Gravity Bugs / Issues

PSA. For anyone tinting their windshield, don’t let the tint shop take off the mounts on the windshield for the visor. Unknown to me, the shop I went to took off the mounts, put them back on with their own adhesive. It’s failed twice and the fallen visor triggers the alarm for a break in, which is definitely fun considering all the key fob issues I’ve had. Anyways, it’s in for service for Dream drive issues and I asked them to fix the visor….drum roll, the only fix they have is to replace the whole windshield. I’ll just have to find some adhesive myself that works.
I'm guessing Lucid doesn't consider the windshield replacement to be a warranty repair, and is going to charge you for it? If so, I'd be fascinated to know what the bill for that is.

Just an update on mine after about 10 days of ownership: First 5 days, every morning I came out to a warning/error message that stayed on through first drive/rest. Then each day it would disappear and be fine. Oddly, the past 4-5 days, it's had no errors or warnings. No idea why but I'll take it...(only major change that it coincided with was my location, but wouldn't guess that location impacted this.)

BTW-I called my delivery specialist and talked through these with him. He said some people are having fewer warnings if you get in the car and do nothing for 15-20 seconds while it does its initial turn-on. Only then touch the brake. Not sure this will help, but it makes sense to let the car do it's start-up sequence before giving it more commands, I guess.
Agree, I let the vehicle complete the startup process and I do not see any errors... I've not tried, recently, to jump in and go to test the logic but if it works don't break it :)

I've had 2 Lucid windshields tinted (Air and Gravity) and the tint company did not unglue the mounts. You can remove the mechanical part of the mount with a #20 Torx screw. Here is a response from Grok for those that want more details:

Both models use a detachable visor clip that's secured with a T20 Torx screw (star-shaped, T20 size). Removing the screw allows you to fully detach the visor arm from the ceiling, but it does leave behind a small metal or plastic mounting pad that's bonded to the windshield (or in some cases the headliner area near the windshield).

Most professional tint shops are very familiar with working around these pads. They typically:
  • Mask off the pad carefully before tinting
  • Cut the tint film precisely around the pad if needed
  • In many cases, they can even tuck or float the tint edge cleanly around it so it's barely noticeable
A few owners on the Lucid Owners forum have had full windshield or full-front tints done with the pads still in place and reported excellent results—no bubbling, peeling, or visible lines around the pad.

If you're planning to remove the entire pad (not just the visor clip), that's a much more involved process—it’s glued with very strong adhesive (similar to rear-view mirror mounts), and removing it risks cracking the windshield. Almost no one does that. Leaving the pad and having the tint shop work around it is the standard and safe approach.

So yes, T20 Torx to remove the visor itself, and any reputable tint shop should have no issue working around the remaining pad.

It’s probably going to be around $2K or so. Definitely won’t be covered under warranty because a 3rd party messed with something they shouldn’t have.

Same here on my DE with all sorts of key/fob issues but seems to be getting a little better with the latest update. However, still not reliable and I hope the phone key is in the works...that has been bulletproof on my Teslas.

Two issues I wonder if others have had:

1. Microphone volume very low. I am unable to use the in-car microphone as the other party says the volume is very, very low. As a result, I use my AirPods 100% of the time for in-car calls. The local Lucid tech has ordered replacement microphones, and we will see if that fixes the issue. I was able to demonstrate by calling the tech from inside the car while switching between the car microphones and my AirPods - the difference was notable. Anyone having a similar issue...maybe something to do with a SW setting for gain?

2. Creature comfort hangs. I have found that about 30% of the time, when I return to the car after enabling creature comfort for my dog, the screen refuses to go out of the creature comfort mode, and no buttons anywhere work. I have tried to reboot several times, and each time it returns to the creature comfort screen and is unresponsive. At this point, the car seems bricked. What has cleared the issue is simply opening the driver's door after I have been in the car and tried multiple reboots. It looks like the door being opened from the inside exits a hung creature comfort state. This is clearly a SW issue and should be addressed.

The car is absolutely fantastic to drive, and the DE with the large tires still has a great range compared to my Teslas. Love it. Just if some of the SW issues would stabilize and be addressed....
I am late to this discussion but have discovered that if you have a stuck climate system on 3.3.9, that going into the Lucid mobile app and turning off the climate via the app actually deactivates it, go figure 🤔

Gravity SS Pro system and Tidal lossless with Dolby Atmos are all new to me, so I'm trying to understand why I'm experiencing a sound rollercoaster. I specifically picked one of Atmos playlists (one of decades collections) where all songs are coded in Atmos, but they are collected from various albums and artists. Some songs sound amazing - depth, clarity, range, bass that hurts my eardrums, while others sound flat and muffled, like I have earplugs in. Why such range of experiences? Is it from the way it was mixed and released by the studio, or the way Tidal is handling it? I assume it's not related to Gravity's SS Pro system, but maybe it is?
I’m late to reply but the explanation for this is that until recently Atmos mix levels were wildly inconsistent due to many mixers being new to the format for music mixing even though film mixers have been doing Atmos since 2010. My friend Nat is a pro audio engineer and mixes in Atmos daily and has actually developed software that is solving this problem where you can batch set master levels for all deliverable formats, it’s getting adopted pretty quickly so most Atmos music mixes as of 2025 will be far more consistent, but 2024 and prior years may be inconsistent without remastering.

