iPhone15ProMax. IOS 15.
Tried both types of resets.. and deleted mobile key multiple times.
Phone connects over bluetooth without issue.
I can NOT get the mobile key to work. It pairs, but the BT connection never completes and the car never recognizes the key.
I realize there are threads that advise fixes, this is meant for those that tried all those and failed.
Called customer support, they walked me through the resets. Now escalating to service.

I have Samsung S22 Android. My mobile key stopped working as well. I also deleted and reinstalled mobile key and the problem persisted.

It seems to be correlated to OTA 2.5.X. I can't be 100% sure about the time mobile key stopped working because I haven't been driving the Lucid for 3+ months and only started driving the AGT again 8 days ago. It was working OK under OTA 2.4.X. Car was updated to OTA 2.5 when it was available. Seems like the mobile key has not worked since. I will try another delete/reinstall later today. I have a service appontment on Thursday (2 yr maintenance) and will ask the SC to fix if I can't reinstall.

The frequency/incidences of OTA bugs are annoying.

iOS 15? That was replaced years ago. Update your phone to 18.2.
If that was a typo: try resetting your network settings on your phone. Try turning off Wi-Fi in the car.

Deleted and reinstalled Mobile Key 2X this morning. Still doesn't work!

Just got off the phone with the Service Rep. After listening to my issues with the Mobile Key, I told him I have an Android phone. He said" please look at the logo icon of the mobile app, is it a "L" or is it a "Bear"". I told him it is a "L". Paraphrasing what he told me....I might be SOL until they update the Android Mobile App!! He said the iOS App has been updated, and the Mobile Keys should work. But not Android. And there is no schedule as to when the update is going to be!

This is truly amazing!

In any event, he will meet me on Thursday when I bring the car in for service. He seems knowledgeable, but I am not sure what he can actually do!

Perhaps @borski now understands why I carry my phone, my FOB and my valet key with me all the time!

For the 84th time: I have no issue with you carrying whatever you want. You do not *need* to carry both your fob and your valet card. Carrying one of them in addition to your phone is a good idea. But carrying both the fob and the card is unnecessary, because the fob works just fine even if it’s dead, in the same way as the card.

I don’t know how to be more clear. If you carry the phone, you should carry one of the other two as well, if only because the phone battery might die.

But carrying both the fob and the card is unnecessary.

I hope that is clear.

Mobile key works perfectly fine for many others who have Android. I imagine maybe they have made some changes in the new iOS version that might make it more reliable (who knows?) but suggesting no one with Android can use mobile key right now seems—specious at best.

I understand perfectly. But, the valet card is simple and easier to carry and less bulky than the FOB. So, if I carry only two items, I'd skip the FOB.

What's absurd is the woner has to carry more than one device so he/she won't get locked out/stranded.

I can use the Mobile App on my Android phone to unlock the car. After trying 3X (after OTA 2.5.x), I have been unable to use my Mobile key. The Mobile Key PAIR'ed, but, it won't unlock the car.

I don’t think redundancy in this example is absurd. My phone has all my credit cards and banking info. Along with my digital driver’s license. I could navigate the day without carrying my wallet. Bu I still carry my wallet. As redundancy. It also has my Lucid valet card.

Actually, that’s not absurd at all. There is certainly the possibility that your cell phone battery could die, and that is the only time you would need the valet key. That would be your own fault, not the car’s.

Fair point.....my reference to absurdity has to do with carrying 3 unlock items because you never know when the battery dies or when an OTA disables your mobile key.

I am all for the belt-and-suspender apparoch, especially when I am travelling on long road trips at night.

Yes, carrying three items is completely absurd. I can’t think of a single instance when that would be necessary.

Great, then please don’t keep suggesting people need to carry all 3.

Not absurd. Phones die or break. Having a backup method of entry is always important. I have a keypad on my house, and it’s battery powered. I keep a 9V outside the house so that I can power it if the batteries die.

Some keypads still have keyholes for a backup method of entry.

How about,

You are in a remote area, with no cell reception, the battery died in your FOB, your phone battery is drained? And there was a recent OTA.

Your phone is useless, perhaps you still have the valet card and a (no battery) FOB. If the FOB works as intended, perhaps you can still opne the door. Same with the valet key. Would OTA updates interfere with these last resorts?

All good points. As I noted in my response to @Bobby, one could argue (as you did) that the valet key and the FOB are redundant backups. I agree. EXCEPT, I don't know if OTA updates could interfere with one or both of these last resort backups.

Can upu educate us whether the valet key or a battery-less FOB can be render useless by an OTA?

Anything can happen. An OTA update can cause your car to decide it only has one motor, or no motors, or that the trunk is open, or anything else. But we’re talking about realistic expectations, not remote possibilities.

The fob works without a battery via NFC, same as the card. If one is disabled, you can be fairly certain the other is too, though they are technically using different sensors.

Short of a hardware failure, it’s extremely unlikely that the fob stops working via NFC.

If we’re talking remote possibilities, your car can also have a building fall on it.

Thanks....anything is possible. And Lucid's OTA history keeps me up at night!

To your point, the FOB and the FOB NFC use different sensors. Ideally, safety functions such as car entry, should have their own independent signal path to unlock the doors as opposed to going through the main computer and the OS. I have no idea how this is done in the Lucid, hence my paranoia.

Are you actually reading the responses that people are making to your posts?
Fob (battery) - bluetooth
Fob (no/dead battery) - NFC
Key Card - NFC
Mobile Key - bluetooth
App - cellular

So either carry the fob or mobile key with a backup card.

Okay, fine, I’m done. You want to win. No problem.

I agree, you should carry all 3.

I’m going to carry just my phone and the card (in my wallet), and recommend others do the same.

You should definitely carry all three. Congrats on the win. No more debate from me about what you should carry.

Have a happy new year.
