900 mile road trip in the upper Midwest. Day 1 was 30F with heavy sleet. I did 3.1 mi/kWh with the same driving style when I achieved 4.2 mi/kWh in the summer, 68-74 mph using ACC and no manual acceleration. Day 2 was 20F with wind but no precipitation and I achieved only 2.8. I used the seat heater with HVAC set to 64 deg. So that is about a 1/3 decline in efficiency. Talking to others at EA stops that sounds typical. I noticed most EA sites were full or nearly full. Lowered winter efficiency means more charging required for everyone on the road. At the new Michigan City, IN EA site, 6 new 350KW chargers, worked great, mostly full. Next to a Tesla supercharger site with 20 (!!!) brand new chargers with only 2-3 cars there. Impressive. Tesla is still building infrastructure for future demand.

Yep, 1/3 is pretty much the standard, I'm curious how that would change with a heat pump. The cabin heater is part of it, but keeping the battery warm uses the bulk of the difference IIRC.
