Hey but Android auto and carplay work!
I'm actually a bit surprised by how well it works actually. Occasionally my Android Auto won't connect and I have to cycle bluetooth on the car, then it connects immediately.Hey but Android auto and carplay work!
Well, a couple times I did that and went to close it and it wouldn't...like if I pushed the window might bend/break. I'm going to try Borski's advice tomorrow. Hope it works...Does it close if you do it with the door open and then close the door with window up?
They sent out a correction.
After a call to service center, I learned a couple things that may be helpful in case others have this issue with the window not closing/bumping the top and staying open:You need your seals adjusted. This isn’t a software issue. There are two workarounds:
1. Open the door, then close the window, then close the door. It will work fine.
2. Do it three times, and on each it’ll bounce back down. On the third (or fourth, can’t remember), hold it, and it will seal.
But the solution is service.
The 10 second window reset is new to me. Am I understanding it right that you first open the window all the way by using the switch in the manual position (halfway pressed until fully open), then you press it all the way down for 10+ seconds? After a call to service center, I learned a couple things that may be helpful in case others have this issue with the window not closing/bumping the top and staying open:
I tried the above and everything else I knew (reset windows w switch, reset car, deep reset of car, etc) and nothing was working. As I tried things, the window became totally unusable and wouldn't even move anymore. So I called service and a couple things:
-If you click the window button too many times, it causes the regulator to overheat since it's sending voltage with every click. So if this happens, let it sleep for ~30 minutes to cool down. It became responsive again after I did this.
-The 2nd point is important: When you put the window all the way down to reset it, you can't push the switch all the way to automatically roll down. You must do the half click to manually roll it down. Only then can you do the hold down for :10 to reset.
I'm still not sure this is actually fixed but at least I now know the reset to get the window to close if this happens again. Mobile service is ordering a new regulator in case this goes wonky again.
Correct. The reset will only work if you manually lower the windows down by pushing 1/2 way. I also confirmed this with my mobile tech after doing it. I'm guessing that the reset adjusts various settings: speed, sensitivity for safety, maybe how much it rolls down when door opens/closes.The 10 second window reset is new to me. What does a window reset actually do?
This is fairly typical on a car with Auto Open/Close full up/down windows. Everytime an ICE version had the battery disconnected it had to be done.Correct. Yup. Happened to me on my Mazda too. This is fairly typical on a car with Auto Open/Close full up/down windows. Everytime an ICE version had the battery disconnected it had to be done.
Whhaaaaa? The designer's job is literally to prevent things like this.-If you click the window button too many times, it causes the regulator to overheat since it's sending voltage with every click. What's even more ridiculous is how quickly some people accept and justify these embarrassing failures on a $100k+ luxury vehicle, even granting it awards and praises.Whhaaaaa? The designer's job is literally to prevent things like this.
We had a window-not-closing issue today that was fixed with a steering wheel reboot. I get that all of these systems need limit calibration, but that this is not automatically done continues to be ridiculous.
I often describe it as Lucid doing the hard things really well, but the easy things poorly. What's even more ridiculous is how quickly some people accept and justify these embarrassing failures on a $100k+ luxury vehicle, even granting it awards and praises.
The culture of participation trophies has made its way from kindergartens to car manufacturers. Congratulations all around
No need to respond with "it's hard to make a car" and "others are even worse", it's been beaten to death....
this is a software-related topic, and Customer Care does not have direct visibility into feature scope changes, software design decisions, or roadmap details for DreamDrive packages.
You're right, there is absolutely no way we can possibly have two things be true at once. It cannot both be the best designed SUV and also have some problems. That would be absurd! Clearly, it must be either perfect, or crap. What's even more ridiculous is how quickly some people accept and justify these embarrassing failures on a $100k+ luxury vehicle, even granting it awards and praises.
Astute. As an alternate option, consider that there are pros and cons, and the market doesn't have many competitors with as many pros and as few cons. The culture of participation trophies has made its way from kindergartens to car manufacturers. Congratulations all around![]()
K. I wouldn't, since those are bad arguments. No need to respond with "it's hard to make a car" and "others are even worse", it's been beaten to death....
