Latest update from my DA: ‘The car is currently in the third phase of the manufacturing process, Generaly Assembly. It is getting the “guts”, meaning the carpeting, the electronics, the leather seats, etc.’

Some granular terminology I haven’t encountered on the forum before. But when asked for a delivery estimate, my DA is still sticking to ‘very soon’ lol

I totally realize that cars were not as complicated but it is funny to think that 101 years ago the Ford Model T was being built at its height of production with 3 cars per minute coming off the assembly line. At that time all parts were produced at the plant except the tires and wood spokes. Raw iron ore was delivered by barge at one end of the plant and finished cars drove out the other end.
32,000 full time employees. Running 24 hours a day, 6 days a week. 3, 8 hour shifts.

They told me color made no difference In delivery schedule, but rather it was order date. THAT WAS A LIE.
@hmp10 is shaking his head saying "I told you so". This was the case with the newly introduced red for the DE and now for the Grey/Silver for the GT. Apparently, Lucid has an issue with introducing new colors and they didn't change their messaging after the fiasco with red DE.

On a “glass is half full” note…with so many of you all changing colors for earlier delivery, and interiors and wheels for better look & value….my silver, Mojave, 19” will be a limited edition! 😂

To be fair, all the colors were new when it came to the Dreams. The problem was they decided to add red at the last minute and had already prepared to produce only the other 3 colors, so they made the choice to wait on the reds until after the other 3 and lied to @hmp10 et al about the color not making a difference.

I truly believe they intended to produce all 5 GT colors in short order but had issues with the grey and silver. The problem with this was that they decided to keep it hush hush instead of openly communicating to us that there was a problem. That in turn lead to a lot of anger at the lack of communication, especially as later batches started getting VINs.

Was told by the studio and the DA hinted at the fact that rejection of a batch of Grey paint for not making specs was the culprit. DA also mentioned rejected Santa Cruz carpet as well.
supposedly Grey VINs are dribbling out, per the DA and my VIN assignment is still on track. She would know more later this week.

After my dog encounters the Santa Cruz carpet, it’ll look far worse than the rejected batch.

No one here (small sample size, I know) has reported a VIN yet for a grey car. Being in the earliest batch, I'd like to think that I'll be one of the first to get one. My DA last week said to expect my VIN next week, so I wouldn't think there have been any grey VINs assigned yet. I'd guess there's a chance of some coming out this week, but who knows.

I just was told a few minutes ago, via email by my DA, that he has heard nothing about a batch of grey paint being rejected. He did say something about having issues with the “harmony process” with the grey paint, whatever that means. He also told me a week or so ago that he would let me know when the first grey VIN’s went out and he has not told me anything in that respect.

It will be interesting once Lucid closes the gap on their production between VIN assignments and delivery. It seems the talking point now is two weeks which is much faster than before.

So I had my first conversation with my DA. Have a March 23rd confirmation down here in Phoenix. He said to expect a VIN within sometime in May. Is that consistent with what someone reported earlier @mnewber1 ? The only annoying part was how he still was quoting 'confirmation to delivery can be between 2-5 months!!' coz they still won't talk specifically, or rather hate to talk specifically about my case.
Also, hehe, I could have sworn somewhere between him referencing timelines, he said your 'VIN could be in April itself'. Couple of minutes later, when I asked again, he had an emphatic NOOOO to April, but said sometime in May. Slightly confusing

I've heard May timeframe for a lot of March confirmations as well. VIN assignments have slowed down it seems (only three last week) or people originally reported their car information just haven't updated in a while.

Welcome to the world of DAs, where they can say 4 conflicting timeframes in the span of 2 sentences. 🤣

All but three cars remain in the top sections of the lot.

Seems like they're really honing in on Black right now.

Maybe they’re just changing out paint???🤞🤞🤞

Saw the guy with the black DE go by my house today, he lives probably 1 mile away given where I keep seeing him.

Not sure how we’re supposed to update the batch tracker, but I received my vin on 3/22 and was told that the car is now in transit to Seattle store for delivery to my Bend, Oregon location once it arrives. Also received my invite to pay today. I was also told that things are accelerating re: delivery, so good luck to all waiting.

Here's Saturday's looks like there were more white cars up there. My thoughts are that these are test drive vehicles because there are only ever black or white cars up there (or gold early on). Never seen Red up there.
