Can anyone compare DDPremium vs. Tesla Autopilot (not FSD)?

I personally don't like the handsfree as well as I do regular Drive Assist. Having said that the Hands Free Drive Assist has been working really well. The problem is it requires me to keep my head almost perfectly still and even anything more than minimal cockpit scanning puts it into a series of pay attention warnings. With regular Drive Assist as long as it feels the weight of my hand I can look around without issue. I assume over time the Hands Free will become less strict and more user friendly.

I wonder if your steering wheel is positioned low enough for the face cam to have a good view? I can move my head and look around without issue.

I don't think so but it's possible. Initially, it didn't work at all until I lowered the steering wheel all the way down. Once I did that it activates correctly but is just extremely strict on the amount of time it allows me to do anything other than stare straight ahead.

If I understand correctly, DDP2 on Gravity is similar to the Tesla autopilot (not FSD) EXCEPT for traffic light/stop/yield signs recognition/reaction and perhaps usage on unmarked roads. I believe autopilot will do both.

I also assume it has pedestrian recognition/reaction?

Is that accurate? If so, they sound similar.

Lower it further, just as a test.

If so that’s fine with me. I don’t really use those functions in my Tesla anyway. The only one of those that is remotely useful for me is traffic light recognition. But I’m also someone that is always aware of the traffic light state. I hate it when people are on their phones and don’t move when the light turns green, but the little “ding” is nice to have.

Two clarifications:

1) Hands Free Drive Assist - Not available yet on Gravity. If you get DD2Pro, you will get the feature later in the year, per Lucid.

2) No, DD2Pro isn’t like Tesla FSD right now. It doesn’t change lanes automatically on highway (it will suggest you do so or you can initiate with turn signal). It will not head to off ramps and take exit anutomatically, etc. It’s not following the route you set. It’s just following the lines. It’s effectively TACC with lane keep. It works really well, but I wouldn’t compare it to FSD right now. As others have said, it’s like Tesla Autopilot sort of pre-FSD. Totally fine with me, but wanted to clarify.
