Encounter Extraordinary - NYC March 28-30

Interesting story. I'm going to start a thread asking how people first became aware of Lucid.
Good idea. I was literally debating between a Model S Plaid or an R8 Spyder for a purchase about two weeks later.

Then I walked by the Lucid studio. I’m sorry, I lied, it was September 2021.

So for anyone who was there or has been by since, are these full production gravities and are you able to actually get into them, play with the UI, switches, etc? Or is it pretty much all still on lockdown?

I went this morning around 11:15am and also went on a ride along. The two Gravity models in the showroom were functional I tried out the seat adjustments, doors, folding down the rear seats, and the rear trays. All functional. Massage was cool. There is a demo mode which they play in the vehicle but you can check out the other programming options in the vehicle like Nav, battery / charging, etc. I did not try out the sound system with music though.

I also took a spin in one as a drive along. I was solo and we went for about two miles on the city streets. The vehicle handles well and it feels like the Air but a little higher. I did not feel sway or the “wishy-washy” feel I have compared to my Genesis GV80. I also liked it more compared to a Rivian which I drove at an expo in the fall.

I also liked the steering wheel.

Personal opinion ->> I would definitely get it.

I was able to play with it a little bit yesterday . It’s definitely a step up from the Airs software, I was left extremely impressed. So, it’s usable but not sure if they’re going to let people mess with it this weekend. They have 3 or 4 demos to show so might be a case of get em in get em out to keep the line moving and not allow people to mess with the UI.

If people are on the fence ordering I think the demo will get many to order. Lucid has done a great job to show it all off and should leave people extremely impressed. You think the sound is great in the Air, omg….. the Gravity is unbelievable!

If I haven't spent $500k on buying LCID shares, I would be shorting this to oblivion ... Engineering is great, but common sense lacks...
LCID is incredibly undervalued in my opinion. The passion and drive of this team is enormous.

Spend 5 minutes with any if them, or watch the engineering videos, it’s not an act, they really know that much and the breath and scope of knowledge in any room of this event was staggering.

And with the PIF; and amazing vehicles in the pipeline (with Gravity shipping soon), I think you’ll be happy if you hold.

Basically LCID, and with engineering working at 110% 24/7… I don’t have any worries regarding Lucid’s longevity.

Anyone at the NYC event hear any mention of the Digital Detox feature?

The feature turns off most of the screens except for essential information, like speed.

Perhaps someone on a night time ride along can experience it.

They are full production Gravity, and you can push all the buttons. The SSP sounds so much better than the Air SS no P. We tested using Drown by ZABO.

I really want to know more about that front fork mount they are using in this photo. This photo is from the Gravity reveal.

Will this mount be available for purchase? Will there be a version for a quick release skewer and a version for through axles?

Will there be a mount for the 3rd row? I imagine you should be able to stagger the bikes tighter if one faces forward, and another faces the rear. Thus allowing one of the second row seats to still remain up, for a 3rd person to sit in.

If anyone is at the NYC studio this weekend.... please ask! If I'm not riding my bike, I'm more than likely bringing it with me.

The rear does all fold flat, with 8ft length. That bike mount rail looks like a third party saris rail

I'm curious about the bike mount as well. Let me know what you find out.

I asked two Lucid folks and was told it was 3rd party but neither knew which…

Found this video from a person who visited the showroom Friday or Saturday. Mentioned a few items of interest like the side/blinker camera view seemed like it had a slow framerate or at least did not look smooth. However, at about 7:45 in the video he engages the "demo" mode in the Gravity and you get to watch a video demonstration of some of the functions.

I got my ride along this afternoon. The car feels like is carved from stone , no rattles or squeaks. It takes the uneven NYC streets with aplomb, better than my air with the coil spring suspension. I couldn’t see the HUD display but it’s there, displaying speed, speed limit and blind spot icons. The rep told me more info to be displayed is coming. The fit and finish are great, again better than my air( which is admittedly a very early GT). I was told that the ac system is much more robust than the air as well. The rep further indicated that with my deposit and my previous ownership I should be taking delivery around May but certainly as summer starts. I couldn’t be happier
