was now not operational at all. I contacted service and they picked up my vehicel the next day Dec 30. They gave me a loaner. Jan 14 th they notified me the car was repaired and ready. They wanted to update the software overnight. The next day they said the update revealed more about the issues with the door handle and window and they would need to keep my car.
Jan 19th they told me it was a corroded wiring harness and they ordered a new handle and harness. The next day they said the car was ready but unfortunately I am out of town so
I will have to wait till next week to get the car back. This time they had it for three weeks before they said it was ready for pick up. In total my car has been in service for 5 weeks of the ten weeks I have owned it. I know there is a California Lemon Law and I will see if my car already qualifies. I am hoping all will be well when I get it back next week as I truly enjoy driving the car but don't want to go through another lengthy service and repair appointment in the near future. anyone else having similar experiences?
Yes, but once everything was finally fixed, it stayed fixed.

There's some complexity to the law, but needing to repair the same flaw 4 or more times, or 30 days or more in the shop is the threshold for the lemon law kicking in. Be aware that once you threaten to invoke the lemon law with Lucid, you do run the risk of being handed from the service team to the legal team, and turning the relationship hostile. That said, I don't think I've read a first hand report from someone invoking the lemon law with Lucid, so hard to say how they react. Also, while one can handle a lemon law complaint without a lawyer, it is a legal dispute with plenty of gray areas, and you might consider consulting a lemon law attorney prior to threatening Lucid with such a claim.

Wait---what?
?

I’m also getting the sensor blocked / DreamDrive limited warnings occasionally, have been since I bought the car; but nothing is actually broken.

New issue I've observed several times now in last month or two

Top map freezes if the map not also displayed on pilot panel. Resolved when map displayed on both screens.

Doesn't happen every time but has happened for duration of a drive on 5 or 6 different occasions.
Mine too. Actually, cost me a few exits a few weeks ago before I realized it was frozen...I guess that might be on me lol
But what does concern me is the last few days I'm having issues again with the car not wanting to open (even with app and keycard). Twice in one day I had to do a reset to get the car to wake up so I could drive it. I wonder what would cause it to digress?? I had just started to come to expect the doors to unlock AND I would be able to drive once I got in...the nerve I have !!

It is weird. The last 2 weeks I’ve had a handful of issues with the car either not locking when walking away or not unlocking when approaching it. Pressing the button on the fob does nothing either when it happens (battery is fine). Before that though, the proximity locking/unlocking had been spot on. 🤷‍♂️

This morning was the first time since I got my Gravity 2 months ago that the prox unlock (and then lock) didn't work. The fob buttons worked just fine for both. The rest of the day today, everything was back to working just fine. Gotta love software bugs!

This is weird. On the last app update, my Air would wake up really fast like just a few seconds. It was amazing! A few days later…back to snow wake up and the spinning circle. I don’t understand.

gee, being awakened by snow...that sounds really cold (...Unless it's two feet of powder!)

This happened to me. Replacing the battery resolved this issue even though I didn’t get any battery warnings.

I watched 2 YouTube videos that said the same thing. One guy measure his fob battery at just 2.8V, while a new one was 3.3v. It's appearing that Lucid might have used a weak batch of fob batteries for some Gravitys. Anyone experiencing a fob issue might want to just go ahead and pop in a new CR2450 battery just in case. Mine hasn't had an issue yet, but after watching Notch EV have that issue in the Easter Edge race, I threw an extra battery in the glovebox just in case.

Yes! I swear right after we get new updates everything works great and then after some time, slowly starts to degrade until we get the next update. It’s very weird. The car was spot on after the 3.3.2 (never had a window issue) and then in these last couple weeks, proximity unlock/lock is a toss up. I’ll click lock, door handles will pull in and I hear the lock sound yet the mirrors don’t fold in and the dash screen stays on. Have to unlock and lock. Twice this happened I’ll back out of a parking spot, back up just enough to trigger one beep on the parking sensor, go into drive and the car will continue to make the beeping sound until I pull over, park and reset the car. I tested it out the first time the car never stopped beeping my whole 25 minute drive home. Four rear wheel steer warnings. Multiple key fobs not detected warnings. And my favorite one the other day, as I was driving to work, in drive, going 45mph on a road, the car beeped and said key fob not detected. Hah, I would say that is definitely new, car was already in drive and moving and then said no key detected.

Agree - I've had a decline in software stability over the last few weeks - auto lock/unlock, occasional key not detected, frozen or laggy menu changes on the screen, map freezing if not displayed on both screens etc. issues I never really had first few months of ownership.

I had very few issues on 3.3.9. I downloaded 3.3.20 when it came out but didn't notice any meaningful improvements. I actually think screen lag and such got worse after 3.3.20 and there has been a clear annoying but not critical decline in software performance since. I almost never rebooted the car previously but now do it once a week or so. I had my first and only long freeze where I couldn't get the car in drive for 5+ minutes.

Also - does the difference in color tone on the splash screen drive anyone else insane?

Oh - and just did a hard reboot and it's stuck on this splash screen for several minutes , first time with that as well.

Bottom line - software stability getting worse steadily over the last month.

The last week or two I've also had two issues rarely encountered:
  • Unresponsive fob; resolved by removing and inserting the same battery; randomly once each week; not replacing unless issue becomes more common
  • One instance of rear wheel steering error message when exiting car
I know these two issues are regular occurrences for some, but in five months of ownership, the two above issues have only happened one other time.

Car usually solid.

New bug here . . .

We finally got our newest Gravity back yesterday from three weeks with the PPF and radar installers. I was drying it this morning after washing it and could not get the rear hatch to stay closed. Every time I activated it through either the screen, the button on the hatch, or the key fob, it closed, made an odd grinding sound, and immediately reopened without latching. I finally got it to latch by pushing it manually shut, but even then it was not fully sealing until I pressed hard on the right side of the hatch.

Yet another Gravity and another day of dealing with unending malfunctions . . . .

The mobile tech has been at our our house twice in the past week and is coming back next week to replace a warped underbody panel on our other Gravity, which will be shipped the following week to a service center to deal with the lengthy list of its malfunctions.

PSA for folks with wireless charging issues:

The new iOS 26 has a known wireless charging issue for certain iPhones. When my phone wouldn’t charge wirelessly in the car, I noticed it stopped working on my nightstand charger and my wife’s stopped about the same time.

Easy fix - have to reset your iPhone. Wireless charging now works fine for me in car and at home.

So, my center console IS behaving but for the ever consistent blocking of GPS and cell signal if my phone is near it…not a huge issue for now.
My Iphone charges wirelessly at home. but not on the Gravity console.
Any suggestion?

Here is a new one, abit concerning and very unexpected. I'm not really sure what to make of it. See attached picture and see if any of the math the navigation is telling me makes sense to you all. Mind you this was after 20 minutes of driving. I really thought it would re calculate after a minute but it never did until after we charged. We were heading across the state right though the middle of the Ocala National Forest, had I not been paying attention we could have very easy been stuck tonight. Or more accurately, had I trusted navigation and not realized I could not possibly go 80 miles on 9kw of battery...
It's almost like that should be saying negative 11%
Thoughts??

Maybe remove the case and ensure its in the correct spot?
Otherwise, service has replaced a lot of other ppl's center consoles....jus' sayin'

Mines in for service now and it seems there’s an active campaign to check the NFC tray

Looks like a bug and this would be good to report to [email protected].

What did your range display show for dynamic range and efficiency? I always cross check navigation with back of the envelope calculations based on remaining battery and range. Make sure worst-case dynamic range (adjusting for elevation gain) is always less than the distance to a charging station.
