Confirmed: Android Auto coming this fall!

Also they could be separate teams. Since they basically said fall. it is a 3 month window which just started. So, we have to wait at least till the middle of fall perhaps mid November before we think that they are late in AA.
Hopefully, Lucid is on the cusp of completion and said "Fall" to give themselves plenty of wiggle room. So far, they have avoided the Tesla route of promising things and not delivering. I think that we all anticipated most of what was in 2.4, except for "Hey Lucid", and that was true a year ago. Had Lucid said a year ago when to expect any of it, it would have been risky. Instead, we knew that it was just a matter of time. With 2.4, they waited until it was rolling out to tell people. The only hint that I had was somebody inside Lucid telling me that Lucid was really concentrating on a big software release, but with no specifics at all.

So with less than a month until the end of Fall 2024, how do you all feel about getting android auto delivered in an OTA update?

It'll come, my guess is within the next couple months.

Are you sure they said 2024?

Ye of tempered faith!

I heard it was recently discovered that the car does not have enough memory for both Android Auto and Apple Car Play, so in an effort to be fair, all cars will only have Android Auto for the next 2.5 years. Gravity will maintain neutral territory, and only run TikTok.

Tik tok ex-US. Napster or iirc in the States.

I am wrong in assuming AA won't be available with the Gravity as it only specifies Carplay?

Lucid does not generally preannounce and AA is on the cusp of being available for the Air. It's very unlikely that they'd go through all the effort to design the software, and once they get it done, leave it off what they expect to be their best selling vehicle.

They don't want to say that it's there when it's not there yet, so that's likely why it's not yet a listed feature.

I understand that, but they listened it for the Air before ultimately removing it from the website. So I was just wondering since it should be released for the Air by the time Gravity starts shipping

The release of AA before winter may very well be hanging solely on Google's approval. I think @nicktwork has built a lot of credibility during his short tenure at Lucid, and that he would let us know if had firm reason to believe that his predicated timeline would be missed. I'm hanging tight.

So that was a lie

Android brothers and sisters are a resilient bunch. I love the optimism expressed!

Technically we have until Dec 30, astronomically
And technically, in order for a statement to be a lie, it has to be false when it was made. It can't be true and then become false. Since it was about what was expected, and it wasn't as if they just had it sitting in a box ready to mail out, it's reasonable to assume that they had every expectation that it would be out this fall when they said it.
