Charging Question

Interesting. According to the Lucid I get 42 mi/h charging on the hardwired Chargepoint, though my old Model S only gets 25mi/h.

Just the output of the ChargePoint charger and most other home chargers. I would assume that most EVs will charge at about the same speed on 220V chargers.
I thought so, but just wanted to be sure. Thanks.

Note that Lucid's own wall-mounted charger, when it becomes available, can use up to a 100 amp circuit and charge the Air at 80 amps - hardwired.

For reference, I get 38mi/h with the Lucid charger plugged into a 14-50 plug.

Calculating miles or range added per hour depends on the efficiency of the car. It is really not the best way to calculate. The better way is to calculate kw added per hour. If the car is more efficient, then one will get more range even though the input is the same. My Chargepoint Flex, plugged into a 50 amp circuit and delivering 40 amps, delivers 9.1 kw/hr. If one gets 4.6 miles per kw on 19 inch wheels, this is ~42 miles per hour. However, if one has 21 inch wheels, even though I am filling the battery at the same rate, the miles per hour will be less.

I guess YMMV is really true then...;)

100% agree. The only metric that can be compared is kW. You don’t buy miles of electricity or miles of gas.
