Seeing loads of software issues with the Gravity so far! Most of them are just an inconvenience and part of the early ownership experience but wanted to create a thread for issues
For those of us who don't yet have a Lucid, could you clarify what the difference is between the "key" and the "key card" you're talking about?A major annoyance so far is the key does not work sometimes, the car won't sense the key after sitting in it.
Wondering if anyone else is having this issue and wonder if my key battery needs replacing? Happened at least 3 times in the last couple of days
One time we just sat in the car for 10 minutes and it wouldn't switch on, then we went and got the key card and it worked, strangely the key worked again for the rest of the day but stopped again today morning
The poster's "key" is usually called the "fob". It comes with the car.For those of us who don't yet have a Lucid, could you clarify what the difference is between the "key" and the "key card" you're talking about?
You're probably going to have continued issues with the sensors if you don't get the PPF cut out around them. The sensors aren't flush with the bumper so it creates an air gap causing the sensors to have a hissy fit every now and then. Save yourself the hassle and just have the PPF cut out to not obstruct the sensor. Also pictures of my DE after PPF, Ceramic Coating and Window Tints!
I had an issue where it kept saying sensors blocked after getting PPF + rest (Deep Reflections), the blind spot cameras and multiple other features stopped working for about half an hour
I called Alejandro and he said do a car reset, so after doing a "soft reset", click lock twice and walk away the warnings went away after driving about 15-20 miles!
My DE is Aurora Green, Tahoe, 21 / 22 mid size
Charging at Tesla Supercharger was absolutely seamless, my first time visiting one and first EV
The key fob is programmed to go to sleep to preserve battery. See if shaking it to wake it up helps with your issue. Always carry the NFC card as a backup, you just need to place it on the wireless charing area to get the car to go into driveA major annoyance so far is the key does not work sometimes, the car won't sense the key after sitting in it.

If in doubt, just put a new non-bitterant-coated CR2032 battery in the fob. It costs less than a dollar and takes less than a minute.A major annoyance so far is the key does not work sometimes, the car won't sense the key after sitting in it.

Apparently the PPF was cut out around all the sensors as far as I can tell and this installer came highly recommended from other air ownersYou're probably going to have continued issues with the sensors if you don't get the PPF cut out around them. Shaking doesn't help, the unlock, lock or any button on the key doesn't work now, called the service center. They said they don't have extra keys, can't try replacing the battery on the key and recommend using the key card if it's workingThe key fob is programmed to go to sleep to preserve battery. Note that the fob may not be detected if placed in the cupholder area. I keep mine in my pocket.
First off, don’t come attacking me for claiming that “the sky is falling” but I am very, very concerned about the key issues on the Gravity. Dhruv is not the only poster to complain about key issues with early Gravity deliveries. We all know that key issues are by far the most complained about issue with the Air. When I brought this concern up some time ago and stated my worry that this might carry over to the Gravity, I was assured by a couple forum members that the Gravity would use a totally different key system different from Air, and should not worry. Well, based on some early postings, I am definitely worried.
Personally, some of the other issues like CarPlay, Homelink, DDP, I know will be resolved. If the HUD doesn’t get resolved in the next 4-6 months before my Gravity order comes up, I may just delete it from order and save $2000.
I know a lot of you are long time early EV adopters and cut your teeth on early Tesla, Rivian and Lucid issues and so are more patient and understanding. But if Lucid is going to survive, they need to attract ICE converts like myself. They also need to understand that Tesla and Rivian are not their competition. Mercedes, BMW, Porsche and Cadillac are their competition is the luxury performance market. But people like myself are used to core systems like keyless entry just plain working, all the time, no work arounds, no need to shake keys, open phone apps.
Yeah, Lucid needs to throw a lot more effort into software….hope Lucid leadership is listening.First off, don’t come attacking me for claiming that “the sky is falling” but I am very, very concerned about the key issues on the Gravity. Oops, yes, glad you ordered the correct one. It's been so long with just the Air that I wasn't careful enough to check which vehicle you have....The service center said the key battery may be different from the Air and may not be easily removable
EDIT : Was able to remove, placed Amazon order and will try changing battery
