Every time I have a software issue, I think of the car responding to me by saying “I am disinclined to acquiesce to your request…”

Has anyone actually used it this way for valet??? I'm tempted to try, but the fact one has to tap the "remote" thing to put it in drive adds an extra step meaning you might have to hang around and wait for them to actually park the car. And then sometimes valet places like to move cars around because of stacked parking. that's certainly not going to work.

I'm curious about valeting in general and wondering what others do with the Gravity, just give them a keycard or the fob?

I carry the keycard in my money clip, along with my license and credit card. I just hand them the keycard and tell them where to place the card. Polestar and Tesla have you place the card in the same area, so I've found all but one valet could figure it out.

Indeed. I have a keychain with both the fob and card and I give them that

For 2 minutes after unlocking the car with the card, you don't need to place the card anywhere. You can just drive it.

I didn't look closely enough at the differences between Standard and Premium (although I also found some unclear and possibly contradictory info in the various descriptions). I wasn't getting a top (overhead) view before the update though. Just front and rear basic views only. I do love the distance indicator. I find that extremely useful (even if not perfectly accurate). I'm a little surprised they didn't ax that one from DD2 Standard as well. I do notice it takes a second or two to settle on a number though. When I first pull into my garage and get within range of the front, there's a slight lag for the distance to catch up to how close I really am by then. So I need to wait a second or two for that. But that's fine since I'm only inching forward by then anyway.

They told me 2 months ago that they would be adding an Upgrade feature in the app to allow us to upgrade our DD2 level from Standard to Premium (for the +$1500 difference). I'll be doing that when (if?) it comes available. Just a software unlock, apparently. They said that was "coming soon" but we all know what that could mean.

I’m in a new Gravity, but we still have the Tesla Model 3 that we’ve been driving for 6+ years. The only good thing that I can say about the Tesla FSD is that when it is engaged there is no way that I will ever fall asleep at the wheel because I’m terrified of what weird thing it’s going to do next. I picked my Gravity up in Seattle and on the day that I picked it up drove 500 miles home to Boise, Idaho. I have the enhanced DD2 and absolutely loved the way that the drivers assist performed out on the freeway. I just hope that Lucid doesn’t screw things up by going too far down the FSD rathole like Tesla did.

That must have been you I saw, I hadn’t seen another Gravity in Boise.

Seattle did the same BS to me, sent me out the door with a new car with problems. The good news is Rocklin is our service center now, Seattle was an awful service center. The bad news is their mobile service guy quit in March so…yeah. They told me they “hope to get someone trained in June” who will be doing a loop through Boise eventually. It’s just one guy for all of southern Idaho and Utah. Hopefully my Lemon Law case will be solved by then though.

Sorry different thread, but related. He was delivered a car with old firmware that needed key fob service on day one but didn’t know till he got back to Boise. Back in my day that meant you’re shipping the car back to Seattle and crossing your fingers. We get Rocklin here now though!

Good to hear that there is another one in Boise. So I'm not the only person crazy enough to purchase an experimental vehicle so far from a Service Center. Turns out the drive home from Seattle was great, but the car started giving me major problems 2 days after I got home. Lucid contracted with a covered trailering contractor to have my car shipped to Rocklin where they replaced the rear drive Unit / Inverter then shipped it back to me. It took about 2 weeks, but it looks like it is fixed.

Not for long! I’m taking them to arbitration. 10 weeks in service of the 6 months I’ve owned my Air. Twice shipped to Seattle and it’s currently in Rocklin. Literally the worst car I’ve ever owned and the worst service I’ve ever had. You can check my threads about it.

The Gravity loaner I’ve got has a software errors almost every day, has crooked trim, squeaky center console and a crooked roof above the hatch-but-it does drive nice. Air is the same way, firm but not tooooo firm. Really well tuned suspension.

Should I do anything else before going back to lucid?

This has been bugging me since I got my Gravity in December. I noticed it immediately when I was picking it up from the delivery location, and they acted like it would be resolved in future OTA updates. This has to be a bug. If it's not a bug, it's terrible user experience design.
 
I'm pretty sure it is going to always start up in Smooth...so they can advertise key-up EPA ratings. People had same complaints with Rivian but it is what it is.

Not sure about the other as I've never taken mine out of "hold."

This is not a bug. This is by design due to EPA regulations and applies to all vehicle manufacturers. The same complaint is being made in other car forums.