We bought a used Air Dream P to replace our original one that was totaled in an accident. The first time it went to a Service Center the driver side visor fell off while there. They said the visor had been removed at some point and replaced with an improper adhesive. (I know from old posts on this forum that some early buyers were experimenting with removing the visors to get a cleaner canopy look, and I wonder if this had been one such car.)

Lucid had to replace the windshield, saying that they come from the glass supplier with the visor mounts already attached and not even the Lucid factory has the means to mount them. (I'm wondering if there's some sort of heat curing involved during windshield production?)

Lucid replaced the windshield free of charge since the visor came off in their shop. Frankly, though, I didn't think it was a warranty issue, and I told them I'd be willing to pay for it. (This was still early days, though, and there were a lot of "freebies" for early buyers that have since disappeared, quite understandably as their volume ramps up.)

People should also remember that window film is meant to be easily removable, so gluing a visor on top of window film is not going to provide a stable installation as the film itself is not strongly attached to the glass. I really don't understand why a tint shop would do such a thing. If the visor were to let go on a driver attempting to use it while driving it could be a safety issue.

I would introduce you to our Lucid mobile tech, but he's unpacking right now and setting up his room. We both just figured it was easier than the daily trek out to our place.
Hey, wait just a minute! I’m pretty sure we share his services. Although I must admit he has only been here once and that just to take a log.

The perks of being a volume user. 🥴

Does anyone else have an issue with the middle ambient light strip resetting back to ‘Zen’ when the car cycles? It’s really annoying. The car looks so sad at night without proper ambient lighting. When I got the Gravity technology package was not available

So here is a new one. Set a destination to a FPL Dac chaarger. Initial information came up correctly.
Then I noticed this, note rated range and mi on arrival.

So this is just for anyone DC charging in Florida. Note FPL chargers are .30 / kwh so cheaper than most. Tested out a local FPL EVolution 400kw charger in preparation for a trip. Could not get the charge to initiate through the app although it put a $25 hold on my card 4 times. I was trying the nacs connector. After 4 trys and two different stations I thought I’d try the CCS adapter. Worked like a charm first time.

It’s a bug that’s been existent from day 1 unfortunately. Dealbreaker? No, extremely annoying nonetheless.

Of course not a deal breaker, just an annoying bug that should have been fixed by now

I completely agree with you. How the lighting profile and the AC Arctic blast haven’t been fixed in numerous updates is annoying to say the least. It’s winter! I don’t need full AC blasting when I get in the car! 😂

Small audio item: When backup up and nearing a curb, I got the Blub-blub alert sound from the proper location (Rear-Right). But after driving off the sound continued at reduced volume (same location). The audio volume for music sources was also reduced to about half with the Blub-blub barely audible. When I arrived at my location and backed into my parking spot I got the alert sound for being close to the rear curb and the music source volume increased. The alert stopped after parking and didn't come back later.

Has anyone noticed a whistling noise while driving at 40–60 mph? I suspected the vents, but opening or closing them didn’t help.

Yes. It not only resets to "Zen", it also goes back to full brightness. It's just another one of the things we have to reset every time we get in the car (although only at night for this one) -- along with getting back to Tidal or Spotify because the car resets on Sirius, and adjusting the suspension height which stays on the last (usually low) setting although the drive mode resets to "Smooth", which should return the suspension height to standard.

I find this last one particularly annoying. I usually drive in Swift mode but manually adjust the suspension to low. But upon restart, the car has reverted to Smooth mode but the suspension remains set to low. That would be fine if it held that once I switched back to Swift mode to get underway. But as soon as I get underway the suspension starts raising itself, and I have to go back to the screen to lower it. I know that EPA regs require the car to default to the most efficient drive mode upon starting up, but I really wish Lucid would make "low" the default suspension height when going to Swift mode, as most drivers probably choose it for a bit more sporting drive where you would want a lower suspension setting.

But back to the ambient light issue: when we go back to the menu to turn the brightness down and change the color, the color will switch but the rotary brightness control does nothing. The only way we can get the brightness down is to turn the ambient lighting off and then back on, at which time it finally goes to both the color and brightness settings we had set it to earlier.

Getting underway in the Gravity is a royal pain. As frustrated as I am that it didn't even make to a finalist slot for Motor Trend's SUV of the Year, I can actually understand why. The ever evolving array of glitches just so dampen the driving experience.
