Chime sound, how do we turn it down?

Well, I just found out that my car is not on the latest firmware but it won't update because it's not connecting to the WiFi or cell service. So maybe after I get this fixed it'll be different. :)

What have you tried to improve this? Have you tried to reset? Updates are done via the built-in cellular, not Wi-Fi. Are you parked in an area where it can receive cellular?

I'm not getting any cellular signal either, and the problem started with the car also losing GPS signal completely. I have contacted customer service already and I'm waiting for a callback from service. The GPS seems to be back fully after two nights, but the cell and Wi-Fi are not working yet. HomeLink does work.

I think there’s a module under the seat that needs to be reset? What did service say?

One other datapoint regarding the volume of the seat belt and turn signal sounds: I had a GT loaner last week while my Pure was in for service, and it seemed like the sounds weren’t as loud in it as they are in my Pure. I didn’t have a chance to test them back-to-back, however. Both cars are running the latest s/w. Perhaps there’s a difference in volume due to the trim level or SSP vs SS (mine only has SS)?

That's not really a fix- it's a solvable problem. Putting your foot on the brake when you get in a car is second nature. The car shouldn't react to that by doing its best to wake up your sleeping children. Even more egregious since the car is still in Park, it's not like you're about to drive off without your seatbelt.

I've had my Air for a couple of days now, and the high volume of the seatbelt alarm and the turn signal noise are the worst things about the car. (The fact that no phones fit in the wireless charging holders is a minor annoyance, and the lack of Android Auto feels egregious but is supposedly coming soon). Otherwise love the car, but there needs to be a way to turn the volume on those down or off.
Yes , I agree with all . The plus my infotainment system plays no sound intermittently and sometimes it plays every thing in slow motion from am/fm to Sirrius but love the car

I'd be curious if some of you who think the chimes are loud checked out another car. Either somebody else here, or a showroom car. I barely notice the seatbelt chime, and I'd describe the blinker sound as "gentle." Maybe even a bit too quiet, I can't always hear it over moderate music. Don't know if that's just my ears, or if some cars are (accidentally?) tuned differently.
Yes , I have a 2022 liner now cause my 24 is in for repair and it is fine compared to my 24 , way loud in my 24 pure

Interesting. Is yours also base Surreal Sound (not Pro)?

I have a 22 GT, with SS Pro. But I had a few days in it with the base Surreal Sound. The turn signals were definitely louder without SS Pro.
As for the seat belt warning sound, it doesn't seem that bad to me at all. In our other car, a Honda, we actually call the passenger seatbelt sound the Ejection Seat warning, because it starts at a medium tone and gets louder and louder by the second until it's buckled.

Try a logo reset and see if it still does it. That’s a weird one, sounds like the usual software getting confused thing.

Been
Like this for 30 days and all the resets in the world won’t fix a defective sound module . Problem with service is they have to wait on approval as to what to replace and it’s been a while with no answer

Ah yeah that’s different if they think it’s something with the sound module. I think it’s stuck playing back things at the wrong sampling rate from what the input is, that would definitely result in slowed down audio. It would be like playing a 45RPM record at 33 RPM. I bet the board in your car responsible for playing back 44.1khz audio from the sources you mentioned is stuck playing it at 22khz. It’s just slower but the pitch is the same, right?

While I don’t know car audio, I do know digital audio. All digital audio is synced to a clock. I think yours is locking onto that clock wrong (I’ve seen that happen, where it’s taking a 44.1khz sample and playing it back at 22khz) or the clock itself is malfunctioning which I haven’t seen unless it was also triggering ear splitting sudden blasts of all digital 1s and no zeros. I don’t know what in the car contains the clock but I’m guessing it’s the DSP and they should just swap that out.

Exactly, yes . What do you think it is ?

Probably a bad chip or board or something else in the DSP itself that’s not locking onto the clock correctly. It essentially doesn’t know what a milisecond is, thinking it’s one when it’s actually two. So at a sample rate of 44.1khz if it’s stuck reading at 22khz it’s going to only play half the samples it’s supposed to in one second so it takes twice as long to play all the samples for a 44.1khz source, hence the audio plays back at half speed but with normal pitch. The easiest (but most expensive) solution would just be to replace the DSP I’d guess.

It kind of happened after the update which I hit a few days after taking delivery
