Days Since The Last Major Feature Release... Yikes!

I think once they nail down the G software & features with minimum viable product/MVP then they will port it to Lucid Air.

G&E will have the same software and hardware stack to make go to market strategy easy and fast

in short, it is going to be a while until we celebrate through big VR party for UX3.0 in 2027... assuming no recession is happening .... jk

Just watched a detailed overview of the Gravity 3.0 interface on YouTube (
). Looks like a nice step up from the 2.x version and there’s some interesting new charging features etc as well as obviously Tesla supercharger support.

Given Air is supposedly getting Tesla charging support in Q2, I’m wondering whether Lucid will coincide a 3.0 upgrade to Air at the same time. Certainly when that happens the air will need map and charging support in our software.

Dear Lucid... if you need a way to fill up that big old empty entertainment/media spot, I have one word for you...

4.2 bazillion pieces of free of the box content, and let users access their own server. You can set the steam quality to reduce bandwidth as you choose

Some very cool enhancements. I would think much of this will be headed to the Air. One of the really great things about owning a Lucid. As CEO Marc Winteroff said once, “Lucid is the only car that gets better as it gets older.”

I am interested to know how they roll out such enhancements. Do they need to “retrain” their drivers?! Anyone out there own a Lucid during a previously significant UI upgrade? What steps do they take?

Within the various threads about OTA Updates, there is one fairly frequent comment that I find extremely disturbing, and I even see it stated by some of the forum's regulars. That statement is that it is somehow conceivable, and even acceptable, that Lucid might walk away from completing their various promised features and fixes for the Air. I'm quite certain this is not the thinking among Lucid's management, and I cringe when people suggest that it might ever be an acceptable change of their strategy/focus. These are promised features and fixes.

Anyone who drives an Air is an early adopter to one degree or another. Part of that, in my mind, is taking a 'leap of faith' that you will give the company the time it needs to fulfill its promises. Lucid has pushed that time beyond reason in at least some cases, but as an increasingly viable business, those promises must be met.

I applaud the fact that the Gravity's features will surely exceed the Air's. That's the nature of progress. But, the idea that somehow Lucid could/would walk away from clearly achievable and promised features and fixes for the Air is nonsense.

I agree with you completely.

Crazy that we're heading into 6 months without an update. If the Air and Gravity software teams are truly separate, you'd think they'd have been able to push an Air update within 6 months. That is unless they've been working on a true monster update.

Since they said AA was coming by the end of last year and it never arrived it makes me think this hiatus in updates was not planned or expected. I also wonder how much this delay could be related to Mike Bell leaving last year.

Recently crossed 200 days with no major feature release for the Air. 203 days as of today... Double Yikes. Am I screaming into the void? My wifi-connected oven tosses me a bone more often than this...

Lucid can deny it all it wants, but the Air is now definitely second fiddle to the Gravity.

Second fiddle? I'm starting to wonder if it's even in the orchestra!

Why is everyone saying there's been no update in 6 months? I got my '25 Air a little less than 6 months ago and have had several updates including the most recent full DDP update (which is great). I know I missed the early problems in the first 3 years of the car but also right now my car is pretty stable and solid (and enjoyable). Of course I want improvements and bug fixes as well. Just adding this for other new (or prospective) owners who may also be confused by the seemingly unending 'complaining'. I'm sure I'll get roasted for saying this here.

To be fair, while the last update didn’t add any features, it did improve DreamDrive Pro dramatically in my opinion.

No roasting, but as the thread title states, we are talking major features as opposed to tweaks and fixes. Long promised things like AA, sentry mode, hands-free DDP, etc...

I suspect you’ll find some “gifts” in a coming-soon OTA release.

I disagree with this line of thinking though, anyway, as @Bobby knows; tracking “major features” is not all that useful, as I’d argue fixing DDP *was* a major feature.

Also, fixing bugs can sometimes take longer than writing features; depends on how insidious the bug is. 🤷‍♂️
